What do you know about ur planet? Many things seem to have existed forever, and certain well-known people are associated with a specific period of time. But have you ever really sat down and considered the relationship between different events in correlation with each other? You’d be surprised how your perception of time really fools you! By the way, we’ve hidden 3 tiny light bulbs in this video. Can you find them all? If you’re the first one to find them and write the time they appear in the comments, you will get a mention from us in one of our next videos! Good luck, and let’s begin! TIMESTAMPS When the first Star Wars was released, the guillotine was still being used in France. 1:02 People born at the same moment can celebrate their birthdays on different days. 1:46 Martin Luther King Jr., Anne Frank, and Christopher Plummer were all born in the same year. 3:15 Cleopatra lived closer to the founding of McDonalds than to the building of the Great Pyramids. 4:14 Some of the whales that lived when Moby-Dick was written are still alive today. 4:58 A plane from New Zealand traveled in time. 5:40 The grandchildren of US President John Tyler, who was born in the 18th century, are still alive. 6:22 Warner Bros. Studios appeared when the Ottoman Empire still existed. 7:18 Throughout the life of Queen Elizabeth II, there have been 16 different US presidents. 8:22 Tiffany & Co. jewelry company is older than Italy. 8:44 If you could fit the entire history of Earth into 1 year, humans would appear at 11:35PM on December 31. 9:59 We are now closer to 2033 than 2000. 12:24 SUMMARY - The first Star Wars movie was released on May 25, 1977. After that, France officially abolished the use of the guillotine along with the death penalty 1981! - For example, it's still morning in the US but already the next day in Australia. Anyone who has flown westward over long distances especially gets what we’re saying. You’re travelling for hours and hours but, according to the local time, you arrive to your destination earlier than when you had left! - The famous American preacher and 1960’s civil rights leader was born in the same year as Anne Frank, a brave little Jewish teenager. - By the time Cleopatra was born in 69 B.C., the Great Pyramid of Giza had already been around for 2,471 years! - Herman Melville wrote Moby-Dick in 1851. In his book, the author described a gigantic white whale infamous for its huge size and the destruction it caused to ships. And while such whales have a lifespan of about 50-60 years, the Bowhead whale can live for as long as 200 years and more! - What happened was a Hawaiian plane took off from Auckland at 12:05AM on January 1, 2018. The passengers on the plane were happy to celebrate the New Year a second time because the plane landed in Honolulu at 10:16AM local time on December 31, 2017. - John Tyler was born in 1790; that’s over 200 years ago! Yet 2 of his grandchildren, Lyon Gardiner Tyler Junior and Harisson Raffin Tyler, are still alive. Yes, grandchildren! - In 1903 the Warner brothers opened their first movie theater called the Cascade. Their parents were originally from the Russian Empire, and out of 12 children in the family, it was actually just Harry, Albert, Sam, and Jack that started the famous company. - Elizabeth II was born in 1926 when Calvin Coolidge was President of the US. Since then, there have been 15 successors. - The Italy we know today, aka the Italian Republic, was established in 1861, and Charles Lewis Tiffany and John Young opened their first store on Broadway in 1837. But you probably wouldn’t have recognized the company in its early years. - Let's imagine the Earth’s 4.54 billion-year history is squished into one calendar year. If you crunch the numbers, you’ll see that 1 second would equal 144 years! - When you hear "10 years ago," you still think of the '90s, not the 2000s, don't you? Isn’t it crazy how so many people are guilty of this? Well, here’s a friendly reminder: it’s been 18 years since the year 2000 (and 28 since 1990!) Let's find out whether such astounding progress is good and if this “science of the future” can actually come back and bite us later. Did you know that there's a strong chance of a remote control for the body and brain being invented? With each passing day, science continues to move forward. It keeps expanding the boundaries of human capabilities to such an extent, that it seems like it's just a matter of time until we see something we could've imagined only in the boldest sci-fi flicks! TIMESTAMPS Transplantation of a human head 1:16 Selective amnesia 2:14 Water on Mars 2:58 A child from three parents 3:50 Organs grown in a lab 4:39 “Plastic” diseases 5:33 Nanorobots inside people 6:24 There are one billion planets that look like the Earth 7:20 3-D bioprinter that can print human skin 8:10 Bacteria evolving faster than we find cures for them 9:03 Mysterious Universe 9:56 Remote control for the brain 10:42 SUMMARY - Sergio Canavero, a neurosurgeon from Italy, is planning to take on a divine endeavor – bringing people back from the dead! The Italian scientist is sure that successful transplantation of a human head is a fairly realistic possibility. - Would you like to get rid of all your phobias, worries, bad memories and fears? Well, lucky for you, scientists are now ready to do just that and rid your brain of all the negative thoughts and flashbacks without affecting the important parts of your life's history. All this can be done by combining brain scanning technologies and artificial intelligence. - In 2016 NASA made an exciting announcement – there are some tiny frozen seas on Mars! In fact, scientists don't exclude the likelihood that the water there may flow underground. And where there’s water, there’s the possibility of life, right? - In 2016 a baby boy was born using a new and innovative technique that incorporates DNA from not two but three people! This scientific sensation allowed the baby’s parents to conceive a perfectly healthy newborn, despite the fact that the mother carries genes of Leigh syndrome, which is a fatal disorder that affects the central nervous system. - Scientists at The Ohio State University (go Buckeyes!) have spent nearly 15 weeks in the lab growing a human brain. The final product of this serious lab work has the same developmental level as a nine-week-old fetus! - As it turns out, we consume loads of poisonous chemicals every day without even realizing it. Plastic drink containers and bottles can lead to all sorts of health problems. Among them are uterine cancer, breast cancer, heart attack, diabetes, and that's just a drop in the bucket of the whole list of possible “surprises” you may end up with. - Teeny-tiny bots can store and transport remedies to sick and ailing parts in your body. Amazingly enough, these little babies can also detect diseased cells on their own! - Two years ago NASA came to the conclusion that there are nearly one billion planets that are similar to the Earth. And we’re talking about in our galaxy alone. Just imagine what could be outside of it! So, basically, what it means is that there are billions of planets where intelligent life could possibly live. - Spanish scientists have presented a prototype of a bioprinter that can print totally functional human skin! This skin can be used for transplantation, cosmetics testing, and really any type of medical experimentation. - Even though medicine continues to advance forward as quickly as it can with all its new and effective antibiotics and vaccines, it turns out that it isn’t moving fast enough. Unfortunately, some strains of bacteria are always a couple of steps ahead of us. - Such important things as dark matter and dark energy are completely unexplored to this day. The only thing astronomers are sure of is that all of these dark parts are the main causes for the expansion of the universe. - In 1923 scientists learned to control the brain's neurons, which allowed them to control movements and manipulate emotions and feelings. Sounds kind of dark, right? And that's not all. How to Broaden Your Horizons. In case you think you know everything about our planet and us humans, here’s a surprise for you: the world is so interesting and complicated that you can always learn more about it to get smarter and impress your friends. Pay attention to these 15 amazing shocking facts that’ll completely change the way you see the world. Acne slows down aging 0:54 Researchers at King’s College London found that the cells of people who had acne in their youth have better built-in protection against aging. It all comes down to things called telomeres. They’re like tiny caps on the ends of chromosomes that protect your DNA from damage. Basically, the longer the telomeres, the slower your cells age. In the study, the researchers measured the telomeres in over 1200 twins and found that those who’d had acne growing up had longer telomeres than those who didn’t have to deal with pimples. Breast milk can change its composition 3:32 A mother’s milk can change its composition if her baby is sick. Researchers at Harvard University have noticed that when a breastfeeding infant is ill, it transmits a signal to its mother’s body through its saliva. Once mom’s body gets this SOS, it produces more antibodies and transmits them to the baby through the breast milk. A thick beard is a sign of future baldness 4:06 The thicker a man’s beard and the faster it grows, the more likely he is to suffer from baldness later on in life. As strange and scary as it might sound, it was actually proven by French scientists at the University of Lyon. The reason why men go bald is that the lack of hair on the head helps compensate for the heat created by a growing beard; thus, the optimal body heat balance is maintained. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Acne slows down aging 0:54 Babies cry with an accent 1:41 Cockroaches can bite 2:31 Cats have an internal compass 3:07 Breast milk can change its composition 3:32 A thick beard is a sign of future baldness 4:06 The "Cholesterol-free" label on vegetable oil is merely a marketing ploy 4:47 Men also have PMS 5:30 There is such a thing as “joke addiction” 6:15 Watermelon snow is a real thing 7:22 Only 22% of people can wiggle their ears 8:03 People who constantly complain live longer 8:45 Red cabbage can change color in different kinds of water 9:33 An hourglass figure speaks of high intelligence 10:03 Lovers hearts beat in sync 10:57 SUMMARY -The cells of people who had acne in their youth have better built-in protection against aging. -German scientists have found that infants cry with an intonation similar to that of their mother’s speech. -Cockroach bites can cause irritation, swelling, and sometimes even lesions. -Cat’s brain cells are sensitive to the Earth’s magnetic field, giving them a sort of internal compass. -A mother’s milk can change its composition if her baby is sick. -The thicker a man’s beard and the faster it grows, the more likely he is to suffer from baldness later on in life. -“Cholesterol-free” oil has tons of polyunsaturated fats and getting too much of those can throw the balance of healthy natural fats in your body all out of whack. -Men experience a similar syndrome called IMS, or Irritable Male Syndrome to be more precise. -Sometimes when a person suffers from some traumatic brain injury, they’ll have an abnormally hyped-up sense of humor after their recovery. -The Sierra Nevada in California is hiding something really special in the summer time: pink watermelon snow. -Only 22% of the world’s population can move each of their ears one by one, and a mere 18% can wiggle both ears at the same time. -Pessimists relieve themselves of stress when they let their negative feelings out and thus live longer. -The color of red cabbage can change depending on the water it’s being cooked in due to the fact that water pH levels differ. -Curvy women in particular develop more omega-3 fatty acids and store them on their hips which contributes to a more active development of the brain. -When a man is in love, his heart beats in the same rhythm as the heart of his partner. Starseed Activation Meditation is here ➡ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT_3W0ROkT4&t=286s ➡For my 7 Day Law of Attraction Morning routine Course Click below ➡ http://bit.ly/2ESuSPq ➡Click here for the Law of Attraction Accelerator Program (limited discount) ➡ http://bit.ly/2oPX10s #lawofattraction #spirituality #awakening In this video, I'm going to be sharing with you the three things that all Starseeds agreed to before they were born but may have forgotten. These are going to be things that absolutely transform your life, and help you to literally, remember who you really are at a greater level. Welcome back to another video. My name's Aaron, and I help people expand their consciousness. Now, on this video, I'm going to be sharing with you that of understanding more about Starseeds and the agreements that you have made before you came into this life, and the importance of this is and the power of this is knowing that first off, if you are here right now watching this video, then you are a Starseed. Because, you would not perceive or even resonate with something like this or even the word 'Starseeds' to click on the video unless, you were at some level connected to this part of yourself, to this aspect of you. And a lot of times when it comes to Starseeds in general, people misinterpret what it means. A Starseed is somebody that is aware of their multidimensionality and whose aware of a larger sense of mission. My guess is that you being here right now, you also have a ... Inside of you, you feel a yearning for some type of greater mission that you came for. Even if you don't understand exactly what that is right now, you know that there's something greater to your life then maybe what you're currently living. Now, the truth is, we are all multidimensional beings, which means that we exist at many level different levels at the same time. Now, when we are at earth, what we could call earth, which is where we are right now. What we do is, we forget who we are. We go through what is called a 'veil of forgetfulness'. In this veil of forgetfulness, we forget that we are immortal spiritual beings living temporary human experiences, and we forget that we have a connection to the stars. Because we are such infinite spiritual beings, we are not limited to only having life experiences on earth. Earth is one small sector of the whole overall universe and we have connections at many different layers. And everyone has connections like this. The difference is that Starseeds are more aware of this multidimensionality and they also have a mission for bringing forth this information in this life. So that is something that you are bringing through in this life. Is you are carrying your light with you, and that is influencing everyone that you're around. And impacting people in a powerful way, because right now on the planet, there is an awakening that is happening at mass levels. Sometimes you may look around and it may seem, what spiritual awakening? What mass awakening is happening right now? But old structures are falling away because we are now allowing a new energy to come forth, because now is the time of awakening. If you were to study or look at the books of Delores Cannon, if you want more information on this. Delores Cannon was a Hypnotherapist back in the day, she's been around since I think the 60s or the 70s. And she passed away about five years ago and she's known for a technique that is called, "QHHT". Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, what she was able to do is get people to the deepest levels of brain wave activity. What she would do is have their higher self come through, and then she could ask them any question that she'd want, and their higher self would answer it. So it's almost like the subconscious mind would communicate. And what questions she could ask is, "Why did this person incarnate at this time? What is this person's mission in this life? What is it like life in-between lives? Who was this person in "past life"? Who was this person or who is this person in "future life"?" The idea is that, any question that came through the higher self, Delores would ask and get an answer. Through thousands and thousands of these different transcripts, which are in her book, which ... Books, which she has about 17 or 19 books. In all of these books, are transcripts of people in this type of state and bringing forth this kind of energy. Now, a very consistent thing that she was able to notice through thousands and thousands of people is that, people would go into this hypnotic state, into the deepest levels of the subconscious... 15 Useless Body Parts That We Don't Really Need. We can surprisingly live without these 15 body parts. If you ever thought that all people are built the same, think again. If you thought that all our body parts are vitally important, you were not right again. In the first chapter of The Descent of Man, Charles Darwin identified roughly a dozen body parts that he gleefully described as "useless, or nearly useless." Darwin's catalog was far from complete: our bodies are littered with the parts we don't need. TIMESTAMPS Body hair 1:01 Paranasal sinuses 1:40 Extrinsic ear muscles 2:05 Wisdom teeth 2:45 Neck rib 3:39 Palmaris muscle 4:20 Male nipples 4:54 Arrector pili muscles 5:36 Appendix 6:39 Thirteenth rib 7:40 Coccyx 8:10 Third eyelid 8:57 Darwin's point 9:37 Subclavius muscle 10:20 Toes 10:48 SUMMARY - Apparently, most hair on the human body serves no function, so it is very likely to get extinct in the future! Besides brows perhaps, they keep sweat from our eyes. - And we have a lot: frontal, ethmoidal, sphenoidal, maxillary sinuses. In fact, no one knows why we still have these troublesome mucus-lined cavities! - Some animals, rabbits, and dogs, for example, can move their ears independently. How does it happen? Thanks to these exotic-sounding muscles. But you know what? People also have them! - As human jaws have become smaller in the process of evolution, the rest of people simply don’t have space in their mouths for these teeth! Back in the days when toothpaste didn’t exist, they were kind of backup grinders. - Have you never heard about neck ribs? It is a set of cervical ribs, possibly a leftover from the age of reptiles. They still appear in less than 1 percent of the population. - There is a long narrow muscle running from the elbow to the wrist. It is already missing in 11 percent of humans today, so it is a safe bet that with time it will disappear completely. - Nipples are present in both males and females. Men generally lack the necessary levels of prolactin to stimulate lactation and typically cannot produce milk. - Goosebumps are the indicator of them at work. We get them when we are frightened, amazed or cold. Apparently, we have lost most of the fur and acquired warm clothes. We don’t need any additional protection from freezing temperatures or the source to intimidate our rivals anymore. - Some research shows that an appendix can be, in fact, useful! It might store special bacteria good for those who suffer from diarrhea. - Our closest cousins, chimpanzees, and gorillas have an extra set of ribs. What about humans? Most of us have 12, except for 8% of adults - they have an extra one! - It's all that is left of the tail that most mammals still use for balance and communication. What is more, there have been 100 documented cases of babies who were born with a tail. What is the purpose of a tail-bone? There is none. - A third eyelid, you will ask, do we have it? Yes, we, humans, retain a tiny fold in the inner corner of the eye. It is what is left from a membrane birds, and mammals have had for protecting the eye and sweeping out debris, at the same time providing visibility. - Darwin's point is a small folded point of skin toward the top of each ear that is occasionally found in modern humans. It may be a remnant of a larger shape that helped to focus distant sounds. Nowadays only 10% of people have this “greeting from the past.” - Subclavius muscle is a small muscle which stretches under the shoulder from the first rib to the collarbone. It would be beneficial if humans were still walking on all fours. - Scientists have found out that humans used to walk and balance more in the middle of their feet, but now we have gradually transferred to balancing more toward the side of our big toe. How has the Internet impacted our lives? Gadgets and technology play a part in our lives, but it literally is just a part. Don’t ever succumb to panic — real life is definitely still out there despite the huge affect that the Internet has to modern life. Nevertheless, it’s funny to think about the hundreds of little ways it has changed our behavior. Here are ten of the ones we’ve noticed. How many do you recognize? TIMESTAMPS: Kids and gadgets 0:32 The age of the selfie 0:55 Social media benefits 1:35 Why you should take your phone to the bathroom 1:56 Google or mother? 2:23 The Internet and flirting 2:42 The power of likes 3:10 Everything’s for TV shows fans 3:30 Are modern pirates dangerous? 3:47 What are you thinking about at 3 a.m.? 4:06 #internetage #informationage #modernlife SUMMARY: - These days, it’s almost impossible to make kids play outside the house. Well, sometimes they do go outside, but only if you allow them to take their gadgets with them. - Before the Internet-era, we used to take a real camera with us on our trips. Moving on to these days: ‘Did you pack the selfie stick? – Sure! And I’m using it right right now! Smile!’ - Years ago, you had to call a newspaper to place your ad to sell a car. Welcome to today: you just click-click-click on Facebook – and done! Here you go: ‘Hey guys, I’m selling my car, please share, repost!’ - A few clicks on your phone – and a toilet paper is delivered to you by one of your family members. Just don’t forget to take your phone to the bathroom. - These days, you hardly meet people in person anymore – instead, you get personal messages. Something like ‘Hey, sweetie, what’s the difference between you and a shining star?’. - Nowadays, you can download three seasons of your favorite show altogether and binge on them during the weekend. - These days, pirates look more like this. Their treasure is free media all over the Internet – and they don’t even have to leave their houses to get it. - Nowadays, it’s 3 a.m., you are supposed to be up at 6 a.m., but you suddenly need to know what celery dreams about. 10 strange facts about ancient people that will amaze you and make you say “WOW!” Have you ever heard about any of them? As technologies and new research methods develop, we are learning more and more about ancient people and their customs. However, the more we learn about their lives, the more this knowledge shocks us because some of the things our ancient predecessors did seem too bizarre even for the most open-minded person today. TIMESTAMPS Women used lead and sulfur to dye their hair 0:47 Glass balls and ground rubber were used as breast implants 1:53 Animal droppings were used for medical purposes 2:47 Doctors drilled holes in people’s heads to release evil spirits 3:52 Women were hired to cry at funerals 4:47 Fathers could legally kill their daughters’ lovers 5:20 In ancient Rome, fathers could sell their sons into slavery 6:03 Doctors used garlic to test for pregnancy 6:49 Ancient Egyptians shaved off their eyebrows to mourn their cats 7:45 There were public bathrooms in ancient Rome 8:44 SUMMARY - Ancient people used to use plant materials to dye their hair, but the effect didn’t last long, and as you know, there were much more important things to do than to care about your hair color. That’s why the Greeks and the Romans used a permanent hair dye that consisted of different toxic chemicals, including sulfur. - Some women put topical treatments or homemade creams on their bosoms to make them bigger. Others massaged coconut oil into their skin. But these methods aren’t all that radical. The first breast reconstructive surgery wasn’t performed until 1895 by Doctor Vincenz Czerny. - In ancient Egypt, warriors applied animal excrement to their wounds! If you think that’s crazy, check out our video about 14 Strange Ways of Life the Ancient Egyptians Practiced! - Doctors have always been fascinated with the human body and tried different methods to cure illnesses. Drilling holes, or “trepanation”, was one of them, and doctors used to believe that it could remedy such ailments as seizures, headaches, and infections. - In Ancient Rome, many families hired special women to weep at funerals in order to impress the crowd. They usually followed the procession, and to make their grief believable, the women would scratch at their cheeks to draw blood and rip out their hair. - Fathers had a very strong influence on the entire family and especially on their unmarried daughters. In fact, they had the right to choose a good husband for them. - The father was the head of the family and possessed absolute power over his wife and children. So, they also had the right to decide whether or not to keep newborn babies in the family. If they chose not to, they could sell their sons into slavery. If the person who bought the slave didn’t need him anymore, the sons could go back to their parent’s home. - The lack of detailed medical knowledge of anatomy didn’t allow doctors to say for sure why some women could get pregnant while others couldn’t. Because of this, they tried different natural ways to test for pregnancy. - Ancient Egyptian families mourned the death of a family cat by shaving off their eyebrows. The cat’s body was embalmed and adorned with a wood-carved mask. Then the tiny cat mummy was placed in a family tomb or in a cat cemetery. - People in ancient Rome used all possible means to take care of their personal hygiene. They regularly visited public baths and toilets and used cleansers and bath sponges. Which of these things amazed you the most? Tell us in the comments section below! The history of the pire State Building is full of dark stories and unusual facts. It was the first commercial building project built with the use of the fast-track construction technique. More than 3,500 men worked at the construction site. The workers were paid exceptionally well. Final construction costs are $24.7 million. The Empire State Building, with its incredible height, became a tempting destination for those who want to commit suicide. And the first suicide happens even before the Empire State Building is finished. Several people jump from the observation deck in 1947. That's when the deck gets its “suicide fence.” TIMESTAMPS: A great skyscraper race 1:11 Why a spire was added to the project plan 3:15 When excavation for the Empire State Building began 4:25 When it was completed 7:25 How long it remained the tallest building in the world 8:06 How many people commited suicide there 8:55 The most tragic event in the life of the skyscraper 10:06 #empirestatebuilding #newyorkhistory #scysсrapers Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The story we're interested in starts in the year 1929. Walter Chrysler, the founder of Chrysler Corporation, is planning to participate in the skyscraper race. He starts the construction of the 1,046-ft Chrysler Building. - Architect William F. Lamb creates the original drawing of the future Empire State Building. This enormous task takes him only 2 weeks. The center of the building is very compact, containing toilets, shafts, hallways, vertical circulation, and mail chutes. - This enormous project is supposed to be done in a mere 18 months. General contractors Starrett Brothers and Eken win this job. They immediately get down to their unusual task. - Most probably to out-scale the Chrysler building, Mr. Raskob demands that his building should have “a hat.” That's how a crafty spire is added to the project plan. - In January 1930, excavation for the Empire State Building begins. Simultaneously, contractors demolish the original Waldorf Astoria Hotel, which was the previous occupant of the site. - The speed at which the frame of the future skyscraper rises is incredible: 4 and a half stories every week. This project becomes a model of efficiency. The contractors and engineers create different innovations that save money, manpower, and time. - Besides the steel frame, the project needs 10 million bricks, 200,000 ft² of granite and limestone, 62,000 yd³ of concrete, and 10,000 ft² of marble. On top of that, 300,000 ft² of marble is used for the office floors, hallways, and elevator lobbies. More than 3,500 men work at the construction site. - The Empire State Building is completed on April 11, 1931, well ahead of time. Instead of the planned 18 months, the construction process takes only 15. Final construction costs are $24.7 million instead of the expected $43 million. - For the length of its history, since 1931, the building has seen more than 30 people end their lives. The first suicide happens even before the Empire State Building is finished. Several people jump from the observation deck in 1947. - But the most tragic event in the life of the skyscraper takes place in 1945. On July 28, Lt. Colonel William Smith crashes a B-25 bomber into the north wall of the Empire State Building. Whether you’ve seen her portrayed on the big screen, you learned about her in school, or probably a combination of both, Cleopatra is definitely one of the most well-known names out there! She was the last Egyptian pharaoh and without a doubt one of the most influential women in the history of humankind. But because the story of the queen’s life has been told in so many books and movies, it can be hard to separate historical facts from fiction. But we’re about to bust some of the most popular myths about Cleopatra and open your eyes to several peculiar facts of her real biography. TIMESTAMPS Cleopatra married two of her younger brothers. 1:15 Julius Caesar erected a statue of her in the Temple of Venus Genetrix. 2:40 Mark Antony once skipped an invasion to spend time with Cleo. 4:10 She wasn’t exactly a beauty. 5:14 Cleopatra wasn't just a ruler, she was a mother too. 5:56 She loved spending money, but not only on herself. 6:31 Cleopatra might not have died from a snake bite. 6:55 She could speak Egyptian Arabic. 7:40 Cleopatra's famous makeup was a sort of protection. 8:45 Cleopatra owned a perfume factory. 9:37 Bonus: Cleopatra spent money on a cocktail that would be equivalent to over $16 million today 10:21 #cleopatrafacts #cleo #juliuscaesar Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Cleopatra ended up marrying her little brother, Ptolemy XIII, who was just 10 at the time. After his death, which occurred several years later, she married her other brother, Ptolemy XIV. -Caesar erected a statue of Cleopatra in the Venus Temple in Rome. -Cleopatra showed up to her first meeting with Mark Antony dressed as the Greek goddess Aphrodite. To no surprise, Mark Antony was impressed, and that's how their partnership started. -Her contemporaries saw her beauty not so much in her looks but in her wit, character, and irresistible charisma. -While Cleopatra didn't have any children with her brothers, she did have kids from both Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. -Cleopatra did spend around 50% of her share of the kingdom’s income on beauty and other luxuries. But she was also an extremely efficient ruler who cared about her people. -Ancient historian Strabo wrote that Cleopatra always had a comb soaked in poison with her, so she possibly could’ve killed herself with it. -People in Cleopatra's family spoke Greek and had Greek traditions. Cleopatra was the first in her family to accept the local culture, ancient customs, and Egyptian gods. -Cleopatra’s makeup contained 4 lead-based substances and was used to fend off eye infections, which were common in Ancient Egypt. -The ruins of Cleopatra’s perfume factory were found near Ein Gedi, which is situated on the Dead Sea. That place was also used as a beauty salon and spa. -Cleopatra once had a bet with Mark Antony that she could spend 10 million sesterces, equivalent to $16.7 million today on just one dinner. If you believe that people were less eccentric in the past than they are today, think of their fashions and traditions. Maybe you’ll change your opinion. We’ve gathered twelve really strange things that our ancestors thought normal. TIMESTAMPS The first and second sleep 0:32 Live alarm clocks 1:11 Dresses for boys 1:49 Chopines 2:30 Bloodletting against all diseases 3:04 Poor hygiene 3:33 Post-mortem photos 4:09 Radioactive beauty products 4:44 Heroin as a cough remedy 5:35 Smoking onboard planes 6:09 Bathing machines 6:35 Rocks as toilet paper 7:11 #interestingfacts #historicalfacts SUMMARY - The first sleep started at sunset and lasted until about midnight; then people would wake up and stay awake for 2-3 hours. Some used that time to pray or read, and some spent it with their family or neighbors. - A knocker-upper was a profession that existed from the mid-18th century until the 1950s. Their job was to wake people who had to get up early. They knocked on their clients’ windows with sticks or shot at them with peashooters. - From the 16th century and until around 1920, it was customary for little boys up until a certain age (4-8 years) to wear dresses. The main reason was perhaps the high cost of clothing: dresses were easier to make "to grow into." - Chopines, also known as zoccoli or pianelle, are a kind of platform shoe up to 20 inches (50 cm) high. Small wonder that those who wore them required the help of servants in order not to fall victim to fashion. - This treatment mode was popular for 2,000 years up until the early 20th century. Bloodletting was practiced to treat any ailment and often did more harm than good, weakening the patient even further. - Isabella I of Castille was proud of the fact that she only washed twice in her life: at birth and before her wedding. According to one testimony, a cavalier once made a comment upon her dirty hands and nails, to which the Queen replied, “Oh, if only you could see my feet!” - Another custom that today seems very bizarre. However, in the 19th century, it was a way to preserve the memory of deceased loved ones. - In the early 20th century, radiation was perceived exclusively as a positive phenomenon, which swindlers didn’t fail to take advantage of: you could buy cosmetics, food, and drinks enriched with radium and thorium, radioactive souvenirs, and even devices for saturating water with radioactive elements. - Surprisingly, 100 years ago, heroin was considered a harmless alternative to morphine and was sold in pharmacies as a cough medicine. It was later discovered that heroin turns into morphine in the liver, and in 1924 its use was prohibited. - As recently as 50 or 60 years ago, smoking wasn’t regarded as that bad a habit. People didn’t deny themselves this dubious pleasure even during flights, regardless of the presence of other passengers. - Unlike us, people in the 18th and 19th centuries couldn’t just go into the water on the beach. They had to use bathing machines: special carts that looked like beach huts. - The list of things people used before the invention of toilet paper could go on and on. It includes plant leaves, corn cobs, coconut shells, sheep wool and cloth (for those who could afford them), sponge on a stick, or just water. How to survive a really dangerous situation? How to save your life and help others? If you ever find yourself in a critical situation, it's better to know what you should do and what mistakes you should avoid. These 14 survival hacks might save your life one day. If you ever find yourself in the open sea, here’s what you have to know. There is food in the ocean, but you will have to hunt after it. To get water, make a distiller. It consists of 2 containers (large and small) and a piece of polyethylene. Use some of your clothes to cover your head and eyes from the Sun. If you are trapped under a building, the air becomes your most valuable resource. Screaming will make your panic even worse, fasten your breathing and the heartbeat, and speed the airflow. You don’t want to lose any extra oxygen. Take off your shirt or T-shirt and tie it around your head. It will protect you from suffocation when dust and dirt get in your face. To scare off a wild beast, make as much noise as possible and get aggressive. Shout, howl, talk loudly and slowly step back. An animal who has rabies will leave a wound that will bleed for a long time; then it will turn red and swell. Then you will feel a strong itching, get a fever and feel very annoyed. TIMESTAMPS If you are in the open sea 0:44 If you get lost in a desert 1:57 If you are trapped under a building or in a cave 2:40 If you run into a wolf or a stray dog 3:21 Make waterproof matches 4:03 If you are bitten by a venomous snake 4:28 How to tell if you were bitten by a rabid animal 5:27 How to properly signal SOS 6:07 Learn how to stitch up all kinds of wounds 6:45 A rescue capsule that will save your life 7:12 Stay afloat with bound or damaged hands 7:53 How to set a wet tree on fire 8:38 How to shoot properly 9:18 Fish trap 9:45 Music: Alternate History by HolFix (https://soundcloud.com/holfix) is licensed under a Creative Commons license (https://www.youtube.com/redirect?v=LNBfOLbNCD0&event=video_description&q=http%3A%2F%2Fcreativecommons.org%2Flicenses%2Fby-sa%2F3.0%2F&redir_token=7MHzzjmqxTcfmY60WO1vWUjhDhh8MTUyMjEzNjQ1M0AxNTIyMDUwMDUz) SUMMARY -Three things will help you survive in this huge “basin” of salt water: food, water, and the right body temperature. -If you get lose in the desert, try to move around at night. Did our ancestors have smartphones?! How accurate were their predictions about robots?! We’ve found 11 things that had emerged much earlier than we originally thought. It’s a little-known fact, but some "modern" inventions actually appeared centuries or even millennia ago. Claiming that all ancient people were primitive is a blatant injustice. As a bonus, we’ll tell you when the modern versions came along! TIMESTAMPS Prosthetics and plastic surgery 0:49 Sewage system 1:35 Battery 2:30 Flamethrower 3:13 Alarm clock 4:06 Robots 4:59 Automatic doors 6:01 Vending machine 6:44 Odometer 7:26 Seismoscope 8:09 Sunglasses 9:01 Bonus #1 10:04 Bonus #2 10:43 #ancienttechnology #historicalfacts #originsofthings SUMMARY - The first time plastic surgery was applied in the modern times was right after the Great War, in 1917. The aim of it was to help soldiers that sustained terrible facial injuries. - For the longest time, the Roman knowledge was ignored. Only around the middle of the 19th century, when cities grew bigger, and the health risk from poor sewage systems became apparent, some of the ancient technologies were used again. - One of the first batteries that worked “as designed” was the “voltaic pile,” created by an Italian scientist Alessandro Volta. This battery could continuously produce an electric current. - The prototype of this formidable weapon was first used in the Battle of Delium. The ancient fire thrower, or "Greek fire," was a copper tube used to project a combustible liquid mixture. Compressed air or large bellows served as a buoyancy force. - Unlike many other technologies on this list, alarm clocks didn’t disappear after they were invented. For some time, most of them became public, working atop of clock towers, but around the 15th-century personal alarm clocks made their comeback. - The prototypes of modern robots were female figures mounted on the lighthouse on the island of Pharos. At regular time intervals, they turned and struck the bells. At night, they made loud trumpeting sounds, warning seafarers of the proximity of the shore. - Automatic temple doors were already known in Ancient Greece. Back then, they were run by Hero’s aeolipile, the oldest prototype of the steam engine. The fire was built on the altar, under which pipes carrying water were concealed. The steam activated a system of blocks connected to the doors. - In our time, vending machines can sell anything imaginable, from toys to freshly baked pizza. Back in the day, you could only buy holy water for washing your hands in temples from them. After depositing a coin into the device, it would set in motion a mechanism that issued a portion of water to the customer. - Throughout history, the need to measure distances rarely went away, and so they’ve been regularly used and improved since the 17th century. They became standard equipment for cars in 1925. - Another invention of Zhang Heng is a seismoscope that could react to an upcoming earthquake. It was a rather peculiar but precise construction: a bronze ball was projected from one of 8 tubes shaped as dragon heads, and it fell into the mouth of a corresponding metal toad that sat under them, indicating the direction where the shocks were coming from. - It is a common belief that sunglasses were invented by the Inuit who had to protect their eyes from "snow blindness." Their sunglasses didn’t have actual glass: they were Walrus ivory goggles with narrow slits. The first sunglasses with glass (smoky quartz, actually) appeared later, in 12th-century China. They were used to hide the wearer’s facial expression rather than as protection against sunlight. 20 Insane optical Illusions that you won't believe, they trick your brain and your eye! Focus hard on these mind bending illusions. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr Motion Illusion 11. This image is hard to perceive A rational person would think that this is a GIF. However, a rational person would be wrong. This is not a GIF; rather it is an image created to give off the perception of motion when there is none. Motion illusions are one of the hardest to grasp illusions... Penrose Staircase 10. The Penrose staircase is a classic illusion that illustrates another form of an impossible object. The staircase is a geographic shape, and if one were to climb it, they would never ascend nor descend. Rather the climber would stay at the same level and could walk around on it forever without ever going anywhere. This is a difficult to grasp illusion that has been around for quite some time. Penrose Triangle 9. The penrose triangle is another impossible object that cannot be fully perceived. It illustrates a triangle that seems to be made of four-sided rectangular bars. Each bar seems to come out of one side of the preceding bar and into the other side of the next. However, this is an illusion because this object is geometrically possible due to the fact the it is two-dimensional, not three like it seems to be. Ponzo Illusion 8. The Ponzo illusion is another old style illusion that illustrates the flaw in human depth perception. If you look at two lines of the exact same length sittion on a track extending out before you in a two-dimensional image, the one closer to you seems smaller, and the further one appears to be quite a bit large. However, if you measure the length of the bottom line with your fingers on the image and then measure the top line you will see that the two yellow lines are the exact same length. White’s Illusion 7. This is another illusion that is similar to the shadow checker illusion. All of the gray rectangles in this image are the exact same shade of gray. However, due to their location in relation to the black lines, the ones in row A appear to be darker than the ones in row B. This illusion shows a flaw in human tone perception. Zollner Illusion 6. The Zollner illusion is an exceptionally confusing illusion in which it becomes difficult to distinguish whether a line is parallel to the one next to it or not. All of the long lines in this image run entirely parallel and are straight next to each other. They would never overlap. However, due to the skewed shorter lines that cover the long lines, it looks as if the long lines are pointing inwards and outwards like they are all over the place. They are entirely parallel. Filling-In Illusion 5. The Filling-In illusion is a simple illusion that is merely a play on human perception. If you stare at the red dot in the center of the blue circle long enough the blue circle will appear to fade and then disappear until you refocus your vision. This is purely an illusion, but it seems as if it actually disappears from reality altogether. Fraser Spiral Illusion 4. The Fraser spiral illusion is one that is almost impossible to perceive with human eyes. This illusion looks as if it is a collection spirals that are spinning inwards. However, it is not made of any spirals whatsoever, and this is where the confusion comes in. It is actually made up of various overlapping circles. The crisscrossing background makes it seem as if it spirals, but really it is only made of circles. Shiny Legs 3. This is an illusion that has appeared all over social media in recent years and is something like the ancestor of The Dress Illusion. When you first look at this picture, it looks as if the legs shown are shiny and perhaps wrapped in some sort of plastic. However, they are not shiny, and light streaks that you perceive as reflections of light are in fact just lines of white paint. It may be hard to grasp this at first, but after looking at it for a few moments, you will realize that these legs are not shiny at all. Autostereogram Illusion 2. An autostereogram is an illusion that is very common in the digital world. What you see as a three-dimensional image is actually a two-dimensional image with contextual layering drawn into it. The chessboard shown in the picture is only drawn in 2D but looks to be a 3D image. The Dress 1. The Dress is an illusion that blew up on various social media outlets. The controversy over the dress is that to some people dress seems to be white and gold while to others it appears to be a mixture of light and dark blue. The Dress is designed to absorb light in a peculiar way that throws off visual senses. The real color of The Dress is both perceptions of color. It is both blue and white-gold. It is hard to perceive this, but it really just depends on the lighting in which The Dress is viewed.

People tend to associate an illness with something unpleasant and often dangerous, and they have their reasons to think so. But there are some diseases which, unlike a common cold, look like superpowers. At least at first sight. In this video, you will get acquainted with some of them. These rare diseases not only leave scientists confused but also make their carriers similar to superheroes! Have you caught a cold? Oh, how unlucky! All these nasty symptoms again: a runny nose, non-stop coughing, and also, it hurts to eat! But you know what? Quit nagging! Your illness will pass in (about) a week. But imagine the life of those who suffer from chronic diseases! TIMESTAMPS Super memory 1:06 Insensibility to pain 2:28 Abilities to literally anything 3:47 Insensitivity to cold 5:01 The complete absence of fear 5:58 The Vampire disorder 7:03 Octopus people 8:38 Stone Man Syndrome 9:38 Werewolf Syndrome 10:20 Foreign accent syndrome 11:21 SUMMARY - This condition is called hyperthymesia - a disruption of memory which causes a person to remember all the events of their life down to every last detail. There are just about 60 people in the world who have been diagnosed with such a unique disease. - In-born analgesia - that's a scientific name of the condition when a person doesn't feel pain. Like, at all. There is a surprising fact to think about: despite the rareness of this disease, as many as 40 cases of it have been registered in one of the villages in Sweden. - Savant syndrome is a rare condition which might be typical for people with developmental disorders, such as autism or Asperger's syndrome. Patients with such condition are extremely talented in music, drawing and painting, calculations, cartography, and constructing 3D models. - Besides people who don't react to pain, there are those who are indifferent to cold. A vivid example is Wim Hof - a man from the Netherlands who brought doctors to their wit's end. The thing is Wim is able to stand very low temperatures. He managed to spend 120 minutes in a pipe with freezing water and ice, has climbed to the top of Mont Blanc wearing shorts (and his pen), and even swims under the ice of frozen lakes and rivers. - Urbach-Wiethe disease is a rare genetic disorder which leads to the complete lack of fear. Only 300 cases are known, and a quarter of them have been registered in South Africa. - Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia. People suffering from this condition frequently have eerily pointed teeth, therefore, looking similar to the legendary blood-feeding creatures from horror films. People with more prominent symptoms of this illness are extremely thin and pale; their eyes are outlined with dark circles. - Polymelia is a strange disorder. People suffering from it are born with an unusual number of limbs. In some cases, these limbs are pretty useful, in others they are non-functioning. - This syndrome is genetic, what is more, it progresses throughout life. People with such a disease have the soft tissues of their bodies turning into bone. The mutation of the ACVR1 gene responsible for the development of different tissues of the human body leads to terrible consequences. - The hair growth of such people is abnormal. All their bodies are covered with thick hair, it grows, long and lush, even on their faces. The reason for this condition which has gained the nickname "werewolf syndrome" is most likely to be the genetic mutation. - Foreign accent syndrome. The most common reason for this condition is a head injury or a stroke. The person with this condition changes the way they place their tongue during speaking. The most effective treatment, in this case, is the speech therapy. Which disease have you found the most shocking? Have you ever met anybody with the conditions described in the video? These 10 real pictures were taken by ordinary people with conventional photographic equipment and certainly weren’t edited. And this fact gives us even more questions. While some of these stories are only interesting to your friends or family, some images gave birth to endless discussions and made history. Prepare to be amazed, as you will see evidence of time travel, ghost photos, and pyramids... on the Moon! TIMESTAMPS A monster off the coast of Hook Island 0:46 Hessdalen Valley Lights 1:26 "Black Knight" 2:07 Babushka Lady 2:42 The Falling Man 3:34 Tank Man 4:17 A cell phone in Chaplin’s movie 5:05 An astronaut from Solway Firth 5:41 Sir Goddard’s squadron 6:42 Pyramids on the Moon 7:34 SUMMARY - Many people on the Internet believe this picture was photoshopped. However, it was taken long before Photoshop was created. In 1965 the photographer, Robert Le Serreс, noticed a suspicious object near Hook Island in Australia. He immediately took a photo of the monster, which is still the subject of zoologists’ discussions. - This shot was taken by a Norwegian photographer with a 30-second exposure. It isn’t the only evidence of the existence of strange luminous objects flying over the Hessdalen valley in central Norway. People living in the Valley first noticed and reported these strange lights in 1981. Spectral analysis shows that this object consists of silicon, iron, and scandium. - This unidentified object was first captured by an artificial satellite in 1960. NASA specialists immediately named it "Black Knight." Since then, the mysterious object keeps appearing and disappearing from the Earth’s orbit. There is a whole satellite conspiracy theory about it. - On November 22, 1963, the American President John Kennedy was shot dead in Dallas. There are still many unanswered questions connected with this assassination. One of them has to do with a mysterious woman holding a camera in one hand. She was caught on camera by some photographers. The woman was wearing a headscarf in an old Russian ladies manner, so she was nicknamed Babushka Lady. - This shot was taken by photographer Richard Drew on the day of the terrorist attack on September 11. The photo of the falling man went viral and made it to many news sources worldwide in a matter of hours. - This photo was taken in Beijing during the riots of 1989. In Tiananmen Square, an unknown young man held up the column of tanks for half an hour, blocking the way with his body. It's still a mystery who that man was or what happened to him after. - In 2010, a DVD with bonus frames from the filming of Charlie Chaplin’s 1928 movie The Circus was released. One of the frames shows a woman holding something very similar to a modern cell phone. - In 1964, Jim Templeton took a photo of his 5-year-old daughter in the countryside. Jim and his wife said they noticed something unusual in the air that day, something like an electric charge. A few days later when the film was developed, it was clear there was something extraordinary about the shot... - There is one strange photograph in the photo album of Sir Goddard’s squadron who fought in the First World War. If you look closely at the back row of soldiers, you will see an extra face behind the fourth sailor on the left. - Astronauts were actively taking pictures using Hasselblad cameras during the mission. Some of them were just good material for space exploration science, but one turned out to be unique. It might look like an average overexposed photo, and it was first listed as such in the archives. #mysteryphotos #rarephotos Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

People share accepted opinions on every famous historical event. However, there is a chance that some of them were imposed on us by the powers that be, possibly for their profit. The alternative does not always mean correct, and they are not officially recognized (however, we wish the last point was true!) TIMESTAMPS New Egyptian discoveries 0:42 Fortune hunting in Troy 2:02 The Pearl Harbor attack was provoked by the USA 2:40 The chronology mix-up 3:21 Michael Jackson faked his death and moved to Bahrain 5:11 Titanic sinking alternative theories 6:31 SUMMARY - Scientists still debate the year of construction of the Egyptian pyramids, the world’s oldest monumental structures. It sounds funny, but the date difference goes from several centuries to 1,000 years! The deep furrows on the Sphinx’s body were proved to be the remains of water erosion. However, the weather in Egypt had not been so rainy for at least 8,000 years. This brings us to the conclusion that the Sphinx might be more than 8,000 years old. - It is commonly believed that the city of Troy was most likely situated on the Turkish hill Hisarlik and later discovered by archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann. However, his colleagues doubted his discovery and considered him to be a fortune hunter. - One theory suggests that Franklin D. Roosevelt understood that the only way to influence world history was to interfere in World War II, although American society strongly held different opinions. This theory claims that Roosevelt provoked Japan to start the attack by proposing an ultimatum document: the "Hull note." - Isaac Newton was the first to recognize a mix-up in his monumental work The Chronology of Ancient Kingdoms Amended. There were a lot of mismatches. For example, there is a huge disambiguation about the total number of Egyptian Pharaohs: the lists of rulers differ one from another. - Version № 1 suggests that the sunken ship was the Olympic, an identical ship to the Titanic. The Olympic was constructed a year before and was accidentally damaged with no insurance to cover the costs. To pay the damages, White Star Line came up with the case of the century: they decided to secretly switch the vessels before the sailing. They wanted to send the old and damaged Olympic instead of the new Titanic, fake the crash in the sea, evacuate the passengers to the nearest ships, and easily get the insurance money. But the harsh reality showed that the old Olympic sank too quickly, and the nearest ships were not near enough to save the passengers. After watching this video, crooked teeth, excess weight, and other peculiarities may not seem such disadvantages as before... TIMESTAMPS Crooked teeth (Japan) 0:37 Scarification (Western Africa, New Guinea) 1:20 A heart-shaped face (South Korea) 2:20 Excess weight (Mauritania) 3:19 Surgical dressings on the face (Iran) 4:17 Pale skin (China, Thailand) 5:44 A high forehead (the Fula people) 6:46 A long neck (Burma) 7:39 Stretched lips and red skin (the Mursi people) 8:23 Monobrows (Tajikistan) 9:33 SUMMARY - In Japan, the peak of attractiveness is the so-called "yaeba," or crooked teeth. It's believed that people look cuter if they have this quality. - The inhabitants of New Guinea and several other countries in Africa still decorate their bodies with patterns and numerous artistic scars. The scars are usually given to men during an initiation ceremony, whereas for women these "tattoos" are considered an indication of great beauty. - Possessing a heart-shaped face is seen as one of the key ways to look beautiful. And many Koreans are prepared to undergo complex operations. This often involves breaking the bones in the jaw into three pieces, removing the central part, and fusing the two others together to create a more pointed chin. - Mauritanian women have no chance of attracting a man if they don't have folds of fat on their stomach. To make sure girls obtain the desired dimensions, their parents send them to special "farms" where they can eat up to 16,000 calories a day. - Iran is the capital of rhinoplasty. Despite the high price of the procedure, men and women here are ready to pay anything for the sake of a straight nose, which is seen in this country not only as a symbol of beauty but also of a certain status in society. - In many parts of Asia, pale skin is considered to be the gold standard of beauty. If you walk into a store looking for some face cream, you're unlikely to find one that doesn't have a bleaching ingredient. - The most important attribute for a woman to possess among the Fula tribe of Africa is a high forehead. It's for this reason that some of the tribe's women remove parts of their hair from their head to create the illusion that they have one. - One of the regions of eastern Burma has been called "the country of giraffe women." This name refers to the Kayan people who live there, whose women wear brass rings around their necks. - In the Mursi tribe of Ethiopia, girls learn to stretch the skin of their lower lips using special disks. The larger the disk, the higher the girl's social status, and the larger the dowry that has to be paid before marriage. - In some regions of Tajikistan, a monobrow is considered a sign of female beauty. If nature hasn't granted a girl this desirable feature, she might decide to apply some black makeup in a line between her eyebrows. Which beauty ideal have you found the most unusual? Around 500 years ago the once flourishing Aztec Empire suddenly collapsed. Who or what killed them? Was it the Spaniards? Or perhaps some terrible epidemic? Scientists believe that the latter of the two might have been the culprit, and it looks like they’ve finally found exactly what brought on this civilization-destroying disease. Watch this video to find out how it came about and to learn some interesting facts about the Aztecs that you might not have known. TIMESTAMPS When did the Aztecs start dying? 1:14 Theories: what caused this mass dying 2:00 "The Aztecs" isn’t exactly their original name 4:25 The Aztecs kind of pre-invented basketball 4:46 The Aztecs used an interesting calendar 5:36 The Aztecs had a unique system of slavery 6:17 Polygamy was allowed to Aztec men 7:17 Nahuatl was the official language of the Aztecs 8:09 The Aztecs made amazing art 8:33 The Aztecs had a compulsory public schooling system 9:18 The Aztecs’ capital was located in the middle of a lake 9:50 The Aztecs shared chocolate with the rest of the world 10:15 SUMMARY Scientists have always had several theories as to what caused this mass dying. Well, it looks like they’ve finally found the answer in their most recent research, the results of which were published in the Nature Ecology and Evolution journal. Molecular paleopathologist Kirsten Bos and her team analyzed DNA extracted from the teeth of Aztec remains buried in what is now southern Mexico. They worked with 29 human skeletons, using the latest scientific research methods, and they found traces of the salmonella enterica bacterium! We’ve all heard of salmonella, the bacteria known for causing food poisoning. Nowadays it takes most people 4 to 7 days to recover from it on their own, but in Aztec times, things were quite different. As we know, this bacterium enters our bodies from contaminated food and water and mostly affects the gut. But finding it in their teeth means that it was spreading throughout their bodies and into their bloodstream. Who would’ve thought that something we don’t really give a second thought to today could be powerful enough to take down an entire empire! Quantum mechanics (QM also known as quantum physics or quantum theory), including quantum field theory, is a branch of physics which is the fundamental theory of nature at small scales and low energy levels of atoms and subatomic particles. Classical physics, the physics existing before quantum mechanics, derives from quantum mechanics as an approximation valid only at large (macroscopic) scales. Quantum mechanics differs from classical physics in that energy, momentum and other quantities are often restricted to discrete values (quantization), objects have characteristics of both particles and waves (wave-particle duality), and there are limits to the precision with which quantities can be known (uncertainty principle). As you experience it yourself you experience that the entire material world is nothing but vibration. When we experience the ocean of infinite waves surging within, the river of inner sensations flowing within, the eternal dance of the countless vibrations within every atom of the body. We will witnessed our continuously changing nature. All of this is happening at an extremely subtle level. As you experience the reality of matter to be vibration, you also start experiencing the reality of the mind: consciousness, perception, sensation and reaction. Science reveals that everything in the manifest universe is ultimately composed of packets of energy; quantized units vibrating at specific frequencies. Quantum physicists has shown that, although matter may appear to be solid, when you look at it through a high-powered microscope so that it is broken down into its smallest components: molecules, atoms, neutrons, electrons and quanta (the smallest particles measurable), it is ultimately mostly empty space interspersed with energy. So, in essence everything is comprised of energy and empty space. Everything that appears solid is the frequency of the vibration of the energy that makes it up. An interesting fact about this is that the denser the object, the higher the speed of vibration. At the same time, the lower the density of an object is, the lower the speed of vibration. For us, thought is where it all begins. As your conscious mind dwells habitually on thoughts of a certain quality, these become firmly imbedded within the subconscious mind. They become the dominant vibration. This dominant vibration sets up a resonance with other similar vibrations and draws them into your life. This is easier to understand if you consider that from the metaphysical view, the whole universe IS MIND. In turn, your vibrations affect everything around you – your environment, the people and animals around you, the inanimate objects, even the seemingly 'empty space' and they, in turn, affect you. Your feeling at the present moment dictates your vibration. It is said that feeling is a word to define conscious awareness of vibration. So, your feeling at the moment is your vibration you are in which sets up things of like nature. Even the great scientists said these quotes with some deep meaning, the quotes: "Everything in Life is Vibration" - Albert Einstein 'If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration" - Nikola Tesla Info Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_mechanics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Tesla https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Introduction_to_quantum_mechanics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vibration Social Pages: Like the Facebook Page! - https://www.facebook.com/facttechz/ Follow On Twitter! - https://twitter.com/facttechz Follow on Google+ - https://plus.google.com/+FactTechz/ Computer Softwares I use: Adobe Premier Pro for Video Editing Adobe After Effects for Video Compositing Sony Vegas Pro for Video Effects, Mixing and Syncing Adobe Audition for Music Bass Level Disclaimer- Some contents are used for educational purpose under fair use. The famous British passenger liner RMS Titanic sank to the ocean depths, taking with it 1,503 lives and leaving just 706 survivors. Have you ever wondered what happened to those Titanic passengers who survived after the tragedy? Well, some of them went on to live long and often incredible lives. “The Unsinkable Molly Brown”, played by Kathy Bates in the 1997 award-winning film Titanic, is one of the most popular and liked characters in the movie. Upon arriving in New York, the real Molly Brown wouldn’t leave the rescue ship until she made sure that every survivor received medical attention and found their families. Mrs. Brown was given a medal for her goodwill in helping the Titanic’s survivors. She was also later awarded the French Legion of Honor for her charitable work to rebuild France and help soldiers during World War I. Miss Violet Constance Jessop survived not one but three shipwrecks, the Titanic included. She started out as a stewardess on board the Olympic, which crashed into a British warship in 1911. Just 7 months later she survived the Titanic and then went on to serve as a nurse for the British Red Cross on the HMHS Britannic during World War I. This ship sank from an explosion, but Violet yet again came out of it and kept on working at sea. The actress Dorothy Gibson, most famous for her role in the 1912 movie “Saved from the Titanic”, actually was one of the survivors of the catastrophe. The film came out just a month after the tragedy. Dorothy later gave up her acting career to work in the Metropolitan Opera. During World War II, when she was living in Italy, she was arrested by the Gestapo for being a rebel against the regime. Remember the scene in the movie when that rich businessman snuck into one of the lifeboats? The real-life Joseph Bruce Ismay was Chairman of White Star Line, the company that operated the Titanic. He continued dealing in maritime affairs, although not so much with passenger liners and more with the British Merchant Navy. Ismay died of stroke when he was 74 years old. Their mother eventually saw them in the newspaper, and the family reunited a month after the tragedy. Michel lived a long and happy life and died at 92. Edmond fought with the French Army during World War II and died at 43. -After being rescued by the RMS Carpathia, Mrs. Brown organized a committee with other first-class survivors and Carpathia passengers that would raise money and provide counseling for the more destitute people that lived through the tragedy. -Miss Violet Constance Jessop survived three shipwrecks including Titanic. She settled down in Great Ashfield, England, where she died of congestive heart failure at the age of 83. -Dorothy Gibson starred in a movie about the Titanic’s sinking. She wrote the script herself and wore the same exact clothes in the movie that she did on the night of the disaster. -Professional tennis player Richard Norris Williams continued his tennis career after the shipwreck, became an Olympic gold medalist, and served in the army during World War I. -Eva Hart was a singer in Australia, a Conservative Party organizer in Britain, and a very outspoken activist when it came to the whole ordeal of the Titanic. -After the Titanic, Joseph Bruce Ismay tried to live his life on the down-low. He continued dealing in maritime affairs, although not so much with passenger liners and more with the British Merchant Navy. Very few think about it, but almost every country has its low-class gangsters. And each of them has their own specific subculture and style. TIMESTAMPS France – Racaille (rah-KYE) 0:29 USA – White trash 1:09 England – Chavs 1:53 Japan – Yankii 2:36 India – Tapori 3:17 Spain – Cani 4:02 Scotland – Ned 4:43 Israel – Ars 5:23 South Africa – Zef 6:06 Russia – Gopnik 6:46 SUMMARY - Racaille as true Frenchmen possesses a flawless style. They prefer Lacoste, wear Lacoste belt bags, and think that the height of style is pants tucked into socks. - In America, poor white people are often shortly called ”white-trash.” This term goes back to the 1820s and allegedly was invented by African Americans to disparage local poor white people. - The term “chav” came from a Romani word “chavvi,” which means “a child.” Chavs live in poor suburban districts. London traffic is too heavy for them. - Yankii are working-class Japanese youngsters. They are not tough guys like the yakuza, of course. But they are famous for being loud, rude, and refusing to take part in the strict manners of Japanese culture. - Tapori are street thugs from Mumbai. Their motto is "Milking a dummy is saint." That's why their main activity is hustling tourists. - Cani is very easy to spot a Southern-Spanish thug: they look as if they’ve just robbed a pawnshop, wearing multiple rings, gold chains, and other accessories. They like to listen to loud music on public transport, always playing club music out loud. - “Ned” is actually a short version for “non-educated delinquent.” Neds live in the poorer areas of Scottish suburbs. Unlike their English counterparts, these gentlemen are very aggressive, and they can drink huge amounts of alcohol with very little effect. - Arsim is a unique phenomenon in thug subculture because they are mostly religious. They often prefer national headwear to the standard baseball cap. - In the past, Zefs were wealthy but uneducated snobs who drove Ford Zephyrs. Then they degraded, but they still try to demonstrate style and wealth. - A Russian gopnik is a small predator of the criminal world. Gopniks also usually come from the dysfunctional background. They often spend their time squatting in groups and drinking beer. Do you know any other interesting facts about low-class gangs in your country? Tell us in the comment section below. 31 DISTURBING ASYLUM PICTURES FROM THE PAST THAT WILL HAUNT YOUR DREAMS It’s time for some more interesting, old-timey pictures from history. But we have a different collection this time of rare historical photos, a creepy, haunting kind of different. What you’re going to see below are shocking asylum pictures in days past that will send chills down your spine. 1. Serbian Psychiatric Hospital. Photo taken by George Georgiou who worked in Kosovo and Serbia between 1999 and 2002. 2. Female patients receiving Radium Therapy, early 20th century. 3. A chair used to restrain hysterical patients. 4. An insane asylum patient restrained by warders, Yorkshire, 1869, Henry Clarke. 5. A patient undergoing lateral cerebral diathermia treatment in the early 1920’s. Diathermia used a galvanized current to jolt psychosis sufferers. Doctors eventually deemed it unsafe and unreliable. 6. Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA insane asylum, 1870’s. 7. A chronic schizophrenic patient stands in a catatonic position. He maintained this uncomfortable position for hours. 8. The Pilgram Psychiatric Center in Long Island, NY, USA could house as many as 14,000 patients at a time. This self-sufficient mental asylum adopted extremely aggressive methods of “curing the insane”. Lobotomies and electric shock therapy were the norm. The doctors at this asylum started using large doses of insulin and metrozol to drive patients into a violent coma, just to be rid of them. 9. Basement dining. 10. The reasons. 11. Pilgrim State Hospital Brentwood NY, USA 1940s. 12. Lobotomy tools. 13. Philadelphia State Hospital at Byberry. Man in restraints, B, violent ward. 1945. 14. Mechanical slapping massage device at BC sanitarium. 15. Norwich State Hospital, Connecticut, USA. 16. A mother who has tuberculosis, and is on strict bed rest, leaves her room at the sanatorium for a Sunday walk with her family…. but she does not leave her bed. 17. Drawn by a paranoid schizophrenic patient. 18. A picture taken in Cuenca, Spain, 1961 Insane asylum. 19. Sections of brain encased in wax. West Park Mental Hospital Mortuary. 20. Washington, D.C., circa 1921. “Foundling Hospital, playroom.” Tots at the Washington Asylum for ‘Foundlings’. 21. Self-harm in 1964. 22. Sunland Asylum…Dr. Freeman, the quack who invented lobotomies. The procedure turned most ‘problem’ patients into zombies. 23. An x-ray of needles driven into the flesh by a self-harming patient. 24. An abandoned asylum in Limbiate, Italy. 25. In the late 19th century it was a widely held belief that masturbation caused insanity and devices such as this were designed to prevent the wearer from touching or stimulating himself. They were often used in mental institutions. 26. An insanity mask from the 17th century. 27. Hydrotherapy first used in the early 1900s, Immersion in a tub of water to make a patient relax when agitated or relieve some ailment, lasted a few hours to overnight. 1936. 28. Sometime in the 1800’s. 29. Patients in steam cabinets in 1910. 30. Patient in restraint chair at the West Riding Lunatic Asylum, Wakefield, Yorkshire ca. 1869. 31. Room NO.5

Thousands of years ago great minds managed to create incredible technologies that were way ahead of their time, like a fire that couldn’t be extinguished by water, an unbreakable medieval sword, and even an ancient computer from 200 B.C.E.! You’d be surprised to find out what crazy inventions existed back then that science still can’t explain today. If you’re ready to learn more about these mind-blowing ancient inventions plus a whole lot more, then keep on watching. TIMESTAMPS The stone globes of Costa Rica 0:59 The Roman dodecahedron 3:16 The Phaistos Disk in Crete 4:48 Greek fire 6:14 Damascus steel 7:31 The Iron pillar of Delhi 8:37 The Viking Ulfberht sword 10:11 The Voynich manuscript 11:56 The Zhang Heng seismograph 14:06 The Antikythera mechanism 15:12 #oldtechnology #damascucsteel #viking Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Granodiorite rocks can easily be carved using temperature techniques. Hundreds of stone spheres were found quarried in the foothills of the Talamanca Mountains. Researchers even saw a gigantic ball weighing over 16 tons. -The Roman dodecahedron had 12 flat pentagon-shaped faces with a knob protruding on each corner. It might have been a dice, a kid’s toy, a candle holder, a simple decoration, a measuring device on the battlefield, or an astronomical instrument, to name a few. -The Phaistos Disk was made from clay and measures about 6.2 inches in diameter. Experts concluded that it was a prayer to an ancient Minoan goddess. -The formula of Greek fire was a well-guarded state secret for over 7 centuries. Greek fire was used in naval warfare. -Blades made from Damascus steel were the most sought after in medieval Europe. And that’s because they were the best swords at the time. -The Iron pillar of Delhi dates back to the Gupta period, which lasted from about 240 to 590 C.E. A small amount of rust has started to form, but it is strange that there isn’t more. -Viking Ulfberht swords are believed to have been made around 800 to 1,000 C.E., but experts were sure that the technology used to make swords of such extraordinary quality didn’t come around until 800 years later. -The Voynich manuscript has 240 pages broken up into four sections: herbal, astrological, balneological, and pharmacological. There have literally been dozens of failed attempts to crack this thing. -In 132 C.E., Zhang Heng, a Chinese inventor, astronomer, engineer, scientist, scholar, and artist, invented a seismoscope and presented it to the Han court as an instrument for measuring seasonal winds and the Earth’s movements. -The Antikythera mechanism was retrieved by a group of divers in 1900 and has been dubbed “the world’s first analog computer” and it was made around 200 B.C.E. The life of real princesses is not as easy as it may seem. Here is a list of rules that princesses (as an example, we've taken Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge) must follow. Preview photo credit: Reuters. https://www.reuters.com/ TIMESTAMPS Sign autographs 0:44 Work in an office 1:17 Eat mussels or oysters 2:03 Wear a bright manicure 2:48 Have a profile on social media 3:17 Kiss in public 3:51 Go shopping alone 4:28 Wear fur 4:59 Vote 5:49 Wear ambiguous dresses 6:34 Play Monopoly 7:24 Travel with the whole family 7:54 Sit in the wrong place 9:00 Visit beauty salons less than 3 times a week 9:47 SUMMARY - Kate is allowed to be photographed with her fans and shake their hands, but she must not sign autographs. According to the royal rules, she can put her signature only on official documents. - It is believed that the Duchess doesn't like such events much and tries to avoid them. For this reason, she was, perhaps rather unkindly, given the nickname "Lazy Kate" as some say she is the one who skips such meetings the most among all the royals. - It's unknown how upset Kate was when she was asked to refuse oysters. The ban is connected to the fact that oysters can cause allergies and become poisonous when stored incorrectly. - Women in the royal family are allowed to cover their nails with nail polish. But according to the dress code, the Duchess of Cambridge can use only nude-colored shades. - There are official pages for the royal family on Twitter and Instagram, but they are controlled by professionals who carefully select photos and prescribe the text for publications. - There is no strict rule against it, but Queen Elizabeth II considers it inappropriate to express feelings in public. She almost never holds hands with her husband and insists that her grandchildren behave properly. - Kate likes shopping as much as any other girl. However, she cannot do it alone. The Duchess is allowed to visit supermarkets and modern London boutiques only with protection officers. - Before her marriage, Kate loved to wear fur. You can see many photos of her wearing fur coats and fur hats on the internet. Now the Duchess can wear fur occasionally but only of animals that died of natural causes. - The Duchess, as well as other members of the royal family, is forbidden to vote or run for parliament. All monarchs undertake to keep neutrality and not spoil their reputation through politics. - Kate once loved bright and youthful styles. Now she must wear modest and elegant outfits. Her styles are carefully planned by stylists to avoid ambiguous and controversial statements. - According to the royal protocol, there is a ban on Monopoly because the game is considered to be vicious and senseless. It was revealed by Prince Andrew, Duke of York in 2008 when he was presented this board game. - This unofficial rule appeared in the last century when it was very dangerous to fly on planes. This ban helps to protect the royal lineage should anything happen to the plane. The rule says that two royal heirs mustn't fly on the same plane. - The Duchess should always look elegant and have a perfect hairdo. That's why she should visit beauty salon not less than 3 times a week.
