palak(spinach ) chicken is a very healthy and nutrients rich recipe. This recipe is very good specially for kids as it is a tasty way to make them eat palak. INGREDIENTS- 500 gms chicken 3 onions sliced 1 bunch of palak roughly chopped 4 green chillies with vertical slit some coriander leaves salt as per taste 1 tbsp garam masala powder 1 tbsp red chilli powder 1 tbsp dhaniya powder 1 tsp haldi 4 tbsp dahi 3 dry red chilliies 2 bay leaves,1 tsp zeera 1 tbsp kasuri meethi 2 tbsp each ginger&garlic paste 4 tbsp oil 3 tbsp cream METHOD- boil palak with 1 cup water for 10 mins.let it cool down and then grind it into a smooth paste. Add green chilies to it and again make a smooth paste of it.keep it aside. Now in pan add oil heat it and then add bay leaves ,red chilies and zeera and fry them nicely. Now add onions to it and fry them till golden brown. Now add chicken pieces to it and fry chicken for 2 min on high flame. Now add ginger&garlic paste to it and fry it nicely till it dries. Now add all dry spices to it and fry them for 2 mins. Now add dahi to it and fry it till it dries out. Now add palak paste to it and also add kasuri meethi and some coriander leaves to it and mix well and cover and cook it till chicken is nicely tender. A super easy and delicious Chicken and Rice Casserole. This would make a great dinner with a green salad and vegetable. 1 cup rice, Arborio or regular white rice 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 package dry onion soup mix 1 can cream of mushroom soup ¾ cup roughly chopped onion 1 package chopped mushrooms 1 package spinach 2 cups water Salt and pepper to taste Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a casserole dish with cooking spray and set aside. Spread rice evenly on the bottom of the casserole. Place the chicken on top of the rice. Add the onion, mushrooms and spinach. I have different versions of this dish, one where I purée the spinach and another where I add paneer. Give it a go - tastes great and much fresher than the dishes you are probably used to eating. Ingredients 1 tbsp mustard oil 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds Pinch asafoetida 2 garlic cloves, sliced 1 tbsp ginger, thinly sliced 2 tomatoes, chopped 600g baby spinach, finely sliced 4 potatoes, peeled & chopped into 3cm cubes 1 tsp salt 1 or 2 chillies, finely sliced 1 tsp garam masala Method Heat oil in a karahi or wok and add mustard seeds. Just as they pop add the cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add the garlic and ginger and fry on a gentle heat. Stir in the tomatoes, salt and chilli. Cook down until the tomatoes have turned to a pulp and then add the cubed potatoes. Stir to coat them with the sauce. Reduce the heat and place a lid on the pan. Cook for about 10 minutes stirring occasionally. You may need to add a splash of water to stop them from sticking to the pan. Don't be too heavy handed as you don't want to mash the cooked potatoes. Once the potatoes are soft add the spinach to the pan and stir. Cook for a further few minutes until the spinach has wilted. If there is any liquid in the pan increase heat and dry the dish out. Sprinkle over the garam masala and serve.

I absolutely love palak (Spinach) I try to have Palak atleast 3 times a week. Today I wanted to grill the chicken but took a slightly different take at it. Ingredients: Garlic (4 small clove, fine chopped) Onion (1 slice, chopped) Palak purée (boiled and grind, 1 bowl) Green chilli (1 , chopped) Pinch of salt and jeera powder Full cream (1 bowl) Amul cheese (1 cube) How to make it: Add 2 tbsp ghee in a pan, Let it get warm, Add garlic, Add onion, Let onion soften, Add palak purée, Add chilli, pinch of salt and jeera, Let it thicken, Add chicken, Let it cook together, Add bowl of cream. There is a very good reason why butter chicken is one of the most loved Indian dishes: it's pretty darn delicious. Succulent marinated chicken steeped in a rich and creamy tomato sauce, fragrant with warm spices. There's actually not much actual butter in it, but there is a ton of cream which is what makes it so indulgent. I had wanted to make this dish for a long time but never did because for some reason, I felt like it was gonna be a complicated dish. It turned out not to be true at all. Sure, the ingredient list is pretty long, but if you've got a well stocked spice cabinet, you'll have most things already. The best thing is that butter chicken is a very forgiving dish with lots of room to adjust according to your taste, and there is no special technique required. Here's how I suggest going about this to make it even more effortless: split it into 2 days. You can either marinade the chicken and make the sauce the day before serving (the sauce keeps very well in the fridge or freezer), or marinade and cook the chicken off on day 1, and make the sauce and assemble the next day. I find that with a little planning, it makes this so much easier than trying to do it in one go. Ginger Pork is one of the most popular comfort food served in homes and eateries in Japan today. The history of this simple but flavorful dish dates back to the early 1920's after the Kanto Earthquake when pork became more commercially available. In Japan, it is often served with thinly shredded cabbage and a bowl of white rice. Super yummy. Today I made a healthier version with a mountain of spinach (any dark greens will do! kale, mustard green, chard will taste just as good), gluten free soy sauce, and a small amount of oil. One of my tips for when consuming animal protein is to eat a 1:3 ratio animal protein:vegetable. I feel we digest better this way and assimilate nutrients more efficiently:) I hope you enjoy!! Recipe: serves 2-3 1/2 pound sliced pork loin 1/2 pound spinach (or your favorite greens), chopped 1 tablespoon grated ginger 1 garlic clove, thinly sliced 1 tablespoon gf soy sauce 1 tablespoon mirin salt and pepper oil as needed 1. In a bowl, mix together soy, mirin, and grated ginger. Marinade pork for about 10 minutes. 2. In a frying pan heat a small amount of oil on medium heat. 3. Add marinated pork to the pan cooking both sides. Be careful not to overcook. 4. Add spinach and stir fry just until spinach has cooked through. 5. Plate and enjoy! Saute them well. Add water to the pan and mix well. Add salt, green chilli, tomato and sugar. Mix well. Take butter in another hot pan and spread it all along the sides of the pan. Add the marinated chicken into the pan. Saute the chicken with the butter. Cover the pan to let the chicken cook. Remove the lid and check if the chicken has turned golden brown and the butter has subsided. Add the cooked tomato gravy to the chicken and mix well. Cover the pan again and let it cook for a while. Now remove the lid and add cream to the gravy. Mix them well. Corn Palak Tikki Who doesn't love a hot tikki in this wintery evening? Am sure all of us love tikkis. These tikkis are healthy and they are very simple to make. Do try this recipe in your kitchens and let me know how it turned out in the comments section below. Ingredients Palak - 1 bunch Cooked Sweet Corn - 1 no Potato - 2 no Chopped Green Chili - 2 no Chopped Ginger - 1 no Chilli powder - 1 tsp Coriander powder - 1 tsp Cumin powder - 1 tsp Chat masala - 2 tsp Salt - 1 tsp Bread crumbs - 4 tsp Oil Method 1. In a pot of hot water put the spinach leaves and cook it for about 2 minutes 2. Now take the spinach leaves and put it in a bowl of ice cold water to stop the cooking process, this is known as blanching. 3. Now chop up the spinach leaves roughly and keep it aside 4. In a mixer, grind the corn kernels coarsely, keep a few kernels aside to add later 5. Now add the spinach leaves to the mixer and pulse it to get a coarse mixture 6. In a bowl, add the boiled and grated potatoes, green chillies, ginger, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, chat masala, salt and the corn, palak mixture, add the few kernels of corn 7. Mix these evenly 8. Now add the bread crumbs to the mixture and mix it evenly 9. Refrigerate the mixture for about 20 minutes 10. After 20 minutes, make tikkis from the mixture and lay them out in a plate 11. Refrigerate the tikkis for about 10 minutes before frying 12. In a pan, add some oil and heat it 13. Place the tikkis and shallow fry it 14. Fry it till they become golden brown on both sides 15. Facebook: Google+: Instagram: Pinterest: Twitter: ***************************************** My last video: Laura's original recipe: ***************************************** RECIPE DAY 64 – Spinach and Grilled Chicken Salad Serves 2 Ingredients: Fresh Baby Spinach<I used 3 ½oz (100 g)> 2 Hard Boiled Eggs [peeled and quartered] A Handful of Pitted Kalamata Olives [halved] <I used ½ cup (50 g)> 2 Slices of Cooked Turkey Bacon [chopped into bite size pieces] 1 tsp (1.5 g) Dried Rosemary 2 Cloves of Garlic [minced] 2 Tbsp (30 g) Balsamic Vinegar 2 Tbsp (20 g) Extra Virgin Olive Oil [divided into 1 Tbsp (10 g) & 1 Tbsp (10 g)] 2 tsp (10 g) Lemon Juice [divided into 1 tsp (5 g) & 1 tsp (5 g)] 1 Tbsp (3 g) Fresh Chopped Parsley 2 6oz (340 g in total) Thinly Sliced Chicken Breasts A Little More Vinegar & Extra Virgin Olive Oil (to dress the salad) Salt & Pepper (to taste) Process: 1) In a large bowl combine the vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, rosemary (give them a good crush in your hand), parsley, olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Let it stand for about 15 minutes. 2) Preheat a non-stick grill pan over medium high heat and spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray. 3) Place the marinated chicken on the hot grill pan and cook for about 3 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Remove to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes. 4) In a larger bowl dress the spinach with about 1 Tbsp (10 g) of extra virgin olive oil, some balsamic vinegar and lemon juice, season with salt and pepper to taste and toss to coat. 5) Top the salad with the hard-boiled egg, turkey bacon and olives, chop the chicken into bite size pieces, and add it to the dressed salad. Crispy palak pakora is yet perfect snack recipe for Iftar, rainy season It is extremely tasty and dish of choice when it rain. The Crispy Palak Pakora Recipe makes a perfect monsoon time snack, that you can savor along with a tangy Date Tamarind Chutney, Green Chutney or even plain old Ketchup. Ingredients 25 Spinach Leaves (Palak) 150 grams Gram flour (besan) 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (Ajwain) 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi) Salt , to taste Chaat Masala Powder , for sprinkling Cooking oil , for deep frying Directions for Crispy Palak Pakora Recipe (Monsoon Time Snacks) To begin making the Crispy Palak Pakora Recipe, first get all the ingredients ready. In a large mixing bowl, add the gram flour, turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder. Stir to combine well. Add little water at a time to make a thick pakora batter. Preheat oil in a kadai (wok) for deep frying. Once the oil has heated up sufficiently enough, Dip each spinach leaf in batter to coat it evenly. Drop the leaf gently in the oil and fry it on a medium heat till the pakoras are crisp. Once the Palak Pakoras are golden brown and crisp, remove them from the oil and drain on absorbent paper. Proceed the same way with the remaining spinach leaves. Sprinkle chat masala on Palak Pakoras and serve them hot with Date Tamarind Chutney, Green Chutney or even plain old Ketchup Note: If you don't have baby spinach, you can use regular spinach, chop it fine and mix it into the batter to make the pakoras.
