Infinity War: Russo Brothers on VFX & Avengers: Endgame A few days ago, shortly before they won a number of VES Awards for Avengers: Infinity War, I sat down with directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Dan Deleeuw (Visual Effects Supervisor), Russell Earl (VFX Supervisor, ILM), and Kelly Port (VFX Supervisor, Digital Domain) for an extended video interview about the incredible visual effects in 2018's biggest film. While Marvel has raised the bar on almost every one of their films with their seamless VFX, Infinity War took everything to the next level with Thanos and it explains why the film took home the VES Awards top prize of “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature” along with wins for “Outstanding Effects Simulations in a Photoreal Feature” (Titan), “Outstanding Animated Character in a Photoreal Feature” (Thanos), and “Outstanding Compositing in a Photoreal Feature” (Titan again). During my exclusive interview, the team and the Russo Brothers went into great detail about how the sequence featuring Thanos throwing the Titan moon came about, how they keep track of who is working on which shot, how fourteen VFX houses worked on the film, when they realized they could do Thanos as performance capture and it would look real, how the film only had eighty shots without VFX, if they altered any of the shots for the Infinity War Blu-ray release, how one of the reasons nothing leaks is because all the computers working on the film are air-gaped, how they designed the dusting at the end of the film, and so much more. In addition, at the end of the interview, Joe and Anthony revealed Avengers: Endgame is still running at three hours and they have to be done with the film at the end of March. Collider Presents another chapter of our mock-u-series focusing on what happens "after the snap" in Avengers: Infinity War. After Thanos’ snap, the world became a darker place. Not just because of the death, the destruction and the massive loss of life… it was because the people left behind were actually a bunch of jerks. While Thanos was thought to be cleansing the universe and bringing balance: in reality, he made it worse, and we’re left to suffer. Like, really, really, suffer - because all these people are happy they were spared to continue on with their terrible behavior. Stranger Things: Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, and Caleb McLaughlin Interview While Stranger Things season 3 won’t be hitting Netflix until sometime this summer, some of the stars of the show (Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink and Caleb McLaughlin) were recently in Brazil to attend CCXP and the day after their panel, I got to sit down with them for a fun interview. Since I knew going in that they wouldn’t be able to say too much about Stranger Things season 3, I decided to start the interview off by getting them to play “Get to know your Stranger Things cast member” with some fun questions, including what’s their favorite app on their phone, current favorite video game, favorite band, what TV show they’d like to guest star on, what they “borrowed” from set, and a few questions from someone they knew. In addition, towards the end of the interview, they talked about what it was like reading the season 3 scripts for the first time, what it’s like on set when they have to do the cool but time-consuming camera set-ups, and how many scripts they typically get before shooting begins. Check out what they had to say in the player above and below is exactly what we talked about. Stranger Things season 2 is now streaming on Netflix and features Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Dacre Montgomery as Billy, Sadie Sink as Max, Sean Astin as Bob Newby, and Paul Reiser as Dr. Owens. Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink and Caleb McLaughlin: For Sadie: Who is ketchup and who is mustard? For Noah: How hard is it for him to keep his voice from sounding as deep as it really is? For Caleb: What’s the deal with his Georgia allergies? What’s their current favorite video game? Favorite app on their phone? Favorite band? What TV show would they love to guest star on? What have they “borrowed” from set? What was it like reading the season 3 scripts for the first time? How is it on set when they’re told they’re going to do a cool camera shot that will take extra time but will look cool when done? How many of the season 3 scripts did they have when they started? Avengers Endgame Runtime Revealed by Joe and Anthony Russo There is no shortage of mysteries to wrap up in Avengers: Endgame, but one of the biggest questions heading into the April 26 premiere date is just how long the Russo Brothers will take to tell this story. While speaking to the directing duo at Disney about the FX in Avengers: Infinity War, Collider's Steve Weintraub got an update on Endgame's runtime, which as of right now is still looking like the longest in the MCU's eleven-year history. "We're still at the three-hour mark," Joe Russo said. Stressing that there is still work to be done in the editing bay, the directors noted that Disney is definitely down for a three-hour epic if it hits the right beats: SUBSCRIBE TO THE COLLIDER NETWORK Collider Videos: https://bit.ly/2n1MZb7 Collider Games: https://bit.ly/2vszg0Z Collider Quick: https://bit.ly/2OyLjSU Collider Sports: https://bit.ly/2Au5rmv Collider Podcast Network: https://bit.ly/1qU5ENT Pro Wrestling Sheet: https://bit.ly/2LKhWzy Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ColliderVideo Follow us on Instagram: https://instagram.com/ColliderVideo Follow us on Facebook: https://facebook.com/colliderdotcom As the online source for movies, television, breaking news, incisive content, and imminent trends, Collider is more than an essential destination. On today’s Collider Mailbag (February 17, 2019), John Rocha and Dorian Parks answer the following questions from the Collider fans: 1. If the avengers time travel back to the battle of new York will/should cap save agent coulson from loki, after all he wouldnt need to die to round the team up n cap was his childhood hero 2. With the four new Marvel animated shows being produced for Hulu, do you think it was a good move for Disney/Marvel to put them on Hulu’s service and not save them for the Disney Streaming service that’s coming out? 3. I’m a fan from the uk here, my question is regarding how you deal with all the trolls and rude people on social media? 4. Why Is #TheTrench being made? Does anybody really care about the sea creatures that attacked Aquaman?? With all the right moves in the DCEU lately, doesn’t this seem like a cash grab or a reason just to explore more of Atlantis? 5. Should the X-Men really be done like harry potter and have really young people be the team? WARNING: Contains spoilers for the 'Halloween' franchise and includes gory imagery, viewer discretion advised! Does NOT include any spoilers from Halloween (2018) Halloween comes out this weekend and fans of the original John Carpenter masterpiece will see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis to the iconic role of Laurie Strode…and Michael Myers. Carpenter also returns to the franchise he made famous to executive produce this film along with Blumhouse founder Jason Blum. David Gordon Green directs this “sequel” of sorts and co-wrote the film as well with Danny McBride. The film’s synopsis states Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. The franchise has seen numerous installments over the years in an attempt to recapture the success and the vibe of the original film. There was even an ill-fated reboot and sequel by Rob Zombie. Needless to say, Michael Myers has had a high death toll over the years so in honor of the release of Halloween, noted Horror movie enthusiast Mark Reilly counts down the Top 10 Kills in the Halloween franchise. No installment is off limits and the more gruesome and inventive, the better. Watch and see if your favorite deaths are included here and if they aren’t let us know in the COMMENTS section below. Greener Grass - Beck Bennett, Mary Holland, Dawn Luebbe and Jocelyn Deboer Interview One of the many films to world premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival was the dark comedy Greener Grass. Written, directed and starring Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe, the film is based on their SXSW award-winning 2016 short film by the same name. While most movies are easy to describe, I’ll admit Greener Grass is like nothing I’ve ever seen and can see it playing midnight festivals for a long time. The film is set in a demented suburbia where adults wear braces on their straight teeth, parents are willing to give up their kid to a neighbor with no warning, characters wear underwear as scarves, and no one wants to be the one to go first through a four-way stop sign. Trust me, Greener Grass is funny, weird, and every time you think you know where it’s going, it takes a completely unexpected turn. As someone that has seen almost every movie trope countless times, when a movie like Greener Grass comes along, it’s a welcome delight. The film also stars Beck Bennett, Neil Casey, Mary Holland, and D'Arcy Carden. Shortly before seeing the film, Beck Bennett, Mary Holland, Dawn Luebbe, and Jocelyn DeBoer came by the Collider studio at the Kia Supper Suite in Park City to talk about the film. They talked about being at Sundance, how they explain the film, why the characters wear braces, competition in suburban life, the challenge of keeping the very funny cast on-point and choosing which improvisations to keep in the edit, and more. In addition, they played “Get To Know Your Sundance Attendee” which includes a number of questions like what TV show they’d like to guest-star on, what’s their favorite fantasy or sci-fi movie, what film scared them as a kid, their first movie or TV show crush, if they prefer Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad, and a lot of other fun stuff. Israel Broussard and Jessica Rothe Happy Death Day 2U Interview "Heeeeey, it's my birthday, and I don't gotta pick up the phone!" You can bet Tree Gelbman (Jessica Rothe) isn't too happy to hear that song again when she gets stuck in another deadly time loop in Happy Death Day 2U. Writer-director Christopher Landon returns for the surprising sequel to Blumhouse's 2017 breakout Happy Death Day, the timey-wimey slasher movie that followed the mean girl sorority sister on a journey of transformation through life and death (and back again and again and again) when she got caught in a time loop on her birthday -- the same day a masked murderer came to kill her. For the sequel, Landon shakes everything up, explaining the source of the time loop and taking the leap from horror to sci-fi thriller, including new time loops and an alternate dimension -- a dimension that throws a new wrench in Tree's relationship with Carter (Israel Broussard). With Happy Death Day 2U now in theaters, I recently sat down for an interview with Rothe and Broussard to talk about the sequel, dropping Tree in a different genre, and rekindling their characters romance in a new way. Watch the interview in the video above and check out a list of what we talked about below. Jennifer Connelly Alita, Top Gun 2 and Snowpiercer TV series Interview With director Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel opening in theaters this weekend, I recently got to sit down with Jennifer Connelly to talk about the film. During the interview, she talked about why you should see Alita in 3D, her reaction to seeing the finished VFX, what it was like shooting on the detailed practical sets, and more. In addition, she reminisced about working with Roger Deakins years ago, what it’s been like working with Tom Cruise on Top Gun 2, and why she loved making the upcoming Snowpiercer TV series. Before getting to the interview, I’ve seen Alita three times and absolutely loved it. James Cameron, Robert Rodriguez and producer Jon Landau have crafted something special and it’s one of those rare films that’s actually worth seeing in 3D. Trust me, the visual effects are insane, the action set pieces are easy to follow and well shot, and Rosa Salazar is fantastic as Alita. In addition, the world of Alita is the type of place I wish I could visit, and I hope they’re able to make future installments. Finally, if you live near an IMAX theater, I strongly recommend seeing Alita in IMAX 3D because you’ll get to see about 26% more image in a number of scenes. Alita also stars Christoph Waltz, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, and Jackie Earle Haley. Will Arnett & Tiffany Haddish LEGO Movie 2 Interview A movie based on LEGOs probably shouldn't have worked in the first place, so you'd imagine that a sequel to a movie based on LEGOs wouldn't stand a chance. And yet here we are, it's 2019, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are miracle workers, and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is an unadulterated delight. The film picks up five years after The LEGO Movie and everything is decidedly not awesome in Bricksburg. LEGO DUPLO from the great beyond have invaded—led by Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi (Tiffany Haddish) and her incredibly named henchman General Mayhem (Stephanie Beatriz)—and Emmet (Chris Pratt), Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett), Metalbeard (Nick Offerman), Benny (Charlie Day), and Unikitty (Alison Brie) will have to travel to the furthest reaches of the house galaxy to stop it. Mike Mitchell and Trisha Gum direct from a script by Lord and Miller. Before The Lego Movie 2 hit theaters, I sat down with Tiffany Haddish and Will Arnett to discuss the film. Well, we tried, but both Haddish and Arnett are both master riffers who can't let a good story go untold. Luckily, I can't think of a better way to sell this movie's style than listening to Tiffany Haddish tell a story about New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and watching Will Arnett make fun of my tattoo. Bohemian Rhapsody Cast Interview - Rami Malek, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, and Joseph Mazzello Last week in London, I attended the world premiere of Bohemian Rhapsody at Wembley Arena. Unlike most premiere venues, which are lucky to hold a thousand people, Wembley Arena is a massive building that normally hosts concerts and other live events. So for the world premiere of the Queen movie, 20th Century Fox filled the arena up with around seven thousand people, and during the film's big moments it truly became an interactive experience. When Queen is shown in the studio coming up with the beginning of “We Will Rock You,” the crowd was clapping and stomping along with the band. Then, during the Live Aid portion of the film, when the band is singing Radio Ga Ga, the crowd clapped along. It was like being at a Queen concert, and an experience I’ll never forget. The day before the world premiere, I was able to talk with cast members Rami Malek, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, and Joseph Mazzello. They revealed what it was like filming the Live Aid concert, what was cut out of the finished film, and what Queen songs they wish could have made the movie. Finally, while the entire cast was great in Bohemian Rhapsody, Rami Malek’s performance was on another level. No matter what review you read or who you talk to, everyone is raving about his amazing performance as Freddie Mercury. His work alone is reason to see the movie. Scripted by Anthony McCarten (Darkest Hour), Bohemian Rhapsody follows the band Queen from their early days playing pubs to becoming one of the biggest rock bands on the planet. The film also stars Lucy Boynton, Aidan Gillen, Tom Hollander, Allen Leech, and Aaron McCusker. Replicas: Keanu Reeves and Alice Eve Interview With director Jeffrey Nachmanoff’s Replicas opening in theaters this weekend, I recently sat down with Keanu Reeves and Alice Eve to talk about the sci-fi thriller. In the film, Reeves plays a neuroscientist on the verge of successfully transferring human consciousness into a computer when his family is tragically killed in a car crash. Desperate to get them back, he recruits a fellow scientist (Thomas Middleditch) to help him secretly clone their bodies and create replicas. As they race against time to save them, Reeves is pitted against a government-controlled laboratory, a police task force and the physical laws of science. Replicas also stars John Ortiz. During the wide-ranging interview with Keanu Reeves and Alice Eve, they talked about the technology being pursued in the film and asking the question of what would you do if you had access to it, memorable moments from filming, how they bonded with the kids, what Reeves did as a producer on the project, and more. In addition, they shared some fun stories about the last time they had to audition for something, what it’s like to have a meeting with a possible director or co-star, and how Reeves got involved in Pixar’s Toy Story 4. Chris Pratt & Elizabeth Banks LEGO Movie 2 Interview A movie based on LEGOs probably shouldn't have worked in the first place, so you'd imagine that a sequel to a movie based on LEGOs wouldn't stand a chance. Before The Lego Movie 2 hit theaters, I sat down with Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks to talk about the film. We also discussed how expectations changed between the first movie and this one, and why they think the idea that everything is not awesome all the time is important for young audiences to learn. New 'Venom' Clips Show Off Tom Hardy's Range and a Conflicted Eddie Brock Ahead of Sony's release of Venom, the studio's next film in their marvelous Spider-Man-centric cinematic universe, some new clips have made their way online to show off Tom Hardy's range as both the mild-mannered journalist Eddie Brock and the brain-eating rage-monster that is the alien symbiote known as Venom. In these four clips, some of which you might have seen before, Brock interviews a rich and powerful business magnate whose motives are not quite as philanthropic as they might seem; Eddie also gets to have a heart to heart with his ex-wife (or at least she is in the comics). But don't worry, there's plenty of Venom to go around as the title terror takes on a group of thugs who come in search of Eddie, as well as a S.W.A.T. team who tries to take him down. Zombieland and Gangster Squad filmmaker Ruben Fleischer directs, with Riz Ahmed alongside Hardy’s antihero playing the antagonist Dr. Carlton Drake while Michelle Williams fills the role of Anne Weying. Ron Cephas Jones, Jenny Slate and Woody Harrelson also star. One (or more) of those co-stars might just end up having a bigger part to play than you might expect. Look for Venom to invade theaters starting October 5th. Noah Schnapp & Fernando Grostein Andrade: Abe Interview Stranger Things is still clearly a very big deal, but in between seasons, Noah Schnapp is branching out and tackling other projects, and in this particular case, it’s a project that could inspire young moviegoers to both take up cooking and use food to bring people together. He leads Fernando Grostein Andrade‘s directorial debut Abe as the title character. He’s got an Israeli mother and a Palestinian father, and the two are often at odds when it comes to which religion and culture should take priority in Abe’s upbringing. Meanwhile, Abe is happy to tap into both when pursuing his passion – cooking. Eager to learn the ins and outs of working in a professional kitchen, Abe ditches the kids’ cooking class his parents enroll him in and instead, starts secretly training with a Brazilian chef who believes “mixing flavors can bring people together.” With Abe celebrating its world premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, Schnapp and Andrade spent a little time at the Collider Studio in Park City to talk about the inspiration for the film, the cooking basics Schnapp needed to learn for the role, and they do their very best to encourage me (a terrible cook) to attempt to cook a chicken. You can catch all of that, Andrade’s acai bowl warning, and a delightful pea milk discussion in this video interview. On today’s Collider Mailbag (February 16, 2019), John Rocha and Mark Reilly answer the following questions from the Collider fans: 1. With the announcement of Christopher Nolan’s next film being released in IMAX for summer 2020, and being worded as another “event film” what would you like to see him tackle with this next project? 2. What is your favorite horror sequel? It has to be a sequel not a prequel or a reboot or anything like that. 3. If Paramount were tempted to make Pet Sematary into a franchise should it made into anthology movies in different time periods. 4. Have you ever disliked a movie so much you walked out of the theater before it ended? 5. What if a known director explicitly stated they’d use Gunn’s script (as a sign of good faith) - and that Director was Sam Raimi? What do you think? Umbrella Academy: Gerard Way & Gabriel Ba Interview One of the many new series to premiere on Netflix this year is The Umbrella Academy. Based on the Dark Horse Comics series of the same name created and written by Gerard Way (yes, he of My Chemical Romance) and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, the show follows a group of estranged, super-powered family members who have to come together and work through their personality quirks to solve the death of their father. When I was in Brazil attending CCXP recently, I got to sit down with Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá to talk about the series. They talked about how Netflix kept the weird ideas and the essence of the characters, what they wanted to see happen in the show, how the viewer is immediately trying to catch up and figure out what’s going on as the series begins, the challenges of trying to make the fans happy while also appealing to an entirely new audience, and more. In addition, Gerard Way revealed that he knows how the graphic novels will end and wanted to make sure the writers knew where it was all ultimately going to go. He said: “What I did for Steve Blackman (the showrunner) and the writers in that first writers room was to create an eighteen page document that laid everything out. Even of the graphic novels that haven’t come out yet. Which should equal eight when we’re all done. So I gave them the blueprint for what happens, because you do want to seed certain things in there for future series and the hope is that it’s a success so that you do a lot more of these. Just in time for Christmas we have here the answer to everyone’s biggest question over the holidays - is Die Hard a Christmas movie? This debate, nay, argument, has been raging for years with many saying “heck no” and some saying “heck yeah.” But the conversation, nay, argument has lacked sufficient evidence and/or talking points that can help clear up the conversation into full blown proof. All that is going to change now that Josh Macuga is here. Is it the theme? Is it the hero or the gift-wrapped guns? Is it the characters, the setting, the time of year? Is it all of the above and more? Join us now and enjoy the 6 reasons why Die Hard is, in fact, a Christmas Movie with Josh Macuga lighting the way. Go ahead and hit the comments section below and remember to Like and Share this video on your social media and to Subscribe to our channel - get everyone here talking about Die Hard and WHY it’s a damn Christmas Movie. Polar: Mads Mikkelsen & Jonas Akerlund Interview With Polar now streaming on Netflix, I recently sat down with Mads Mikkelsen and director Jonas Åkerlund to talk about their film based on the graphic novel Polar: Came from the Cold by Victor Santos. During the wide-ranging interview, they talked about their initial meeting about the project, wanting to make sure the stuff they loved from the graphic novel made it into the movie, how they wanted to craft the action set pieces, what they learned from early screenings that impacted the finished film, why they think the hitman genre is so popular, how Mikkelsen likes to prepare for a role, and more. In addition, I tried to get Mikkelsen to talk about Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game and Åkerlund talks about his other film, Lords of Chaos. If you haven’t seen the trailer, Polar stars Mads Mikkelsen as one of the world’s most lethal assassins. As he gets closer to his retirement, his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head to head with an army of younger, faster, ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced. Polar also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Katheryn Winnick, Matt Lucas, Ruby O. Fee, Fei Ren, Anthony Grant, Josh Cruddas, Robert Maillet, Julian Richings, Johnny Knoxville and Richard Dreyfuss. Sebastian Stan on Stan Lee and Avengers 4 It's impossible to quantify the exact impact Stan Lee—who died on Monday at 95—had on pop culture, but a good place to start is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a billion-dollar big-screen empire built on the backs of comic book characters created by Lee along with artists and writers like Jack Kirby, Joe Simon, and Steve Ditko. After portraying Bucky Barnes and his one-armed alter-ego The Winter Soldier across four films, Sebastian Stan has played an integral role in fleshing out the MCU. Collider's own Steve Weintraub happened to be interviewing Stan for Karyn Kusama's Destroyer on the morning of Lee's death, and the actor shared a few thoughts on Marvel's most jovial architect. "I only met him a few times," Stan said. "I never got a full one-on-one with him but he was always like, 'Remember, Bucky’s one of the good ones. Bucky’s a good guy.'" The actor also noted the ways Lee's death put the artists he most admires into perspective: "I’m a little knocked out by this news. Literally, as I was coming here that was the first thing I saw. There’s a few people that are close to my heart, like actors and directors and people who I’ve always been inspired by who are getting up there, and that’s the fear I always have. That you’re going to get this headline eventually. But I was just fortunate to meet him. I feel like I’m just grateful that he was around to see what Marvel was able to do, especially in the last ten years. I feel like he always…he had the cameos. I think he was happy with the turnout." The MCU is also headed for what amounts to a season finale with next year's still-untitled Avengers 4, the second half of the showdown with the Mad Titan Thanos that the Russo Brothers' started in Avengers: Infinity War. The two films were largely shot simultaneously, a massive undertaking that resulted in Stan feeling unsure that Bucky Barnes even appears in the finale. Happy Thursday, ladies and gents! On today's show of Collider Live, Finstock and Citizen join the show to talk about the notorious goldfish-winning show that has no doubt consumed your entire Twitter feed, "Little Bobby & the Juice". We also talk about Rian Johnson and his Star Wars trilogy because apparently people are still upset about The Last Jedi. I actually thought it was a really solid movie that moved the Star Wars story along nicely and....okay now I see a crowd of people slowly walking towards me....back to The Last Jedi. You see, most people are upset with the characterization of Luke but I thought it was a cool take on how our heroes can...okay now the crowd has become a mob and they're pulling out pitchforks....let me just get this one final say on The Last Jedi. I give it a solid B+ and consider it one of the better Star Wars movies OKAY NOW THE MOB IS BREAKING DOWN THE DOOR AND WANTS MY BLOOD. PLEASE SEND HELP. THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE THERE WON'T BE TIME CODES TODAY. #ColliderLive: You have no idea what might happen in this off the wall show that is a mix of the old Schmoes Know show with a dash of Collider, mixed with nonsense, shaken with comedy and served every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday live from Collider Studios. Disney released the first trailer for Frozen II, their sequel to their 2013 smash hit Frozen. The trailer reunites the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad as Anna, Elsa and Olaf respectively. Academy Award-winning directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck direct this one from a screenplay by Lee and Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures). The film features the music of Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019. The trailer is a bit darker than anticipated, features no dialogue and introduces a new land and character. John Rocha and Wendy Lee sit down to watch this trailer for the first time and offer their unfiltered thoughts on the trailer and let you know if they enjoyed Disney’s approach to this sequel. On today’s Movie Review Talk with Scott Mantz, Scott is joined by Nestor Bentancor and Kit Bowen to talk about new releases Alita: Battle Angel, Happy Death Day 2U, Isn’t It Romantic and Fighting with My Family. The group also revisits Academy Award nominee Bohemian Rhapsody in honor of its Blu-ray release. ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL is an epic adventure of hope and empowerment. When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. Jessica Rothe leads the returning cast of HAPPY DEATH DAY 2U, the follow-up to Blumhouse’s surprise 2017 smash hit of riveting, repeating twists and comic turns. This time, our hero Tree Gelbman discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead. ISN’T IT ROMANTIC centers on New York City architect Natalie (Rebel Wilson) who works hard to get noticed at her job but is more likely to be asked to deliver coffee and bagels than to design the city’s next skyscraper. And if things weren’t bad enough, Natalie, a lifelong cynic when it comes to love, has an encounter with a mugger that renders her unconscious, waking to discover that her life has suddenly become her worst nightmare—a romantic comedy—and she is the leading lady.
