Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Electronic duo Disclosure have released a new song “Ultimatum.” Featuring a prominent sample of Fatoumata Diawara’s voice, the track adds a Malian touch to the duo’s soulful deep-house sound. “Sorry it’s been a while—we have been missing you all immensely, so we wanted to share with you something we’ve been working on now that the sun is shining and the trees are green,” the duo shared in a statement. “A few months ago, we stumbled across an amazing female vocalist named Fatoumata Diawara. While digging through her discography we discovered this beautiful sample and started messing around, having fun and experimenting with it.” “Ultimatum” marks the first new song from the duo since remixing their own single “Nocturnal” in 2016. Earlier this year, the brothers said they were starting work on their third album. Ashley Monroe Sparrow: https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review/ashley-monroe-sparrow. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Family matters, and family as a source of conflicting emotions, loom large over Ashley Monroe's Sparrow. The singer-songwriter's fourth album reckons with tangled genealogies and troubled pasts; throughout, Monroe's characters grieve their losses, count their scars, and try to heal. Working with producer Dave Cobb, Monroe has created a sonic palette to help translate those vivid feelings into expressive, visceral music. While Cobb is best known for the analog austerity he's brought to albums by Chris Stapleton and Jason Isbell, he and Monroe sought inspiration in the syrupy strings of classic “countrypolitan” on Sparrow. Yet while Monroe and Cobb draw inspiration from the lush, orchestral country of the 1960s, Sparrow is no throwback. Songs like “Rita” use cinematic orchestrations to evoke the dusty, widescreen pop of Tumbleweed Connection-era Elton John, but the lush melancholy of “Orphan” resembles the more contemporary, moody chamber-pop of Beck's Sea Change. The dozen songs here are ornate but never feel bogged down or overly mannered. The strings provide texture and color while allowing room for Monroe and her band's kinetic, muscular performances, everything from rollicking country-rock (“Hard on a Heart”) to sultry R&B grooves (“Hands on You”). It doesn't hurt that Sparrow's elegant arrangements are supported by some of Monroe's most evocative songwriting to date. On “Orphan,” the narrator wonders why it's so hard for human begins to learn self-reliance, observing how young birds learn to fly all on their own. And “Mother's Daughter,” which concerns a girl who realizes too late that she's inherited her mother's wanderlust, is every bit as poignant. These and other songs are filled with regret, yet Sparrow isn't a downcast album: “Hands on You” is a slinky song about a missed opportunity for intimacy, and “Wild Love” shimmers and churns with its narrator's desire. Monroe is unparalleled at fusing classicist country songwriting with a modern sheen, something she proved on The Blade, which deftly balances traditional country sounds with bubbly pop. With Sparrow, she's topped even that achievement, creating a rich and emotional album that feels deeply connected to the past but also fully engaged with the present. #AshleyMonroeSparrow #MusicAlbumReviewsAshleyMonroeSparrowWarnerBros

Leon Bridges Good Thing: https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review/leon-bridges-good-thing. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Leon Bridges made his name as a young artist with an affinity for old music. His 2015 debut, Coming Home, was both praised and lightly criticized for its obsessively recreated retro-soul aesthetic, right down to the pleated trousers he wears on the album's cover. With his sophomore effort Good Thing, Bridges brings his classicist R&B chops into the current century—with mixed results. The album opens with “Bet Ain't Worth the Hand,” impeccably channeling Motown's baroque period with a glistening string arrangement and Bridges gliding in and out of a Marvin Gaye-esque falsetto. But his chief aesthetic models here aren't classic soulsters like Gaye and Sam Cooke, but present-day heavy hitters like Sam Smith and Adele—artists who've mapped “retro” sounds onto modern radio formats, achieving crossover success in the process. For at least the first four of Good Thing's 10 tracks, the experiment pays off. “Bad Bad News” pairs a cool jazz groove with a hip-hop-influenced vocal delivery; one can easily imagine Anderson .Paak doing something similar with the track. “Beyond,” meanwhile, effortlessly integrates the country-soul vibes Justin Timberlake recently spent a whole album clumsily chasing. With Good Thing, Bridges brings his classicist R&B chops into the current century—with mixed results. But the album falters when Bridges strays from his retro-soul wheelhouse. The fingerprints of producer Ricky Reed are too evident on “Forgive You,” a bland slice of adult-contemporary R&B that wouldn't sound out of place on the Maroon 5 album Reed recently helped produce. The sleek, '80s-style pop-funk of “If It Feels Good, Then It Must Be” fares better, but lacks the conviction of other recent forays in the style, such as Janelle Monáe's “Make Me Feel.” Bridges goes out on a high note with “Georgia to Texas,” a moving tribute to his mother that plays to the same stripped-down gospel strengths as his breakout song “River.” It's just him accompanied by drums, saxophone, piano, and stand-up bass; you can even hear the bass player's fingers scraping against the strings. And after the album's muddled middle section, the closing track feels like a reminder of what Bridges does best: not “retro” per se, but lived-in and genuine. That's something Good Thing—and contemporary R&B more generally—could use a little more of. #LeonBridgesGoodThing #MusicAlbumReviewsLeonBridgesGoodThingColumbia

Story Behind the Song: Abby Anderson, 'Make Him Wait': http://theboot.com/abby-anderson-make-him-wait-lyrics/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Abby Anderson's debut single, "Make Him Wait," shares a simple message of not rushing a relationship, and not dropping everything for a cute guy. Read on to learn more about the process behind the making of the soulful song. I was writing with Josh Kerr and Tom Douglas that day, and I just remember being all giddy because I had this big ol' crush on this boy, and we were writing an uptempo, happy song. We were cuttin' up at one point, and Josh turns to me and says, "Abby, how do you get the boys?" -- which, I don't! I'm a total nerd. But he asked, so I said, "I make 'em wait! I make 'em work for it a little!" He turned around and started playing the chords to "Make Him Wait," and, honestly, everything my dad has ever taught me about dating and relationships started floating back. We wrote the song in 45 minutes. It honestly fell from the sky. To be honest with you, I didn't think it would be a single. When we wrote it, I thought it was a good song and that maybe it would go on the album, but when we made a demo of it and played it for the CEO of Black River [Entertainment, my label], he loved it. I guess at that point, the buzz started going around the office. I always say I like surrounding myself with people that are a lot smarter than I am. They saw the vision, and I have to hand it to them for seeing the potential of everything this song could be. #StoryBehind, #SongAbbyAndersonMake, #Wait #abbyandersonmakehimwait, #abbyandersonmakehimwaitlyrics, #meaningofabbyandersonmakehimwait, #abbyandersonmakehimwaitmeaning, #storybehindabbyandersonmakehimwait, #abbyandersonmakehimwaitstorybehindthesong, #inspirationforabbyandersonmakehimwait, #abbyandersonmakehimwaitinspiration, #abbyandersonmakehimwaitsongwriters, #abbyandersonmakehimwaitwriters

Get a First Look at Harry Styles-Produced Sitcom 'Happy Together': . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 The premise is as old as time: boy band heartthrob moves out of his family home and ends up crashing with the his mentor for a few weeks that turn into nearly two years and hijinks ensue. That's the basic storyline of Happy Together, a sitcom coming to CBS in the fall that will be executive produced by aforementioned heartthrob, Harry Styles, and Ben Winston, the Late Late Show exec producer who let Styles sleep on his couch during the One Direction singer's rocket rise to pop stardom. The four-minute trailer for the series was revealed on Wednesday (May 16) and it features dashingly handsome Australian actor Felix Mallard, 20, playing Harry-alike Cooper James, who is forced to hide from the paparazzi in the suburban home of his super-square accountant, Jake (Damon Wayans Jr.) and wife Claire (Amber Stevens) after a breakup.  The traditional-looking sitcom plays up James' good looks and affable nature and the couple's dorky rituals, like recording unnecessarily elaborate musical answering machine messages and their general awkwardness around the superstar.Happy Together will air on Mondays at 8:30 p.m ET on CBS.Check out the trailer below. #FirstLook, #HarryStylesProducedSitcomHappyTogether

Johnny Jewel of Chromatics Talks Surprise Solo Album and 'Dear Tommy' Delays: 'In My Dream Reality, I'd Release an Album a Day': . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 “Cinematic.” Read any write-up of Johnny Jewel’s music -- whether it's his solo work, material from his role as the main brain behind Chromatics, or as a member of several side projects on his Italians Do It Better label -- and odds are that you’ll see the word “cinematic” somewhere. There’s a reason that’s such a popular description, though: Jewel specializes in sleek-sounding, neon-streaked songs that are spiked with tension while feeling deeply romantic.Jewel has made the cinema comparison even easier in recent years, seeing that his work has actually played on screens big and small. The 43-year-old has released a handful of soundtracks under his own name, two of his bands landed songs in the 2011 arthouse-noir flick Drive (a consolation prize, considering Jewel worked on a score that wasn’t used) and, roughly a year ago, Chromatics appeared in the premiere episode of Twin Peaks: The Return, David Lynch’s long-awaited, mind- and medium-melting reprise of his early-‘90s TV series.“I just love the synergy of sound and vision,” Jewel tells Billboard over the phone. “It’s incredible. It’s like one plus one equals a million.” To mark the anniversary of that Twin Peaks cameo, Jewel has surprise-released Themes for Television, a 21-track collection of mostly instrumental music that coincided with recordings he made for Lynch’s sprawling limited series. “It’s difficult to know where it fits in [my solo catalog], and that’s one of the freedoms of being independent,” Jewel says. “Because it’s such an abstract record, the people that are going to be into it are going to be already thinking outside the box, and they’re going to be excited that there’s more wallpaper for their dreams.”Billboard spoke with Jewel about crafting Themes for Television, the status of Chromatics’ long-delayed Dear Tommy album (which is reportedly coming out this fall, if the announcement that came with recent single “Black Walls” is to be believed) and more. This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity. How and when did these songs first start to take shape? Was it right after David Lynch’s music supervisor suggested Chromatics for Twin Peaks: The Return? No, long before. I’m not sure the exact time, but a year to a year and a half before then? I kind of work in a nonlinear way, so I start projects all the time that I have no idea where it’s going to end up. I had begun exploring pastoral waves of synth and more abstract, spacious stuff that eventually ended up evolving into what became [Jewel’s 2017 solo album] Windswept. And this collection started to take more of a refined shape after you got involved with Twin Peaks? Or was it mostly what it was?It was mostly what it was. The way that I work is if I’m playing music, I’m recording music. I don’t know how to document music other than recording it: I can’t write it down. And a lot of the music -- especially this type of stuff, that’s outside of the pop spectrum -- is largely improvisational. So, it only happens once #JohnnyJewel, #ChromaticsTalksSurpriseSoloAlbum, #DearTommyDelays, #DreamReality, #Release, #Album

"You're a 10, she a two, life sucks for her/ Let's punch her in her face and take her jewels/ It's May, we don't play with them April fools." EDC Las Vegas 2018 Day 1 Highlights: Flux Pavilion, Eric Prydz, San Holo & More: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Kudos to Insomniac for moving the Electric Daisy Carnival up a month. The weather was perfect and a welcome reprieve from the excessive desert heat in years past at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Even some of the stages were redesigned to have an open-air feel instead of the dancing bodies sweating up a storm and trapping heat in a tent structure.Billboard Dance takes you on the scene from the opening night on Saturday (May 19).10:15 p.m.: Leaving the Strip after the Vegas Golden Knights hockey game, a variety of ninja surface street routes aided arrival at EDC. While pausing to study the map in the stands overlooking the Cosmic Meadow, I heard the vintage sound of a disposable film camera. A young man body-painted pink and purple like the Cheshire Cat was going old school as he lost his phone on Wednesday. When asking where you’d even go to develop the pictures, he said he had no idea, but was excited to see what turned out. 10:19 p.m.: While descending the stairs to the lush Cosmic Meadow, Mike Will Made-It dropped a dope remix of the Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” that I’d love to get my hands on.10:43 p.m.: The Carnival Square at the center of EDC has been transformed into the ultimate chilling area, complete beanbag chairs. On the big screen, some sort of derpy version of Rick & Morty was playing (upon further research, it was the Bushworld Adventures special). Rick & Morty was a popular choice for attendees, either via their totems or attire and I’ll be wearing my Pickle Rick shirt at some point this weekend.10:53 p.m.: Claude VonStroke over at the Circuit Grounds was throwing down for all the Dirty Birdies as I spotted the first of multiple Vegas Golden Knights flags waving above the crowd. As I was still wearing my custom VGK dress from the game, we struck up a conversation and a girl in the crew also gave me VGK kandi as the vocals in the current track encourage the crowd to “Close your eyes and dance with me.” Us locals love our new team, especially with how they brought the community together after the Oct. 1 mass shooting tragedy.11:23 p.m.: While walking to another stage, I spotted a totem with a collage of pictures. Upon getting closer, I realized they were all pictures of Avicii. RIP Tim.11:26 p.m.: Is there a Guinness World Record for largest beach chair? If not, it should go to the Corona Electric Beach for their giant lounger.11:33 p.m.: A trio of Lt. Dangle doppelgängers exits the Neon Garden stage. With Lee Foss playing, I was hesitant to go inside the replica warehouse façade that keeps in line with Insomniac’s Factory 93 underground brand. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually open-air once in and that it avoided becoming the kind of warehouse party that has sweat from dancers condensing on the walls and ceiling.11:47 p.m.: Plenty of amusement around seeing a totem depicting a row of Porta-Potties with the message “This is where the panties drop.”12:02 a.m.: While sitting outside the Neon Garden (it also seems #Vegas2018, #HighlightsFluxPavilionEricPrydz, #HoloMore

Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Trent Reznor has declared that the new Nine Inch Nails record ‘Bad Witch’ will be considered as an album, despite its length. Following on from from 2016’s ‘Not The Actual Events’ and 2017’s ‘Add Violence’ EPs, this month saw NIN announce that the third in the trilogy ‘Bad Witch‘ will be arriving on June 22. 'Deadpool 2' Creators Say the Film's Queer Superhero Couple Wasn't a Statement: 'It's Everyday Life': https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/pride/8456736/deadpool-2-creators-queer-superhero-couple-interview. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 For queer comic book movie fans of recent years, there has been a serious lack of representation. While films like Black Panther and Wonder Woman became cultural touchstones for their honest depiction of black and female superheroes, respectively, there has been a lack of openly queer superheroes on the silver screen.Deadpool 2, the sequel to the hyper-popular 2016 superhero film, finally gave the audience what they wanted. In an early scene of the film, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) meets up with teenage mutant Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), who introduces the Merc with a Mouth to her girlfriend, a fellow mutant named Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna).Fans rejoiced over the news online, praising the film and its creators for finally bringing an openly queer superhero to the screen, while also praising how ordinary their relationship is treated. In a recent interview with Yahoo, the film’s director, David Leitch, said the romance was portrayed exactly as he wanted it to be. “[It wasn’t] a statement we were trying to make,” he said. “I never really thought of it that way.”Writer Paul Wernick added that the queer couple should be treated as any other couple would in a film. “It’s everyday life,” Wernick said. “We ground Deadpool in real life. As outrageous as it is, Deadpool is a very, very grounded movie.” His writing partner Rhett Reese concurred: “We didn’t want to make too big a deal of it.”In the canon of Marvel comic books themselves, the character of Deadpool actually identifies as panual. In the films thus far, Reynolds’ foul-mouthed crimefighter is in a committed relationship with a woman, while the character has yet to explicitly mention how he identifies.Read the full interview with the Deadpool 2 creators here. #Deadpool, #Creators, #Film, #QueerSuperheroCoupleWasn, #Statement, #EverydayLife #interview, #didnt, #creators, #films, #film, #couple, #teenage, #black, #reynolds, #queer, #deadpool, #deal, #superhero

Grimes Teases Collaborations with LOOΠΔ, Poppy: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Grimes has spent the better part of this year hinting that she’s got new music on the way; in February, the songwriter took to Instagram to comment on the difficulties she’s been having with her “shit label,” and since then—amongst recent discussion about her relationship with Elon Musk—Grimes has continued to tease new music. Now on Twitter, the Canadian musician has revealed more details about two upcoming collaborations she’s a part of. The first is a guest feature on K-pop girl-group LOOΠΔ’s (or Loona) upcoming album Beauty & The Beat. She’s also hinted at another collaboration with YouTube popstar Poppy. Last month, she posted pictures of the two together in what appears to be a video shoot.   #GrimesTeasesCollaborations, #withLOOΠΔPoppy

Jennifer Lopez & DJ Khaled Put on Dazzling Performance of 'Dinero' at the Billboard Music Awards: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 A lot of bling, a lot of style, some kick-ass dancing (JLo does not disappoint) and a whole lotta cash flying around punctured the TV premiere of Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled and Cardi B’s “Dinero" at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on May 20.Although there was no Cardi (a black and white video of her rapping came up for her part of the song), Lopez decidedly was able to carry things out on her own in a slightly modified version of “Dinero” that was ridiculously fun to watch. DJ Khaled did the introductory honors from a separate stage, where he sat on a couch surrounded by mounds of cash and stacks of gold bullions and. Surrounded by a battalion of male dancers, all dressed in 1920s garb, JLo piruotted in wide white pants and a sparkly corsette that later gave way to a white zoot suit and matching hat.Watch JLo and Khaled's "Dinero" performance above. #JenniferLopez, #Khaled, #DazzlingPerformance, #Dinero, #BillboardMusicAwards

Belly Dove: https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review/belly-dove. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 “Tear up the contracts we drew/Our hands gave up too much too soon,” Tanya Donelly laments on “Starryeyed,” the closing track of Dove, Belly's first album in 23 years. The singer's rueful words sound like they could have once been directed at her bandmates, with whom she split after only two albums in the mid-1990s. At the time, the breakup seemed like a hasty move prompted by the failure of their sophomore effort, 1995's King, a collection of infectious, impeccably crafted alt-pop songs that was at direct odds with post-Nirvana rock. (By that time, even the Cranberries had gone grunge.) Dove is as dissimilar to King as that album was to Star, Belly's dreamy, eccentric 1993 debut. In the years since the group called it quits, the individual members, now in their 50s, have become involved in environmental activism and immersed themselves in various visual arts, and you can feel the gulf of over two decades throughout Dove. These are songs that take their sweet time, with a handful even running longer than five minutes. The hooks are less immediate, and with the possible exception of “Army of Clay,” the arrangements are looser than those on the band's previous albums. With a listless intro followed by a burst of fuzzy electric guitar, “Faceless” hints at the giddy, meter-shifting style of King, but the track quickly settles into a reliably measured rhythm. With a few exceptions, the guitar flanger effects that were de rigueur in Belly's heyday are less prominent here; instead, the band favors live strings on tracks like “Girl” and twangy, acoustic guitar on “Artifact” and “Heartstrings.” Many of these songs are, in fact, closer in style and tone to Donelly's solo work than Belly's past output, while “Starryeyed” recalls the wistful folk of Donelly's stepsister, Kristen Hersh. Just as Dove's songs adopt a comparatively traditional pop-rock bent, they're lyrically more cogent than Donelly's early world-salad compositions, with a focus on family and mature relationships. “Suffer the Fools” and “Quicksand” are less angst-ridden breakup songs than lessons in conscious uncoupling. “We let ourselves be owned by things long gone/Old photographs, old songs wrap us in gauze,” Donelly waxes nostalgically on the dream-pop standout “Human Child,” which climbs to a heady climax of intertwining vocal parts reminiscent of the band's past ballads. Belly might take a more conventional approach to their music now, but Dove proves it can still take flight. #BellyDove #MusicAlbumReviewsBellyDoveBellyTouringLLC

Kelly Clarkson Won 'The Voice' Season 14 AND a Bet Against Blake Shelton: http://theboot.com/kelly-clarkson-won-the-voice-season-14-and-a-bet-against-blake-shelton/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 On Tuesday night (May 22), Kelly Clarkson The Voice team member Brynn Cartelli won Season 14 of the TV singing competition. Cartelli's victory didn't just give Clarkson a "W" in her first-ever season as a The Voice coach, though -- it also gave her a win in a bet against her fellow coach, Blake Shelton. Country Music Nation dug up an interview with Clarkson and Shelton from before the start of The Voice Season 14, in which Clarkson revealed the terms of their bet: "When I win he has to call me Queen Kelly Clarkson for everything -- like, 'Yes, queen', 'No, queen,'” she shared at the time. “And if I lose, I have to shut up for five minutes." Write Paulette Cohn brought up Clarkson and Shelton's bet during an interview for Parade, conducted following the announcement of Cartelli's victory. Clarkson said at the time that Shelton had yet to follow through on the terms of their agreement -- but that she was waiting. "I have not checked my phone, but I am going to hold him to it," she said. The two artists didn't set a time limit on their bet, either, so Clarkson says she's ready to hold Shelton to it "I think all next season." Shelton had two contestants place in the The Voice's Season 14 Top 4: Spensha Baker finished fourth, while Kyla Jade placed third. Alicia Keys' team member Britton Buchanan was the runner-up. Team Blake members have one six of the show's seasons thus far. Clarkson and Shelton will have the chance to make another bet during Season 15 of The Voice. All four coaches -- Clarkson, Shelton, Keys and Adam Levine -- will return for the next season. #KellyClarkson, #VoiceSeason, #AgainstBlakeShelton #kellyclarksonblakeshelton, #kellyclarksonblakesheltonthevoice, #kellyclarksonblakesheltonthevoicebet, #kellyclarksonblakesheltonbet

Watch a Preview of Kanye and the Kardashians’ Family Feud Episode: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Kardashian-Jenner matriarch Kris Jenner announced that on June 10 you can watch Steve Harvey make pained expressions at her offspring and son-in-law, Kanye West, during their Family Feud appearance. During the hour-long episode, West teams up with wife Kim Kardashian and other unspecified relatives to form Team West and face off against The Kardashian Family led by momager Kris and featuring  Khloé Kardashian, failed Pepsi spokesperson Kendall Jenner and other family members Kris keeps stockpiled in a remote missile silo. Apparently, ten seasons of a reality show wasn’t enough of a glimpse into this family’s psychodrama, so now they’re facing off on the Feud. Winnings from both sides benefit Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Also, Yeezy doesn’t appear to be wearing a MAGA hat in the promo clip, which is a small blessing for which we can all be grateful. Here’s a glimpse of next month’s episode, featuring West telling Harvey that he has highly kissable lips. The family friend game show appearance comes at a precarious time in West’s career as he has recently alienated fans and peers alike in a right wing heel turn played out on several Twitter sprees praising fringe alt-right creeps and dubbing slavery “a choice.” In other words, set your DVRs. @@maggieserota #Watch, #Preview, #Kanye, #Kardashians’FamilyFeudEpisode

Watch Janet Jackson's Knockout Medley of 'Nasty,' 'If' & 'Throb' at the Billboard Music Awards: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Since the '80s, Janet Jackson has been one of the most ambitious artists in pop music, pushing music forward in new directions with each album. At the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, where she was honored with the Icon Award, Jackson took the stage to perform a medley of three killer dance gems from her catalog: "Nasty," "If" and "Throb."          Jackson opened with "Nasty," the 1986 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 from Control. Janet – or Ms. Jackson, if you're nasty – prowled the stage in a shimmery gold pullover and thigh-high boots. Asking the crowd, "Get the point? Good! Then let's dance," she blessedly delivered the song's iconic line to the audience's joyous response.     Then the sultry, dirty horn riff of her acid house classic "Throb" kicked in (Andy Cohen was loving it) and she delivered a high-energy run-through of that janet. single. She also worked in some of the music and choreography of "If" from the same LP (which just turned 25) before wrapping up and accepting her Icon Award with a moving speech about compassion, love and God.     Watch Jackson's performance above.     #WatchJanetJackson, #KnockoutMedley, #Nasty, #Throb, #BillboardMusicAwards

Nashville Recording Pioneer Glenn Snoddy Passes: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Glenn Snoddy, the founder of Woodland Sound and the dean of Nashville’s recording engineers, has died at age 96.Snoddy was born in Shelbyville, TN on May 4, 1922. He learned radio technology while serving in the Army during World War II. After the war, he began working as an audio engineer at various Middle Tennessee radio stations, then went to work for the Brown Brothers Recording Service in downtown Nashville. This facility was the location of some of Music City’s earliest recording sessions. He went to work for WSM radio in 1951. At the station, he engineered broadcasts of swing bands, the Grand Ole Opry, Ernest Tubb’s Midnight Jamboree, gospel shows and other diverse programs. He also worked at WSMV-TV, becoming a pioneering television engineer in Nashville. In 1960, Snoddy became the chief engineer at Owen Bradley’s famed Quonset Hut on Music Row. He engineered all of Bradley’s productions of Patsy Cline, among others. He remained at the facility after Columbia Records bought it in 1962, working on records by such legends as Johnny Cash, Flatt & Scruggs, Ray Price, Carl Smith and Marty Robbins.Snoddy was the engineer on the 1961 Robbins hit “Don’t Worry.” During the recording session, Grady Martin’s bass guitar fed a distorted signal through a faulty circuit in Snoddy’s mixing console. The engineer invented a circuit approximating this sound, which Gibson then marketed as an electric-guitar pedal. This was the birth of the fuzz tone used so memorably on “Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones in 1965 and later extensively in psychedelic rock music.During his years at The Quonset Hut, Snoddy also created the first stereo recording console in Nashville. He hired a then-unknown Kris Kristofferson to be the studio’s janitor. In 1967, Snoddy took over an old movie theater in East Nashville and converted it into Woodland Sound Studios. At the time, it was one of the most technologically advanced recording facilities in the city.Woodland was the site of the historic recording sessions for The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s 1971 collection . Kansas recorded its “Dust in the Wind” 1978 rock hit there. The Charlie Daniels Band created its famed “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” in 1979 at Woodland. “Elvira” by The Oak Ridge Boys (1981) and “Honey” by Bobby Goldsboro (1968) are among the many other iconic hits from the studio.Barbara Mandrell, Lefty Frizzell, Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, Billy “Crash” Craddock, Eddie Rabbitt, Johnny Lee, Loretta Lynn, Charlie McCoy, Clint Black, Roy Clark, Donna Fargo, Aaron Tippin, Rosanne Cash, Conway Twitty and many other country greats recorded hits at Snoddy’s studio.Woodland also hosted John Prine, Neil Young, Andy Williams, Joe Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Hiatt, Amy Grant, J.J. Cale, Joe Tex, Tracy Nelson, The Indigo Girls, Jimmy Buffett, Slim Harpo, Gordon Lightfoot and other pop stars. 'Mean Girls' Broadway Star Grey Henson Talks His Tony Award Nomination & Representing Queer Youth on Stage: https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/pride/8456189/mean-girls-grey-henson-broadway-star-tony-nomination. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 When the character of Damian appeared onscreen in the 2004 smash hit film Mean Girls, audiences were immediately taken by him. Played by Daniel Franzese, the openly gay high schooler was a dramatic and oftentimes hilarious addition to the cast, constantly coaching Lindsay Lohan’s Cady Heron through social situations while also delivering some of the film’s most iconic lines. Fourteen years later, Damian is back, this time played by Broadway actor Grey Henson, who is creating his own interpretation of the iconic role. Henson plays Damian in the new Broadway musical version of Mean Girls, now featuring the character acting, singing and dancing his way through the story, while trying to find his place at North Shore High School. "I think my favorite part about him as a character is that he is so unapologetically himself, and that's what I think people are drawn to," Henson tells Billboard. "Because that just makes people comfortable when you're watching a show, and somebody just sort of handles themselves that way." The show has achieved serious success in only a month on Broadway -- along with garnerning general praise from critics, the show has been nominated for 12 Tony Awards, one of which is also a nomination for Henson in best featured actor in a musical. Henson talked to Billboard about achieving his first-ever Tony Award nomination, setting an example for young fans, the show’s new cast recording (coming out Friday, May 18) and more. First things first, congratulations on the Tony nomination! I was so thrilled when I saw it -- what was your reaction when you found out? Oh gosh, it was shock and awe, really. Truly, my heart was racing when it was happening. Because you never want to care too much about those things, of course, in case things go the other way. And I was so stoked for the show, because we were racking up a bunch of nominations. But to hear my name called was just wild, and I'm still processing it, for sure. Like you said, the show is the leading the nominations along with the SpongeBob musical. What has that meant for you to see this kind of a response for Mean Girls? It just feels like we're doing it right! [Laughs.] You know, it feels like all of the work is paying off! This whole time, this whole team, the cast, the crew, the creative team has been so amazing. It feels truly like a family, and that started from the top down with Tina [Fey], of course, and our director Casey [Nicholaw]. I got to see the show; you stole every scene you were in, and I felt like you really embodied the role of Damian. Is getting into character as Damian a stretch for you? [Laughs.] I get this question a lot, and I do think that... a lot of me is in Damian, but he's got way more confidence than I do. I think he's a little sassier than I am in real life, and I mean, definitely my high school self is not at the same level as Damian. But that's what I love so much about it, is [how] Damian's confidence becomes mine! John Travolta Is Still Good at Dancing: https://www.spin.com/2018/05/john-travolta-50-cent-cannes-dancing-watch/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 John Travolta is almost certainly going through something. Why has David Miscavige has let him off his leash? Perhaps he’s secretly left Scientology. But one might volunteer any conspiracy theory to explain the Michael star’s recent public behavior consorting with musicians who became popular in the decade surrounding the turn of the 2000s. It was just the other week that Travolta did a walk-through at a Foo Fighters show in the midst of filming his depraved starring role in the new Fred Durst film Moose (Travolta recently called working with the Limp Bizkit mastermind and Tribeca Film Festival award-winner “maybe my favorite experience I’ve had”). Now, it seems Travolta, 64, wasn’t even able to lower the mast on his freak flag during his sojourn at the Cannes Film Festival, an event at which one might expect him to class up a bit. Travolta was there for the premiere of his new John Gotti biopic Gotti, but also received the first ever Variety Cinema Icon Award. 50 Cent palled around with Travolta at the premiere, and later, performed at the party celebrating the Battlefield Earth star’s award. As Variety reports, 50’s opening act was a video montage featuring clips from Travolta’s career and kind words from Robert DeNiro, Oprah Winfrey, Olivia Newton John, and more. When the rapper launched into a rendition of his immutable 2005 hit “Just a Lil Bit,” Travolta, star of Phenomenon, threw caution to a wind and cut a fascinatingly detail-oriented rug on stage, opening with a bit of impressive footwork that makes any potential negative critique automatically invalid. 50 Cent swore on Twitter that he “only came out here because of [Travolta].” You may remember Travolta’s dancing from the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever, which explores the “disco” movement in dancing and music that was popular at the time. Watch below. #JohnTravolta, #StillGood, #Dancing #cannes, #opening, #onstage, #variety, #cent, #john, #travoltas, #travolta, #festival, #danced, #video, #film, #premiere, #gotti

Bishop Briggs Church of Scars: https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review/bishop-briggs-church-of-scars. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 There were reasons to be optimistic about the 1990s revival. The decade saw, for the first and perhaps last time, the blurring of the line between the underground and the mainstream in pop music; introspective singer-songwriters, indie bands, socially conscious rappers, even brooding trip-hop artists from across the pond comingled amicably on the charts. But '90s nostalgia has, to this point, mostly consisted of the resurrection of questionable fashion (scrunchies, mom jeans) and TV (Will and Grace, Roseanne). British singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs's “River,” however, is the kind of song you might have heard sandwiched between Paula Cole's “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?” and the Spice Girls's “Wannabe” on the radio in the late '90s. The track's mix of blues-rock and more contemporary elements—like handclaps that morph into trap snares—feels like a throwback to the alternative-pop bands that infiltrated Top 40 stations just before the turn of the century. And Briggs's debut, Church of Scars, delivers in kind, with a series of gothic-soul dirges and blues-inflected pop. The looped refrain on “River” sounds like it was lifted from Adele's 25, an album that could have, in turn, used some of Briggs's trip-hop edge. Church of Scars harnesses the soulful blues-pop that Adele has so deftly deployed on hits like “Rolling in the Deep.” Standouts “Wild Horses” and “Hallowed Ground” are defined by canned horns and reverb-drenched vocals, while the classic R&B tropes of “Lyin'” and “Hi-Lo (Hollow)” are juxtaposed by pitched-down and diced-up vocals, respectively. Spread across 10 tracks, though, Briggs's formula ultimately reveals itself to be one-note. The incessant box-stomping and earnest belting on “Dream” obliterates the subtlety of the song's pensive acoustic guitar strains and gospel humming. For all its sermonizing and church-y fundamentals, the album is largely joyless. “Why can't I let my demons lie?/Keep screaming into the pillow,” Briggs laments on “Wild Horses.” When, two-thirds of the way through Church of Scars, the singer cynically bemoans that “there's more pain in love than we can find in hate,” her dour disposition has grown exhausting. #BishopBriggsChurch, #Scars #MusicAlbumReviewsBishopBriggsChurchofScarsIsland

Shawn Mendes & Khalid Put on Powerful Performance of 'Youth' at the Billboard Music Awards 2018: Watch: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 The two artists were joined by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Choir. Taking the stage for the second time on Sunday night (May 20) at the Billboard Music Awards, Shawn Mendes paid emotional tribute to the victims of gun violence with a moving performance of his track "Youth" featuring Khalid and the show choir from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.   The song, from Mendes' upcoming self-titled album, features the heartbreaking refrain, "You can't take my youth away/This soul of mine will never break/As long as I wake up today/You can't take my youth away," a plea to stand strong in the face of hopelessness and violence. The poignancy of the moment was heightened by 2018 BBMA host Kelly Clarkson's show-opening tearful plea for action in the wake of Friday's (May 18) shooting massacre at Santa Fe High School in Texas and by the presence of the students from the Florida school, where 14 students and three teachers were killed in a mass shooting in February, spawning the #NeverAgain movement and March's massive March For Our Lives.     Khalid, wearing a blue t-shirt with the message "Protect our Guns," with the guns part crossed out and the world "children" written underneath, stood beside Mendes, who was wearing all black, including a hoodie with "Youth" written in white letters. As Mendes strummed his acoustic guitar on the plaintive R&B ballad, audience members including Halsey got emotional, with the impact of the soul-stirring chorus going through the roof as the dozen students in "Youth" hoodies flanked the men and raised their voices. The crowd rose to its feet when the choir's voices leaned into the refrain, with the students directly impacted by gun violence vowing to stay strong and crowding onto the stage around Mendes and Khalid as they soaked in the love from the star-packed arena.       The performance was introduced by Bebe Rexha, who said, "Last Friday, we experienced another tragedy, this time at Santa Fe High School in Texas. Just a few weeks, ago many students from the very high school joined the protest against gun violence. And they're no different than tens of thousands of young adults across this nation who took a stand and are raising their voices to say: things must change. They inspire me with their hope, with their compassion and with their determination to make a difference and build a better world."     Watch Mendes and Khalid's performance above.  #ShawnMendesKhalid, #PowerfulPerformance, #Youth, #BillboardMusicAwards2018Watch

Damien Jurado’s Stripped-Down The Horizon Just Laughed Is an Effortless Delight: https://www.spin.com/2018/05/damien-jurado-the-horizon-just-laughed-review/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 If anyone resembles Richard Buckner, an alt-country musician who went full oracle twenty years into his career, it’s Damien Jurado. A taciturn sensitive-lumberjack type with a voice like something heavy he’s carrying on his back, Jurado also winds brambly acoustic guitar lines through abstract poetic language, incanting the names of small towns and vast states, mysterious women and disreputable men. And now, he also marks two decades of recording with a masterpiece that divulges a new ability to concretize the ethereal with direct songwriting. This, a 180 from his recent trajectory, is more delightful for being so unexpected. Then again, after twelve albums of turning bad breaks into pretty music, why shouldn’t thirteen be Jurado’s lucky number? The Horizon Just Laughed is stuffed with so many people and places it’s more like teleportation than travel. In less than forty minutes, we’re whisked through Nebraska, Maine, Arizona, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Texas, and Jurado’s home state of Washington, with stops in Seattle, Wenatchee, and Mount Rainier. The songs are addressed, often in epistolary form and always confidingly, to female interlocutors with names like Mary, Lucy, Vera, Alice, Mali H., Cindy Lee, Lou-Jean, and Florence-Jean. The dramatis personae include novelist Thomas Wolfe, inventor Garrett Morgan, sitcom actor Marvin Kaplan, easy-listening bandleaders Percy Faith and Ray Conniff, Peanuts creator Charles Schultz, that news anchor who was held hostage on-air, the guy who wrote “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh,” the angel Moroni, Lucifer, and God. Belying this abundance, the music is stripped down and close-miked so that it pools in your ears as if it were coming from inside your head. Spectral campfire song “Over Rainbows and Rainier” is so intimate you can hear the creak of Jurado’s chair, the soft click of saliva. The songs variously evoke Motown, soft rock, classic girl groups, blues, seventies country-rock, and even disco without being any of them; the trickling soul music of “Dear Thomas Wolfe” and the barrelhouse pop of “Percy Faith” are cut from the same homespun cloth. Jurado’s soft voice is filling in with deeper tones; it seems to go higher and lower at the same time, and it’s never sounded better, recorded with holographic presence and warmly bathed in electric organs, strings, horns, and Anna Lynne Williams’s entrancing close harmonies, all so sparing that songs like “The Last Great Washington State” turn imperceptibly from miniatures to epics. The Horizon Just Laughed by Damien JuradoI adored some of Jurado’s early records, like Rehearsals for Departure and Ghost of David, and the wounded beauty he found in a world of runaways and dropouts, bus stops and gas stations, pill addictions and schizophrenia, cheating and divorce. Whenever “Medication” is playing, it’s the saddest song in the world. But I found his rainy folk-rock in the aughties more hit-or-miss and his semi-psychedelic trilogy of the 2010s downright leaden, although a l #DamienJurado’sStrippedDown, #HorizonJustLaughed, #EffortlessDelight #percy, #jurados, #review, #laughed, #music, #songs, #jurado, #horizon, #damien, #soft, #world

Watch the awkward moment Blink-182 gets played at a baseball game with Tom DeLonge in the crowd: http://www.nme.com/news/music/blink-182-played-at-baseball-game-tom-delonge-awkward-reaction-2314363. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Blink-182 was played at a baseball game Tom DeLonge attended at the weekend, and the star’s reaction was rather awkward. Scroll below to watch. DeLonge was in the crowd for the MLB game between the San Diego Padres and St Louis Cardinals on Sunday (May 13). During the game, ‘All The Small Things’ by DeLonge’s former band was played over the speakers, with members of the crowd singing along to the classic pop-punk track. DeLonge uploaded a clip of the moment on Facebook, along with the caption: “Awkward”. See that below. DeLonge parted ways with Blink-182 in 2015, later being replaced in the band by Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba. Blink’s latest album came in the form of 2016’s ‘California’. It marked the first material to feature Skiba. The band are currently working on new music, with frontman Mark Hoppus recently revealing that their new material sounds like their classic album ‘Take Off Your Pants and Jacket’. The pop-punk outfit have also shared some studio photos. While there’s been no confirmed release date, bassist Hoppus shed some light on what kind of sound could emerge. Posting on Twitter, he said: “Early days still but the newest blink-182 songs sound like they pick up where ‘Take Off Your Pants and Jacket’ left off.” #Watch, #awkward, #moment, #Blink, #gets, #played, #baseball, #game, #with, #DeLonge, #crowd #things, #crowd, #game, #band, #awkward, #small, #gets, #baseball, #sound, #played, #watch, #hoppus, #moment, #jacket

Maren Morris, Zedd to Join 2018 Billboard Music Awards Lineup: http://theboot.com/maren-morris-billboard-music-awards-performance/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Maren Morris, Zedd and Ed Sheeran will be joining the already star-studded lineup of performers slotted to play at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards Ceremony, which will air on May 20 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The roster of artists scheduled to perform at the event also includes Janet Jackson, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes and several more chart-topping artists. The country star officially announced her plans to perform at the ceremony via Instagram and on Monday (May 14), including the caption, "BAY-BUH! We're pulling out the stops with this one. This Sunday night!" Morris and Zedd's collaboration "The Middle" continues to find massive popularity among audiences of all stripes: Following its release in late January, the single shot to the top of the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart in just four weeks, making Morris the first country performer to top that chart since its inception in 2003. The country icon also appeared onstage to perform the hit song in front of a packed house of electronic music fans in late April of 2018, proving once again that she knew how to captivate an audience's attention, no matter what genre of music they showed up to see. That isn't to say that Morris is leaving country music behind, however. Her current single, "Rich," which she performed at the ACM Awards in April of 2018, is steadily climbing the country charts, and comes off of Morris' 2016 debut album, Hero. She'll be in plenty of country company during the Billboard Music Awards ceremony, as well: Chris Stapleton, Sam Hunt, Dustin Lynch and Kane Brown are all nominated for awards. #MarenMorrisZedd, #Join2018BillboardMusicAwardsLineup #marenmorrisbillboardmusicawards, #marenmorriszedsbillboardmusicawards, #marenmorriszedsthemiddlebillboardmusicawards

Dan + Shay Share Romantic Wedding Song, 'Speechless': http://theboot.com/dan-shay-speechless-album-track-list/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Ahead of the release date for their third studio album, Dan + Shay have shared a romantic new ballad, "Speechless," and the song has all the right ingredients to be the wedding song of the summer. Readers can press play above to watch the video for the sentimental song. Featuring video footage from the real-life weddings of bandmates Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney that took place last year, the video offers glimpses into some of the band members' happiest personal moments. Smyer's marriage to Abby Law took place in May of 2017, and Mooney wed Hannah Billingsley in October of 2017. “We both got married last year, and wrote a song about the moment we first saw our beautiful brides walking down the aisle,” the duo posted on Instagram. Some of those swoon-worthy memories have made their way into the song's lyrics. "I know that I'll be a mess / The second that I see you," the duo croons in the first verse of the ballad. "You won't be surprised / That happens every time / Nothing new." The sweeping tune reaches its first chorus just in time to watch Smyers and Mooney, all dressed up in wedding-day tuxes, turn around to the first glimpse of their respective brides. "I'm speechless / You already know that you're my weakness / After all this time I'm just as nervous / Every time you walk into the room," the chorus continues, as the video goes on to depict the couples being announced at their receptions, cutting the wedding cake and enjoying more iconic wedding moments. "Speechless" is a taste of the music from their upcoming eponymous album. On Friday (May 18) the duo shared the track list of their upcoming new album, as well as its release date, via Instagram.  The song follows the release of singles "Tequila" and "All to Myself." #ShayShareRomanticWeddingSongSpeechless #danshayspeechless, #dansmyerswedding, #shaymooneywedding, #danshaymarried, #danshaynewsong, #danshaynewalbum, #danshaywedding

Chromatics unveil atmospheric track ‘Black Walls’, finally confirm release of new album ‘Dear Tommy’: http://www.nme.com/news/music/chromatics-unveil-atmospheric-new-track-black-walls-finally-confirm-release-new-album-dear-tommy-2316123. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Chromatics have at long last confirmed the release of their new record ‘Dear Tommy’ – and have shared a synth-infused single ‘Black Walls’. You can stream the track below. The Portland electronic outfit first announced the highly-anticipated LP back in 2014. However, it was reported last year that Johnny Jewel had destroyed all physical copies of the new material following a near-death experience. It’s believed that he then re-recorded the songs. Now, an atmospheric new cut has been released along with the statement: “’Dear Tommy’ out Fall 2018 on Italians Do It Better.” The shimmering track is accompanied by some slick, colourful visuals that see the band perform in front of flashing LED lights. “Black walls closing in again / Losing sleep and lost in time” sings Ruth Radelet. ‘Dear Tommy’ follows 2012’s ‘Kill For Love’. In 2015, the band released the three-track single ‘Yes’, which was used for Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River. It was the first time they had worked with the actor since the widely successful soundtrack to 2011’s Drive. Last year, Chromatics featured as guests on the re-booted season of Twin Peaks. #Chromatics, #unveil, #atmospheric, #track‘BlackWalls’, #finally, #confirm, #release, #album, #‘DearTommy’ #atmospheric, #chromatics, #release, #finally, #tommy, #album, #walls, #released, #single, #unveil, #band, #black, #track, #dear
