I've tried to search for a video with the song "Those Were the Days" with lyrics, but all the few videos I have found haven't, in my opinion, been particularly good. That's why I made a new one. Hope you like it!

Once upon a time there was a tavern Where we used to raise a glass or two Remember how we laughed away the hours And dreamed of all the great things we would do Those were the days my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose For we were young and sure to have our way. La la la la... Then the busy years went rushing by us We lost our starry notions on the way If by chance I'd see you in the tavern We'd smile at one another and we'd say Those were the days my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose Those were the days, oh yes those were the days La la la la... Just tonight I stood before the tavern Nothing seemed the way it used to be In the glass I saw a strange reflection Was that lonely woman really me Those were the days my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose Those were the days, oh yes those were the days La la la la... Through the door there came familiar laughter I saw your face and heard you call my name Oh my friend we're older but no wiser For in our hearts the dreams are still the same Those were the days my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose Those were the days, oh yes those were the days La la la la...

This is one of those recordings that remained "in the can" for several years before appearing on the mail order only LP in 1975 entitled "20 Greatest Hits". It surfaced again in 1978 on the London records compilation LP "Love Letters". I believe it was recorded in either 1970 or 1971 and was probably meant to be included on either the "We Made It Happen" or the "Sweetheart" LPs. It's anybody's guess. It is such a great recording and why it's release was delayed is beyond me. It leads one to wonder just how many other recordings have never seen the light of day. I've always liked the original Mary Hopkin recording from 1969 but of course I like Enge's version even more. This song has appeared on a few obscure import CDs but was never released on CD in the U.S. It was worth buying the "Love Letters" LP for just this recording. Everything else on the LP is just a re-hash of some of his older Parrot recordings. "What Now My Love" also appears on this LP and it can also be found on the british "The Last Waltz" LP as well as "Dance With Me". Neither of these were released on the american issue. (I have both versions) I also have the british version on the 1988 german CD release. ENJOY!!

I only found this cover by Cynthia Lennon a few days ago and instantly liked it! So I decided to make my first proper video and use the song to showcase The Beatles throughout their active years. Hope you like it and thanks for watching. :) Disclaimer: I own none of the audio nor photos; I have merely made this video to express my liking for the song and my love for The Beatles.

This song, originally a Russian romance song by the title of "By the long road" was composed by Boris Fomin on a poem by Konstantin Podrevsky. Gene Raskin translated it into English and then Paul McCartney rewrote it to have Mary Hopkins to sing making it world famous. If anyione wants to view the original lyrics side by side with Korean translation, please click the link below.l http://www.newlifeforum.us/xe/videos/10496#0 이 노래는 원래 러시아의 낭만 노래, "긴 길가에'"라는 제목이 었는데 보리스 포민이 콘스탄틴 포드 레프 스키의 시에다 음을 붙인 곡이다.

On 21 February 1969 her debut album, Postcard, also produced by McCartney, was released. It included covers of three songs from Donovan, who also played on the album, and one song each from George Martin and Harry Nilsson. It reached number three on the UK Albums Chart, although it proved to be her solitary success story in that particular chart. In the United States, Postcard reached Number 28 on the Billboard albums chart. http://www.facebook.com/maryhopkin The next single was "Goodbye" written by McCartney (credited to Lennon--McCartney),] released on 28 March 1969 (APPLE 10); it reached Number 2 in the UK Singles Chart. It was kept off the top of the charts by the Beatles' single "Get Back". "Goodbye" has never been officially released by the Beatles, although a demo version can be found on some of the Beatles bootlegs. Hopkin's third single, "Temma Harbour", was released on 16 January 1970 (APPLE 22) and peaked at Number 6 in the UK Singles Chart in February. In March, she represented the United Kingdom in the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest, singing "Knock, Knock Who's There? http://www.maryhopkin.com/

"Those Were the Days" is a song credited to Gene Raskin, who put a new English lyric to the Russian romance song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" ( literally "By the long road"), composed by Boris Fomin (1900–1948) with words by the poet Konstantin Podrevsky. It deals with reminiscence upon youth and romantic idealism. Mary Hopkin's 1968 version of the song, produced by Paul McCartney, became a number one hit on the UK Singles Chart. The song also reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100, behind McCartney's own band The Beatles' hit "Hey Jude". In France the song was at no. 1 in the very first edition of the singles sales chart launched by the Centre d'Information et de Documentation du Disque in October 1968. Here is my instrumental cover. I hope you like it. Dave

1968 yılından.. Mary Hopkin'in ünlü olmasını sağlayan kilit parça. Those Were The Days şarkısı, zamanda yolculuk yapmak istiyorsanız, kesinlikle dinlemeniz gereken şarkılardan birisi..Beden ne kadar yaşlansa da, ruh çoğu zaman aynı kalabiliyor.. :) Çeviri:ironicl3 https://www.facebook.com/altyaziceviriler/

A great song by MARY HOPKIN with a super production on charge by Paul McCartney. - THOSE WERE THE DAYS. (Mary Hopkin) My Karaoke Version for all you, I hope enjoy it. Your Friend... Miguel Lobo. "Those Were the Days" is a song credited to Gene Raskin, who put a new English lyric to the Russian romance song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" ("Дорогой длинною", literally "By the long road"), composed by Boris Fomin (1900–1948) with words by the poet Konstantin Podrevsky. Through the door there came familiar laughter I saw your face and heard you call my name Oh my friend we're older but no wiser For in our hearts the dreams are still the same Those were the days my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose Those were the days, oh yes those were the days
