A fantastic set of Seeburg 1000 background tracks, this video contains a complete side of one of discs in the amazing Seeburg Background music series. Just skip to 0:11 to get straight to the music. Seeburg put out a background music system starting in 1959 and it went clear to 1986, issuing thing special background recordings on nine inch, 16 and 2/3 rpm records, with a two-inch center spindle hole. They were designed to be played on a special record player that could hold 25 records, and play both sides of the record, rotating through them in a cycle, the idea was that you would have heard 1000 tunes by the time the whole stack completed.... which the average side is about 40 minutes long, so 80 minutes a record, times that by 25.... that is more than enough to go the entire day and then some without hearing a single repeat.... They were issued as a subscription, and all of them were supposed to be returned to Seeburg to be destroyed after they were rotated out... yet a lot of them still made it to the present (akin to all those V-DIscs in WW2 that were not supposed to last past that conflict but are still around as a hot collector's item). You can expect to pay around 10 dollars per disk if you wish to own one of these records these days. There was a set of "series" that offered the subscriber various "flavors" of music. The Mood series was made for restaurants and upscale establishments, it was lush and posh as possible. The Basic series was a little more upbeat but mostly the same, made for shopping malls and supermarkets..... The Industrial series was made for factories, and are very upbeat and rather varied, by the 1970's we have Disco in this series... Other series were developed for the "private" market, like the Encore series (Jazz based, very classy), the Penthouse series, and all sorts.... Eventually, the old record based system failed to be competitive with tape-based systems, and they eventually took over. Now we just have pop music being passed off a background music now when we go shopping. Feel free to ID the tracks, and do know that I did clean up the audio with denoise and clickrepair, so what artifacts from the record the audio comes from are very few and far between.

The video portion is separate from the audio and is purely for aesthetics. Also the stylus used for archiving these recordings is a .7mil not a 1mil so the records are not harmed during playback even though the grooves of these records are .5mil in diameter .7 should be an acceptable size for playback so that all of the frequencies of the recordings will be picked up during playback. Hope you enjoy the video. and check out my other channel EverythingRetro1. Also the record player used in this video has a .7 mil diamond stylus tracking at an acceptable tracking force, so the record is not being harmed :)

Just a heads up, I don't own any material here. I'm uploading this for non-profit historical purposes to show how good [background] music used to be back then. Since this album is rare to come across (including all other Seeburg BG music) and no one here has uploaded this particular album for YT, I decided to upload my copy. After ripping, I cleaned and enhanced the audio to my best ability for the best listening experience. I also was going to mixed the audio down to mono (which the music was recorded on the vinyl), but it sounded too "hammered" and "flat", while the "stereo mix" (this video) sounds more broad [even though this is a MONO album]. Also, sorry for some of the grinding noises on track 8, I can't do anything about that part. Anyway, relax, and enjoy this wonderful background music. Track Listing: 1. People (From "Funny Girl") - 0:00 2. My Heart Tells Me - 2:33 3. Corcavado (Quiet Night Of The Stars) - 5:17 4. And I Love Her - 8:17 5. Here's That Rainy Day - 10:42 6. Sentimental Journey - 13:33 7. Lady's Dream - 16:04 8. Where Have All The Flowers Gone - 19:06 9. Maria (West Side Story) - 21:45 10. If Dreams Come True - 24:15 11. It Never Entered My Mind - 26:47 12. Song My Lady Sings - 29:12 13. When You're Unloved - 31:36 14. Isn't It Romantic - 33:57 All credit goes to Seeburg Music Library and/or their respectful owners.

Some tracks might sound worse than others due to the records being well worn from the previous life the records had being used in a public space played 24/7. Also there might be some silvering wear on some of the records this was from the previous user of these albums playing them on an improper turntable with a 1 mil stylus.

My Fair Lady, virtually every budget record label in existence made some My Fair Lady cover album of their own. This is the third Eli Oberstien release I own that is connected to my Fair Lady, with this video's upload, now all three of those releases are now online. This album does not have every single song from the Broadway musical, however, it does have every song that was released on the official 'Complete' My Fair Lady album released by Columbia records at about this same time period. You can tell that illustration on the cover featured here was likey trying to imitate the face of the figure shown controlling Professor Higgins on the album cover of the official Columbia records release from the original cast. Regardless, this album is noteworthy. I OCR'd the liner notes (Rondolette was a classier Oberstien label which featured liner notes and stereo recordings) and made corrections as needed. 'STEREOPHONIC SA144 MY FAIR LADY Adapted from Bernard Shaw -Pygmalion" Book and Lyrics by ALAN JAY Lerner • Music by FREDERICK. LOEWE Production staged by MOSS HART Choreography and Musical Numbers by Hanya Holm • Production designed by Oliver Smith Costumes designed by Cecil Beacon Musical Director Richard Muller-Lampertz • Musical Arrangements by Robert Russell Bennett Dance Music Arranged by Trude Rittman SELECTIONS INCLUDE: Overture------------------------------------------------Orchestra Why Can't the English----------------------------- Lawrence Chelsi and Group Wouldn't It Be Lovely------------------------------- Alberta Hopkins With A Little Bit of Luck --------------------------Tom O'Leary Rain in Spain-------------------------------------------Alberta Hopkins, Lawrence Chelsi, and Tom O'Leary I'm An Ordinary Man-------------------------------- Lawrence Chelsi I Could Have Danced All Night---------------------Alberta Hopkins and Girls Ascot Gavotte------------------------------------------- Orchestra and Chorus On the Street Where You Live----------------------Eddie Ruhl You Did It------------------------------------------------- Tom O'Leary and Lawrence Chelsi Show Me--------------------------------------------------Eddie RuId and Alberta Hopkins Get Me to the Church on Time----------------------- Tom O'Leary A Hymn to Him------------------------------------------- Lawrence Chelsi and Tom O'Leary Without You----------------------------------------------- Alberta Hopkins I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face---------------- Lawrence Chelsi MY FAIR LADY Is the musical adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion'. The integration of the songs into this wonderful hit show, which opened in New York on March 15, 1956, not only did not interfere with it but is enhanced it in every way. The lyrics of Mr. Lerner tit the situation beautifully and the singable and danceable melodies of Mr. Loewe have made this one of the biggest and best musical comedies of our time The plot of MY FAIR LADY closely follows that of Shaw's enduring comedy—the story of the flower girl taken in hand by Henry Higgins and his friend Colonel Pickering and their training of her in speech and deportment to where she is passed off as a duchess at a court reception, is fine theater The ending where Higgins sings 'I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face', and threesies that Eliza has broken through his iced reserve and is likely to become the professor's wife, is something everyone will remember after having seen this musical show LAWRENCE CHEISI who sings the part of Henry Higgins Has been on most of the important television programs and was featured with Celeste Holm, Rise Stevens, June Havoc, etc.. He was Patrice Munscl's partner in their cafe act in Las Vegas at the New Frontier Hotel CHELSI is one of the foremost American actors of the comedy snip:, has ins; appeared in 'Tonight at 8:30', was awarded the best performance of the year for Wintergreen For President', was in "Of Thee I Sing', appeared in "'Up in Central Park', "Finian's Rainbow ', and many others He has recently been chosen to sing at the Beirut Festival in Germany. ALBERTA HOPKINS was originally soloist with Fred Waring and his orchestra and was then engaged for "Student Prince at the Summer Festival in Warwick, Rhode Island. She has appeared with the St. Louis Municipal Light Opera Company, has been a soloist at Radio City Music Hall, and ar present is studying grand opera under Giovanni Martinelli. TOM O'Leary went to school in Texas and made his debut in opera in -The Bartered Bride' He is one of the great young bass voices He has appeared in -Goys and Dolls' and in the motion picture "State Fair" with Gordon MacRae. He is at present studying opera in Italy and has sung the leading bass parts in most of the major opera houses Basically, you will find that the comedy of this great big American shines through his singing A product of the RONDO RECORD CORPORATION, Union City, New Jersey'

From the Seeburg Lifestyle library. Several covers of popular 70's tunes including "Popcorn." Played on a rescued player mounted in a plinth for better display of operation. Evidence of flutter can be heard, the slow disc rotation and general age of the machine is the cause. Still, it adds a distinctive character to these elevator-style arrangements.

I realize the camera-work is not up to my usual standards, i was too excited to upload the video and shot it with little prep for quality, lighting, audio etc. I WILL PRODUCE A BETTER CLIP SOON. circa 1961. fully functional Seeburg '1000', with "Mood Music Library". A Diplomat Record release of ten selections from popular film scores. The featured movies are West Side Story and Flower Drum Song. Side 1 You Are Beautiful Tonight Spell Bound True Love Traumerei Side 2 Love Look Away Maria Third Man Theme Gigi Undercurrent This album was in stereo, and I thought I had recorded the album in stereo onto my computer... yet it recorded mono. however, the engineering is so bizarre that it is at times rather distracting. So, instead of me re-recording the record, I will post this mono mix... trust me, the stereo mix sounds terrible. The engineers tried way too hard to make the orchestra sound bigger and better then it was. The "West Side Story" tracks contain vocals, and the vocals are high grade, but the engineers put on excessive reverb and kept moving the vocals from one channel to the other... the vocals sounded distant and faint at times. On some instrumental tracks, some instruments are treated the same way, and they sound distant and faint as well (Even in stereo). This album would have been stellar if the engineers had been more conservative in their application of post production editing. -Video Upload powered by https://www.TunesToTube.com

Purchase Here: https://bit.ly/2LS2DRG Kingsway Music Library is proud to present CVRE Vol 1. This original library features 21 samples from a new generation multi-instrumentalist producer CVRE. The collection features a wide range of compositions, combining the warmth of vintage analog gear (including the CS60, Memorymoog, Juno 60, Space Echo RE-201, Jupiter 8, various vintage guitars, etc.) with the edgy digital sounds of today for a truly unique hybrid experience.
