Leon Bridges Good Thing: https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review/leon-bridges-good-thing. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Leon Bridges made his name as a young artist with an affinity for old music. His 2015 debut, Coming Home, was both praised and lightly criticized for its obsessively recreated retro-soul aesthetic, right down to the pleated trousers he wears on the album's cover. With his sophomore effort Good Thing, Bridges brings his classicist R&B chops into the current century—with mixed results. The album opens with “Bet Ain't Worth the Hand,” impeccably channeling Motown's baroque period with a glistening string arrangement and Bridges gliding in and out of a Marvin Gaye-esque falsetto. But his chief aesthetic models here aren't classic soulsters like Gaye and Sam Cooke, but present-day heavy hitters like Sam Smith and Adele—artists who've mapped “retro” sounds onto modern radio formats, achieving crossover success in the process. For at least the first four of Good Thing's 10 tracks, the experiment pays off. “Bad Bad News” pairs a cool jazz groove with a hip-hop-influenced vocal delivery; one can easily imagine Anderson .Paak doing something similar with the track. “Beyond,” meanwhile, effortlessly integrates the country-soul vibes Justin Timberlake recently spent a whole album clumsily chasing. With Good Thing, Bridges brings his classicist R&B chops into the current century—with mixed results. But the album falters when Bridges strays from his retro-soul wheelhouse. The fingerprints of producer Ricky Reed are too evident on “Forgive You,” a bland slice of adult-contemporary R&B that wouldn't sound out of place on the Maroon 5 album Reed recently helped produce. The sleek, '80s-style pop-funk of “If It Feels Good, Then It Must Be” fares better, but lacks the conviction of other recent forays in the style, such as Janelle Monáe's “Make Me Feel.” Bridges goes out on a high note with “Georgia to Texas,” a moving tribute to his mother that plays to the same stripped-down gospel strengths as his breakout song “River.” It's just him accompanied by drums, saxophone, piano, and stand-up bass; you can even hear the bass player's fingers scraping against the strings. And after the album's muddled middle section, the closing track feels like a reminder of what Bridges does best: not “retro” per se, but lived-in and genuine. That's something Good Thing—and contemporary R&B more generally—could use a little more of. #LeonBridgesGoodThing #MusicAlbumReviewsLeonBridgesGoodThingColumbia

Chromatics unveil atmospheric track ‘Black Walls’, finally confirm release of new album ‘Dear Tommy’: http://www.nme.com/news/music/chromatics-unveil-atmospheric-new-track-black-walls-finally-confirm-release-new-album-dear-tommy-2316123. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Chromatics have at long last confirmed the release of their new record ‘Dear Tommy’ – and have shared a synth-infused single ‘Black Walls’. You can stream the track below. The Portland electronic outfit first announced the highly-anticipated LP back in 2014. However, it was reported last year that Johnny Jewel had destroyed all physical copies of the new material following a near-death experience. It’s believed that he then re-recorded the songs. Now, an atmospheric new cut has been released along with the statement: “’Dear Tommy’ out Fall 2018 on Italians Do It Better.” The shimmering track is accompanied by some slick, colourful visuals that see the band perform in front of flashing LED lights. “Black walls closing in again / Losing sleep and lost in time” sings Ruth Radelet. ‘Dear Tommy’ follows 2012’s ‘Kill For Love’. In 2015, the band released the three-track single ‘Yes’, which was used for Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River. It was the first time they had worked with the actor since the widely successful soundtrack to 2011’s Drive. Last year, Chromatics featured as guests on the re-booted season of Twin Peaks. #Chromatics, #unveil, #atmospheric, #track‘BlackWalls’, #finally, #confirm, #release, #album, #‘DearTommy’ #atmospheric, #chromatics, #release, #finally, #tommy, #album, #walls, #released, #single, #unveil, #band, #black, #track, #dear

Eng-er-land! Punk supergroup The Tallywags unveil World Cup single: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Punk supergroup The Tallywags have unveiled ‘Charge Of The Light Brigade’, an unofficial World Cup anthem to help England on the path to inevitable World Cup f̶a̶i̶l̶u̶r̶e̶  glory. The single is the first release from the group, which boasts an illustrious line-up of former Sex Pistols and Professionals drummer Paul Cook, Tom Spencer from The Professionals and The Men They Couldn’t Hang and  Chris McCormack from The Professionals and Three Colours Red. The line-up is completed by Toy Dolls singer Olga and Wildhearts bassist Danny McCormack. Although success is all but guaranteed for Gareth Southgate’s men in Russia, the punk track offers a message of hope – urging them to correct the mistakes of past England teams, while also encouraging the whole nation to back the team. It’s also accompanied by a video that sees the band belting out the track on an astro turf pitch, along with cameos from two men who may or may not be Diego Maradona and Paul Gascoigne. The group’s efforts to pin their colours to the mast comes after the FA confirmed that England will be heading to this summer’s tournament in Russia without the support of an official single. Noel Gallagher also recently revealed who he is backing to win the World Cup, but it’s not necessarily what England fans would want to hear. #land, #Punk, #supergroup, #Tallywags, #unveilWorld, #single

Belly Dove: https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review/belly-dove. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 “Tear up the contracts we drew/Our hands gave up too much too soon,” Tanya Donelly laments on “Starryeyed,” the closing track of Dove, Belly's first album in 23 years. The singer's rueful words sound like they could have once been directed at her bandmates, with whom she split after only two albums in the mid-1990s. At the time, the breakup seemed like a hasty move prompted by the failure of their sophomore effort, 1995's King, a collection of infectious, impeccably crafted alt-pop songs that was at direct odds with post-Nirvana rock. (By that time, even the Cranberries had gone grunge.) Dove is as dissimilar to King as that album was to Star, Belly's dreamy, eccentric 1993 debut. In the years since the group called it quits, the individual members, now in their 50s, have become involved in environmental activism and immersed themselves in various visual arts, and you can feel the gulf of over two decades throughout Dove. These are songs that take their sweet time, with a handful even running longer than five minutes. The hooks are less immediate, and with the possible exception of “Army of Clay,” the arrangements are looser than those on the band's previous albums. With a listless intro followed by a burst of fuzzy electric guitar, “Faceless” hints at the giddy, meter-shifting style of King, but the track quickly settles into a reliably measured rhythm. With a few exceptions, the guitar flanger effects that were de rigueur in Belly's heyday are less prominent here; instead, the band favors live strings on tracks like “Girl” and twangy, acoustic guitar on “Artifact” and “Heartstrings.” Many of these songs are, in fact, closer in style and tone to Donelly's solo work than Belly's past output, while “Starryeyed” recalls the wistful folk of Donelly's stepsister, Kristen Hersh. Just as Dove's songs adopt a comparatively traditional pop-rock bent, they're lyrically more cogent than Donelly's early world-salad compositions, with a focus on family and mature relationships. “Suffer the Fools” and “Quicksand” are less angst-ridden breakup songs than lessons in conscious uncoupling. “We let ourselves be owned by things long gone/Old photographs, old songs wrap us in gauze,” Donelly waxes nostalgically on the dream-pop standout “Human Child,” which climbs to a heady climax of intertwining vocal parts reminiscent of the band's past ballads. Belly might take a more conventional approach to their music now, but Dove proves it can still take flight. #BellyDove #MusicAlbumReviewsBellyDoveBellyTouringLLC

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones Preview New Album With 'Wonderful Day for the Race': Exclusive: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/8456692/the-mighty-mighty-bosstones-new-album. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Fresh off their performance at last month’s Back to the Beach Festival, a SoCal throwdown featuring many of their ’90s ska peers, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have announced the June 15 release of While We’re At It, their first new album since 2011. Billboard has the exclusive premiere of the leadoff single, “Wonderful Day for the Race,” below. The new song is classic Bosstones: a rush of big-hearted brass and frantic guitars inviting you to dance your face off while contemplating larger issues. The multi-racial Boston nine-piece has always broadcast messages of tolerance—the “it” in the title of their 1997 blockbuster Let’s Face It refers to bigotry of all kinds—and “Wonderful Day at the Race” hints at those same ideas. The “race” in the lyrics ain’t the Kentucky Derby—it’s the human one, a noun people always seem to forget is singular.“That song was based on the insignificance of what we truly are, up against the importance of what we are,” says Bosstones frontman Dicky Barrett. “Our place in the universe and who we think we are versus who we really are. It flip-flops back and forth between those two thoughts, ultimately landing on the importance of love and unity.”The title was inspired by something Barrett’s dad liked to say back in the day: “It’s a wonderful day for the race.”“I was always caught off guard,” says Barrett. “As a dopey kid, I would go, ‘What race?’ And he would always go, ‘The human race.’ It’s a tribute to him as well as a good message. We’re lucky to have what we have. We have this day, and we have who we are in ourselves. If that’s your starting point, that’s pretty damn good.”Elsewhere on While We’re At It, the Bosstones’ 10th studio album and third with producer Ted Hutt, the politics are a little more explicit. The beat-driven “Divide” calls out a certain “unstable and erratic” leader, while “Here We Are” describes a nation in freefall over stabbing guitars.“Hugo’s Wife” upends the notion that America was any better in the ‘50s. It’s all about Bosstones bassist Joe Gittleman’s grandfather Hugo Butler, a famed Hollywood screenwriter who was blacklisted during the communist witch hunts of the ’50s and forced to live in exile in Mexico with his wife, actress Jean Rouverol. The song ends with Barrett singing, “Political audacity that will go down in history / a lesson that we didn’t really learn.”“I don’t think our politics are confusing,” says Barrett, who also serves as the announcer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “I think people know where we stand and know the things we believe in. We say them, and we stand behind them.”As much as While We’re At It reflects life in 2018, The Bosstones also want to offer fans an escape. The album kicks off with “Green Bay, Wisconsin,” a high-stepping romp about a Midwestern ska girl who quits her supermarket job and finds bliss at the Viva Lake Geneva Scooter Rally. Barrett says they were trying to write “the ultimate ska song,” and sure enough, the chorus references “One Step Beyond” by Madness an #MightyMightyBosstonesPreview, #AlbumWithWonderful, #RaceExclusive #race, #mighty, #wonderful, #preview, #thats, #album, #exclusive, #bosstones, #beat, #think, #barrett, #song

Get a First Look at Harry Styles-Produced Sitcom 'Happy Together': . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 The premise is as old as time: boy band heartthrob moves out of his family home and ends up crashing with the his mentor for a few weeks that turn into nearly two years and hijinks ensue. That's the basic storyline of Happy Together, a sitcom coming to CBS in the fall that will be executive produced by aforementioned heartthrob, Harry Styles, and Ben Winston, the Late Late Show exec producer who let Styles sleep on his couch during the One Direction singer's rocket rise to pop stardom. The four-minute trailer for the series was revealed on Wednesday (May 16) and it features dashingly handsome Australian actor Felix Mallard, 20, playing Harry-alike Cooper James, who is forced to hide from the paparazzi in the suburban home of his super-square accountant, Jake (Damon Wayans Jr.) and wife Claire (Amber Stevens) after a breakup.  The traditional-looking sitcom plays up James' good looks and affable nature and the couple's dorky rituals, like recording unnecessarily elaborate musical answering machine messages and their general awkwardness around the superstar.Happy Together will air on Mondays at 8:30 p.m ET on CBS.Check out the trailer below. #FirstLook, #HarryStylesProducedSitcomHappyTogether

Bishop Briggs Church of Scars: https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review/bishop-briggs-church-of-scars. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 There were reasons to be optimistic about the 1990s revival. The decade saw, for the first and perhaps last time, the blurring of the line between the underground and the mainstream in pop music; introspective singer-songwriters, indie bands, socially conscious rappers, even brooding trip-hop artists from across the pond comingled amicably on the charts. But '90s nostalgia has, to this point, mostly consisted of the resurrection of questionable fashion (scrunchies, mom jeans) and TV (Will and Grace, Roseanne). British singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs's “River,” however, is the kind of song you might have heard sandwiched between Paula Cole's “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?” and the Spice Girls's “Wannabe” on the radio in the late '90s. The track's mix of blues-rock and more contemporary elements—like handclaps that morph into trap snares—feels like a throwback to the alternative-pop bands that infiltrated Top 40 stations just before the turn of the century. And Briggs's debut, Church of Scars, delivers in kind, with a series of gothic-soul dirges and blues-inflected pop. The looped refrain on “River” sounds like it was lifted from Adele's 25, an album that could have, in turn, used some of Briggs's trip-hop edge. Church of Scars harnesses the soulful blues-pop that Adele has so deftly deployed on hits like “Rolling in the Deep.” Standouts “Wild Horses” and “Hallowed Ground” are defined by canned horns and reverb-drenched vocals, while the classic R&B tropes of “Lyin'” and “Hi-Lo (Hollow)” are juxtaposed by pitched-down and diced-up vocals, respectively. Spread across 10 tracks, though, Briggs's formula ultimately reveals itself to be one-note. The incessant box-stomping and earnest belting on “Dream” obliterates the subtlety of the song's pensive acoustic guitar strains and gospel humming. For all its sermonizing and church-y fundamentals, the album is largely joyless. “Why can't I let my demons lie?/Keep screaming into the pillow,” Briggs laments on “Wild Horses.” When, two-thirds of the way through Church of Scars, the singer cynically bemoans that “there's more pain in love than we can find in hate,” her dour disposition has grown exhausting. #BishopBriggsChurch, #Scars #MusicAlbumReviewsBishopBriggsChurchofScarsIsland

Watch Dan Smith shave his head in Bastille’s new video for ‘Quarter Past Midnight’: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Bastille have unveiled their new video for ‘Quarter Past Midnight’ which sees frontman Dan Smith shave off his iconic hair. Buy Bastille merch here The song is the first track taken from their upcoming new record, due for release later this year. The video is directed by Austin Peters, who has previously worked with the band on their videos for ‘Flaws,’ ‘Laura Palmer’ and ‘Oblivion’. “We made the video over a couple of days and nights in Paris with our incredibly talented friend, and long-time collaborator, Austin Peters,” Dan said in a statement. “It’s is a nod towards some of our favourite films and directors. Like the album as a whole, it’s a surreal journey through euphoric highs and lows of a night, and all that comes with it: the escapism, warped realities, and unclear memories.” Watch it below. “A bunch of friends came along to be involved and help make the video,” adds Smith. “We’re really happy that they did because it’s a celebration of all the amazing people who are partying and feeling alive at night, in light of the strange, dark world we live in. And we could all use a bit of celebration sometimes.” Speaking of ‘Quarter Past Midnight’ Smith says the song was inspired by the people who come out at night. “It’s way easier to escape in the night time,” he explains. “Places that aren’t normally open are open to the world, and the places that you associate with reality and work are all shut down. There’s a parallel universe that exists, and this other set of people who are out and about.” Bastille recorded the new album in their newly built studio in London that Smith describes as “an old porn studio that we turned into a place that could be ours.” They spent five months working on the new material, with the new album marking their first new body of work since 2016’s ‘Wild Wood’. Their debut album, ‘Bad Blood’, went on to go triple platinum. #Watch, #Smith, #shave, #head, #Bastille’s, #video, #‘QuarterPastMidnight’

Luke Bryan, 'Idol' Finalist Gabby Barrett Collaborate on 'Most People Are Good' [WATCH]: http://theboot.com/luke-bryan-gabby-barrett-sunrise-sunburn-sunset-most-people-are-good/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 After sitting behind the judges' table all season, Luke Bryan hopped onstage during the season finale of American Idol on Monday night (May 21). The country star performed his new single, "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset," then teamed with finalist Gabby Barrett for "Most People Are Good." "Finally, I get to sing for you guys!" Bryan said from stage. Of his collaboration with Barrett, he added, "Ladies and gentlemen, I am so very excited for this next moment. I am so looking forward to singing with this girl." Readers can press play above to see both of Bryan's performances during Monday night's Idol episode. The finale also included an appearance from Darius Rucker, who teamed up with another finalist, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, to sing "Wagon Wheel." Barrett was one of Idol's Top 3 contestants headed into Monday night's finale. She placed third and was eliminated during the episode, before Hutchinson was named the season's runner-up and Maddie Poppe was crowned this season's winner. In a twist, just before the results were revealed, Hutchinson and Poppe shared that they are dating; the two struck up a friendship -- and then a romantic relationship -- after meeting during the show's Hollywood Week. The just-concluded season of American Idol was the show's first on ABC, after 15 seasons on Fox and a brief hiatus. The TV singing competition has been renewed for another season on ABC, with judges Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry all returning. #LukeBryanIdolFinalistGabbyBarrettCollaborate, #MostPeople, #Good[WATCH] #lukebryanamericanidol2018, #lukebryanidol2018, #lukebryansunrisesunburnsunsetamericanidol, #lukebryangabbybarrett, #lukebryangabbybarrettmostpeoplearegood

Around the 2:30 mark, Minaj makes an appearance on the track with a rap verse."I'll rip up her life, yo get the knife/ Because you're low-key my wife, you're my bitch for life," she raps in the cameo. "You're a 10, she a two, life sucks for her/ Let's punch her in her face and take her jewels/ It's May, we don't play with them April fools." Haim responded to the SNL sketch on social media, tweeting, WAIT WHAT ?!?! HAHAHHAHHAAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAH," with a link to an online article about the parody.Elsewhere in the season 43 finale, Minaj performed “Chun-Li” and her verse from Playboi Carti’s recent Die Lit track “Poke It Out.”Watch a clip of the Haim-inspired sketch below. This article originally appeared on Spin. #WatchNickiMinajPoke, #Haim, #FriendshipSongSketch #nicki, #cast, #outwatch, #friendship, #life, #sketch, #pokes, #imagination, #cutting, #song, #track, #youre, #minaj, #haim

'Deadpool 2' Creators Say the Film's Queer Superhero Couple Wasn't a Statement: 'It's Everyday Life': https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/pride/8456736/deadpool-2-creators-queer-superhero-couple-interview. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 For queer comic book movie fans of recent years, there has been a serious lack of representation. While films like Black Panther and Wonder Woman became cultural touchstones for their honest depiction of black and female superheroes, respectively, there has been a lack of openly queer superheroes on the silver screen.Deadpool 2, the sequel to the hyper-popular 2016 superhero film, finally gave the audience what they wanted. In an early scene of the film, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) meets up with teenage mutant Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), who introduces the Merc with a Mouth to her girlfriend, a fellow mutant named Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna).Fans rejoiced over the news online, praising the film and its creators for finally bringing an openly queer superhero to the screen, while also praising how ordinary their relationship is treated. In a recent interview with Yahoo, the film’s director, David Leitch, said the romance was portrayed exactly as he wanted it to be. “[It wasn’t] a statement we were trying to make,” he said. “I never really thought of it that way.”Writer Paul Wernick added that the queer couple should be treated as any other couple would in a film. “It’s everyday life,” Wernick said. “We ground Deadpool in real life. As outrageous as it is, Deadpool is a very, very grounded movie.” His writing partner Rhett Reese concurred: “We didn’t want to make too big a deal of it.”In the canon of Marvel comic books themselves, the character of Deadpool actually identifies as panual. In the films thus far, Reynolds’ foul-mouthed crimefighter is in a committed relationship with a woman, while the character has yet to explicitly mention how he identifies.Read the full interview with the Deadpool 2 creators here. #Deadpool, #Creators, #Film, #QueerSuperheroCoupleWasn, #Statement, #EverydayLife #interview, #didnt, #creators, #films, #film, #couple, #teenage, #black, #reynolds, #queer, #deadpool, #deal, #superhero

EDC Las Vegas 2018 Day 1 Highlights: Flux Pavilion, Eric Prydz, San Holo & More: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Kudos to Insomniac for moving the Electric Daisy Carnival up a month. The weather was perfect and a welcome reprieve from the excessive desert heat in years past at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Even some of the stages were redesigned to have an open-air feel instead of the dancing bodies sweating up a storm and trapping heat in a tent structure.Billboard Dance takes you on the scene from the opening night on Saturday (May 19).10:15 p.m.: Leaving the Strip after the Vegas Golden Knights hockey game, a variety of ninja surface street routes aided arrival at EDC. While pausing to study the map in the stands overlooking the Cosmic Meadow, I heard the vintage sound of a disposable film camera. A young man body-painted pink and purple like the Cheshire Cat was going old school as he lost his phone on Wednesday. When asking where you’d even go to develop the pictures, he said he had no idea, but was excited to see what turned out. 10:19 p.m.: While descending the stairs to the lush Cosmic Meadow, Mike Will Made-It dropped a dope remix of the Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” that I’d love to get my hands on.10:43 p.m.: The Carnival Square at the center of EDC has been transformed into the ultimate chilling area, complete beanbag chairs. On the big screen, some sort of derpy version of Rick & Morty was playing (upon further research, it was the Bushworld Adventures special). Rick & Morty was a popular choice for attendees, either via their totems or attire and I’ll be wearing my Pickle Rick shirt at some point this weekend.10:53 p.m.: Claude VonStroke over at the Circuit Grounds was throwing down for all the Dirty Birdies as I spotted the first of multiple Vegas Golden Knights flags waving above the crowd. As I was still wearing my custom VGK dress from the game, we struck up a conversation and a girl in the crew also gave me VGK kandi as the vocals in the current track encourage the crowd to “Close your eyes and dance with me.” Us locals love our new team, especially with how they brought the community together after the Oct. 1 mass shooting tragedy.11:23 p.m.: While walking to another stage, I spotted a totem with a collage of pictures. Upon getting closer, I realized they were all pictures of Avicii. RIP Tim.11:26 p.m.: Is there a Guinness World Record for largest beach chair? If not, it should go to the Corona Electric Beach for their giant lounger.11:33 p.m.: A trio of Lt. Dangle doppelgängers exits the Neon Garden stage. With Lee Foss playing, I was hesitant to go inside the replica warehouse façade that keeps in line with Insomniac’s Factory 93 underground brand. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually open-air once in and that it avoided becoming the kind of warehouse party that has sweat from dancers condensing on the walls and ceiling.11:47 p.m.: Plenty of amusement around seeing a totem depicting a row of Porta-Potties with the message “This is where the panties drop.”12:02 a.m.: While sitting outside the Neon Garden (it also seems #Vegas2018, #HighlightsFluxPavilionEricPrydz, #HoloMore

Skrrap! Big Shaq returns with new track ‘Man Don’t Dance’: http://www.nme.com/news/music/skrrap-big-shaq-returns-new-track-man-dont-dance-2318923. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Big Shaq has returned with new track ‘Man Don’t Dance’. Check it out in full below. The track is the latest effort from London comedian Michael Dapaah and acts as an unofficial sequel to 2017’s ‘Man’s Not Hot’, which became a huge viral hit across the globe. Check out the track in full below. Since the success of ‘Man’s Not Hot’, Big Shaq has become a familiar presence both on TV and online – bagging an NME Award nomination for ‘Hero Of The Year’ in 2018. He also spoke to NME about his hope of collaborating with Noel Gallagher, after the former Oasis guitarist admitted that he was a big fan of the rapper. “Noel Gallagher, he’s a legend,” Shaq told NME. “One legend’s approval of what you’re doing is nice – but you know, let’s wait and see what’s going to happen.” Asked about the likelihood of the pair working together, he replied: “Who knows? Who bloody knows mate?” Rather bizarrely, Shaq also became the face of Lynx earlier this year – receiving a talking can that plays his track every time it is sprayed. Shaq’s  fame was initially cemented by an appearance on Charlie Sloth’s  ‘Fire In The Booth’ session on 1Xtra, and he gained a fan in Jeremy Corbyn, who referenced him at last year’s Labour party conference. He gave an alternative Queen’s speech last Christmas, and even teamed up with Jack Whitehall at this year’s BRIT Awards, performing ‘Man’s Not Hot’ at the O2 Arena in London. #Skrrap, #Shaq, #returns, #with, #track, #‘ManDon’tDance’ #london, #track, #sequel, #returns, #mans, #shaq, #dont, #knows, #dance, #skrrap

'Mean Girls' Broadway Star Grey Henson Talks His Tony Award Nomination & Representing Queer Youth on Stage: https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/pride/8456189/mean-girls-grey-henson-broadway-star-tony-nomination. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 When the character of Damian appeared onscreen in the 2004 smash hit film Mean Girls, audiences were immediately taken by him. Played by Daniel Franzese, the openly gay high schooler was a dramatic and oftentimes hilarious addition to the cast, constantly coaching Lindsay Lohan’s Cady Heron through social situations while also delivering some of the film’s most iconic lines. Fourteen years later, Damian is back, this time played by Broadway actor Grey Henson, who is creating his own interpretation of the iconic role. Henson plays Damian in the new Broadway musical version of Mean Girls, now featuring the character acting, singing and dancing his way through the story, while trying to find his place at North Shore High School. "I think my favorite part about him as a character is that he is so unapologetically himself, and that's what I think people are drawn to," Henson tells Billboard. "Because that just makes people comfortable when you're watching a show, and somebody just sort of handles themselves that way." The show has achieved serious success in only a month on Broadway -- along with garnerning general praise from critics, the show has been nominated for 12 Tony Awards, one of which is also a nomination for Henson in best featured actor in a musical. Henson talked to Billboard about achieving his first-ever Tony Award nomination, setting an example for young fans, the show’s new cast recording (coming out Friday, May 18) and more. First things first, congratulations on the Tony nomination! I was so thrilled when I saw it -- what was your reaction when you found out? Oh gosh, it was shock and awe, really. Truly, my heart was racing when it was happening. Because you never want to care too much about those things, of course, in case things go the other way. And I was so stoked for the show, because we were racking up a bunch of nominations. But to hear my name called was just wild, and I'm still processing it, for sure. Like you said, the show is the leading the nominations along with the SpongeBob musical. What has that meant for you to see this kind of a response for Mean Girls? It just feels like we're doing it right! [Laughs.] You know, it feels like all of the work is paying off! This whole time, this whole team, the cast, the crew, the creative team has been so amazing. It feels truly like a family, and that started from the top down with Tina [Fey], of course, and our director Casey [Nicholaw]. I got to see the show; you stole every scene you were in, and I felt like you really embodied the role of Damian. Is getting into character as Damian a stretch for you? [Laughs.] I get this question a lot, and I do think that... a lot of me is in Damian, but he's got way more confidence than I do. I think he's a little sassier than I am in real life, and I mean, definitely my high school self is not at the same level as Damian. But that's what I love so much about it, is [how] Damian's confidence becomes mine! Jonathan Cain Talks New Solo Release, Shares Title Track 'The Songs You Leave Behind': Premiere: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/8456506/jonathan-cain-the-songs-you-leave-behind-premiere. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 As he prepares to release his own new album The Songs You Leave Behind -- a compendium of both new and older material whose title track is premiering exclusively below -- next month, Jonathan Cain is also feeling optimistic about some new Journey music in the future."I'd like to revisit that," Cain tells Billboard. "I'm in a good place musically, mentally, spiritually. I'd like to get with Neal (Schon) and find out what he's got on his mind, get with Arnel (Pineda) and just start gathering (material) and see what we've got." Cain is hopeful that opportunity will come during Journey's summer tour with Def Leppard and the Pretenders and lead to hitting the studio -- preferably Cain's own in Nashville, where he has the Record Plant console on which Journey made 1986's Raised On Radio  -- later this year."After this tour we may have a window to do it," Cain says. "It could be a great record. I can almost see it in my mind. I couldn't tell you that a year ago."Last year, of course, Journey was curiously embattled following its April induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Some social media posts by Schon and aimed primarily at Cain pointed to a band at odds. But that's apparently not the case anymore."Neal and I have reset," reports Cain, who claimed to be baffled by the issues last year and says he's not addressed them any further now. "We didn't even talk about it. We don't have to. It's over. It was a big misunderstanding to a large degree. We didn't have to explain it. Time heals everything. The music's bigger than those kinds of disagreements. When I walked into the room for rehearsals I could see (Schon) was ready to go again. He's excited to go out there and play together, and I think the brotherhood is restored in a good way."With Journey back on the road May 21, Cain will bring out The Songs You Leave Behind on June 8. Inspired by his 2017 memoir Don't Stop Believin'..., the 19-track album combines songs from his pre-Journey career, some of which were companion pieces for the audio version of the book, and seven never before released tracks, including "What Else Have I Missed," which is dedicated to Cain's children, and "The Songs You Leave Behind." "I finished (the title track) the day I spent making a video about the book," Cain recalls. "I was driving home from Nashville to Orlando and I was just, like, hit with this song. I probably wrote in in 20 minutes, just like boom boom boom. I wrote 'Faithfully' like that, a 20-minute tune, automatic and effortless. It's just me saying you'll be remembered for the songs you leave behind; As a songwriter and having the blessings and the success I've had, that's all I can hope for, y'know?"Cain calls The Songs You Leave Behind "a very personal album" and is also happy to have a vehicle for '70s material that's gone out of print over the years. The set includes several faith-based songs, while the wrenching "The Day They Became Angels" recalls the 1958 fire at his parochial school in Chicago #JonathanCainTalks, #SoloReleaseSharesTitleTrack, #Songs, #LeaveBehindPremiere #written, #journey, #leave, #boom, #jonathan, #talks, #cain, #songs, #schon, #thats, #solo, #title, #material, #track

Jennifer Lopez & DJ Khaled Put on Dazzling Performance of 'Dinero' at the Billboard Music Awards: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 A lot of bling, a lot of style, some kick-ass dancing (JLo does not disappoint) and a whole lotta cash flying around punctured the TV premiere of Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled and Cardi B’s “Dinero" at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on May 20.Although there was no Cardi (a black and white video of her rapping came up for her part of the song), Lopez decidedly was able to carry things out on her own in a slightly modified version of “Dinero” that was ridiculously fun to watch. DJ Khaled did the introductory honors from a separate stage, where he sat on a couch surrounded by mounds of cash and stacks of gold bullions and. Surrounded by a battalion of male dancers, all dressed in 1920s garb, JLo piruotted in wide white pants and a sparkly corsette that later gave way to a white zoot suit and matching hat.Watch JLo and Khaled's "Dinero" performance above. #JenniferLopez, #Khaled, #DazzlingPerformance, #Dinero, #BillboardMusicAwards

Kendrick Lamar Calls Out White Fan for Singing N-Word During 'M.A.A.D City' at Hangout Festival: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Kendrick Lamar headlined the final day of Hangout Festival on Sunday in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and invited a few lucky fans to rap “M.A.A.D City” onstage with him before the performance went awry.According to @alsostephenking on Twitter, who was at the music festival this weekend, the “HUMBLE.” rapper needed fans who knew all the words to the title track of his 2012 studio album good kid, m.A.A.d city. One white female festivalgoer was chosen to rap the hook of the song after two others were given a shot. While dodging the first N-word, she slipped up on the second time, it appears, and continued to sing it two more times as the crowd groaned in response. Lamar halted the song before laying down the ground rules. “You got to bleep one single word though,” he said. The fan apologized, and despite the crowd’s incessant booing, the rapper graciously gave her a second chance to perform onstage. Beach House Get Super Dark for 'Drunk In LA' Performance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!': Watch: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/8456488/jimmy-kimmel-live-beach-house-drunk-in-la. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Gothic dream pop outfit Beach House rocked the stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night (May 16) with a haunting performance of their latest single "Drunk In LA." The group played the song from their critically-acclaimed album 7 pretty much as you would expect – completely shrouded in darkness, with fog swirling around their heels. Wearing a black leather jacket and matching pants, singer Victoria Legrand hid her eyes under straight-cut bangs as she calmly played the keys and near-whispered her spooky vocals. Meanwhile, Alex Scally played a My Bloody Valentine-like pysch-goth guitar solo, as a pair of creepy translucent eyes darted around the screen behind the trio.Check out the eerie performance below: #BeachHouse, #SuperDark, #Drunk, #Performance, #JimmyKimmelLiveWatch #group, #creepy, #jimmy, #performance, #singer, #black, #shrouded, #dark, #live, #house, #watch, #bloody, #eyes, #beach

Ariana Grande hits out at fan over Mac Miller break-up criticism, says relationship was “toxic”: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Ariana Grande has responded to a fan’s “absurd” criticism of her break-up with Mac Miller – and says that her former relationship was “toxic”. It was confirmed earlier this month that Grande and rapper Miller had “quietly cut off their romantic relationship after their work schedules became too busy”. However, it was said that the pair remained on good terms. Grande confirmed the news and described her ex as “one of my best friends in the world”, adding that she “respects and adores him endlessly” and is “so proud of him”. Mac Miller and Ariana Grande in 2016 Yesterday (May 22), a tweet from a fan of Miller went viral after he took aim at Grande in regards to the recent separation. He posted: “Mac Miller totalling his G wagon and getting a DUI after Ariana Grande dumped him for another dude after he poured his heart out on a ten song album to her called the divine feminine is just the most heartbreaking thing happening in Hollywood”. The ‘One Last Time’ pop star then responded to the fan, criticising the ism in blaming her for Miller’s actions. “How absurd that you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which btw isn’t the case (just Cinderella is ab me),” Grande said. “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be. She continued: “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course) but shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem. Let’s please stop doing that.” The fan was referring to Miller’s car crash in LA last week. It was reported that the artist’s blood-alcohol level was almost twice over the legal limit. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande marked the first anniversary of the Manchester Arena attack with a message to her fans yesterday. “Thinking of you all today and every day,” she tweeted. “I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day.” In other news, it’s been confirmed that the singer’s new album will be called ‘Sweetener’ and is set to be released at some point over the summer. The single ‘No Tears Left To Cry‘ dropped last month.       #ArianaGrande, #hits, #over, #Miller, #break, #criticism, #says, #relationship, #“toxic”

Damien Jurado’s Stripped-Down The Horizon Just Laughed Is an Effortless Delight: https://www.spin.com/2018/05/damien-jurado-the-horizon-just-laughed-review/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 If anyone resembles Richard Buckner, an alt-country musician who went full oracle twenty years into his career, it’s Damien Jurado. A taciturn sensitive-lumberjack type with a voice like something heavy he’s carrying on his back, Jurado also winds brambly acoustic guitar lines through abstract poetic language, incanting the names of small towns and vast states, mysterious women and disreputable men. And now, he also marks two decades of recording with a masterpiece that divulges a new ability to concretize the ethereal with direct songwriting. This, a 180 from his recent trajectory, is more delightful for being so unexpected. Then again, after twelve albums of turning bad breaks into pretty music, why shouldn’t thirteen be Jurado’s lucky number? The Horizon Just Laughed is stuffed with so many people and places it’s more like teleportation than travel. In less than forty minutes, we’re whisked through Nebraska, Maine, Arizona, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Texas, and Jurado’s home state of Washington, with stops in Seattle, Wenatchee, and Mount Rainier. The songs are addressed, often in epistolary form and always confidingly, to female interlocutors with names like Mary, Lucy, Vera, Alice, Mali H., Cindy Lee, Lou-Jean, and Florence-Jean. The dramatis personae include novelist Thomas Wolfe, inventor Garrett Morgan, sitcom actor Marvin Kaplan, easy-listening bandleaders Percy Faith and Ray Conniff, Peanuts creator Charles Schultz, that news anchor who was held hostage on-air, the guy who wrote “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh,” the angel Moroni, Lucifer, and God. Belying this abundance, the music is stripped down and close-miked so that it pools in your ears as if it were coming from inside your head. Spectral campfire song “Over Rainbows and Rainier” is so intimate you can hear the creak of Jurado’s chair, the soft click of saliva. The songs variously evoke Motown, soft rock, classic girl groups, blues, seventies country-rock, and even disco without being any of them; the trickling soul music of “Dear Thomas Wolfe” and the barrelhouse pop of “Percy Faith” are cut from the same homespun cloth. Jurado’s soft voice is filling in with deeper tones; it seems to go higher and lower at the same time, and it’s never sounded better, recorded with holographic presence and warmly bathed in electric organs, strings, horns, and Anna Lynne Williams’s entrancing close harmonies, all so sparing that songs like “The Last Great Washington State” turn imperceptibly from miniatures to epics. The Horizon Just Laughed by Damien JuradoI adored some of Jurado’s early records, like Rehearsals for Departure and Ghost of David, and the wounded beauty he found in a world of runaways and dropouts, bus stops and gas stations, pill addictions and schizophrenia, cheating and divorce. Whenever “Medication” is playing, it’s the saddest song in the world. But I found his rainy folk-rock in the aughties more hit-or-miss and his semi-psychedelic trilogy of the 2010s downright leaden, although a l #DamienJurado’sStrippedDown, #HorizonJustLaughed, #EffortlessDelight #percy, #jurados, #review, #laughed, #music, #songs, #jurado, #horizon, #damien, #soft, #world

Watch Janet Jackson's Knockout Medley of 'Nasty,' 'If' & 'Throb' at the Billboard Music Awards: . Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Since the '80s, Janet Jackson has been one of the most ambitious artists in pop music, pushing music forward in new directions with each album. At the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, where she was honored with the Icon Award, Jackson took the stage to perform a medley of three killer dance gems from her catalog: "Nasty," "If" and "Throb."          Jackson opened with "Nasty," the 1986 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 from Control. Janet – or Ms. Jackson, if you're nasty – prowled the stage in a shimmery gold pullover and thigh-high boots. Asking the crowd, "Get the point? Good! Then let's dance," she blessedly delivered the song's iconic line to the audience's joyous response.     Then the sultry, dirty horn riff of her acid house classic "Throb" kicked in (Andy Cohen was loving it) and she delivered a high-energy run-through of that janet. single. She also worked in some of the music and choreography of "If" from the same LP (which just turned 25) before wrapping up and accepting her Icon Award with a moving speech about compassion, love and God.     Watch Jackson's performance above.     #WatchJanetJackson, #KnockoutMedley, #Nasty, #Throb, #BillboardMusicAwards

Tim Heidecker’s Ode to Jonathan Cheban’s Nasty Gold-Covered Wings Has a Video Now: https://www.spin.com/2018/05/tim-heidecker-jonathan-cheban-gold-wings-video-vic-berger/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Last week Tim Heidecker released “Jonathan’s Golden Wings (demo),” a song roasting Kardashian hanger on and self-styled “Foodgōd” Jonathan Cheban. The song takes aim at the confounding viral video featuring noted useless human being Cheban and various human guinea pigs biting into wildly undercooked $1,000 chicken wings that happened to have been dusted with $200 worth of 24K gold powder. The modern delicacy leaves a metallic sheen on the lips not unlike the sparkly residue left around Charlie’s mouth after he huffs spray paint out of a paper bag on the early seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. On Wednesday morning, Heidecker shared a clip for the song created by the Twitter Cronenberg of viral video edits, Vic Berger IV. You can check out the initial Insider video that inspired Heidecker’s parody below from which the comedian cribbed some of his lyrical content verbatim. At about the 2:20 mark you can see correspondent Herrine Ro likely contract salmonella as she reveals the dangerously pink interior of the golden wing out of which she just took a hearty bite. All proceeds from the sale of Heidecker’s song benefit the L.A. Food Bank. Heidecker also has a trove of surprisingly good songs about President Trump worth checking out. @@maggieserota #Heidecker’s, #JonathanCheban’sNastyGoldCoveredWings, #Video #wings, #song, #human, #mocks, #foodgod, #worth, #heideckers, #heidecker, #golden, #viral, #cheban, #video, #jonathan

Pete Davidson Says Trump Faked a Congratulatory Phone Call in Front of SNL Cast: https://www.spin.com/2018/05/pete-davidson-trump-faked-phonecall-snl-book/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 While appearing on the web talk show Complex Open Late, Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson told a story about Donald Trump that sounds simultaneously deranged and perfectly on brand. The anecdote consists of the then-presidential candidate pretending to take a phone call in front of the SNL cast ahead of his November 7, 2015 hosting gig. “He was weird all week. He like faked a phone call at the table read,” Davidson said of the man who ended up becoming the leader of the free world. He then mimicked Trump’s gruff voice fielding talking to the likely imaginary person on the other end of the call. “And then he goes, ‘Hey everybody, my book just went number one.'” Davidson must have been referring to the 2015 tome Crippled America, which laid out Trump’s creepy nativist vision for making America great again. “And we were all like, ‘that phone didn’t ring.'” Davidson continued. The SNL cast member went on to explain that Trump didn’t even stop and listen to the alleged caller tell him the news, he just immediately said “Fantastic!” after putting the phone to his ear. Davidson isn’t the only cast member to talk about how awkward and difficult being around Trump was during his hosting stint. In 2017, former cast member Taran Killam told Brooklyn Magazine that the president was in fact a “moron.” “He struggled to read at the table read, which did not give many of us great confidence,” Killam said. “Didn’t get the jokes, really. He’s just a man who seems to be powered by bluster.” That sounds about right.   @@maggieserota #PeteDavidsonSaysTrumpFaked, #CongratulatoryPhoneCall, #Front, #Cast #allegedly, #read, #talk, #went, #hosting, #didnt, #cast, #donald, #phone, #member, #faked, #davidson, #trump, #congratulatory

Dan + Shay Share Romantic Wedding Song, 'Speechless': http://theboot.com/dan-shay-speechless-album-track-list/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgLAi9JyJpZsVoWccpGI3Wg?sub_confirmation=1 Ahead of the release date for their third studio album, Dan + Shay have shared a romantic new ballad, "Speechless," and the song has all the right ingredients to be the wedding song of the summer. Readers can press play above to watch the video for the sentimental song. Featuring video footage from the real-life weddings of bandmates Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney that took place last year, the video offers glimpses into some of the band members' happiest personal moments. Smyer's marriage to Abby Law took place in May of 2017, and Mooney wed Hannah Billingsley in October of 2017. “We both got married last year, and wrote a song about the moment we first saw our beautiful brides walking down the aisle,” the duo posted on Instagram. Some of those swoon-worthy memories have made their way into the song's lyrics. "I know that I'll be a mess / The second that I see you," the duo croons in the first verse of the ballad. "You won't be surprised / That happens every time / Nothing new." The sweeping tune reaches its first chorus just in time to watch Smyers and Mooney, all dressed up in wedding-day tuxes, turn around to the first glimpse of their respective brides. "I'm speechless / You already know that you're my weakness / After all this time I'm just as nervous / Every time you walk into the room," the chorus continues, as the video goes on to depict the couples being announced at their receptions, cutting the wedding cake and enjoying more iconic wedding moments. "Speechless" is a taste of the music from their upcoming eponymous album. On Friday (May 18) the duo shared the track list of their upcoming new album, as well as its release date, via Instagram.  The song follows the release of singles "Tequila" and "All to Myself." #ShayShareRomanticWeddingSongSpeechless #danshayspeechless, #dansmyerswedding, #shaymooneywedding, #danshaymarried, #danshaynewsong, #danshaynewalbum, #danshaywedding
