“Om Aim Hreem Shreem Sri Lalita Tripurasundari Padukam Poojayami Namah” Lalita means The One Who Plays. All creation, manifestation and dissolution is considered to be a play of Devi. Tri-Pura means the three worlds and Sundari means beauty. She is the transcendent beauty of the three worlds. Tripura also signifies:- She is the ruler of the the three gunas of Satva, Rajas and Tamas; and sun, moon and fire – the zodiac and the planets, and therefore Time itself; She is also “tripura” as Will (Iccha), Knowledge (Jnana) and Action (Kriya). She is also “tripura” as intellect, feelings & physical sensation; and She is triple as the three states of the soul – awakening, dreaming and -sleeping states. Her five triangles also represent the Pancha Tatwas and the Pancha Bhootas. (This is what the verse in Lalita Sahasranama means by -”Panchami pancha bhuteshi pancha sankhyopacharini “. It is difficult to say what She is not. Lalita holds five flowery arrows, noose, goad and bow. The noose represents attachment, the goad represents repulsion, the sugarcane bow represents the mind and the flowery arrows are the five sense objects. The Divine Goddess is to be meditated upon as seated on the lotus with petal eyes. She is golden hued, and has lotus flowers in Her hand. She dispels fear of the devotees who bow before Her. She is the embodiment of peace, knowledge (vidyaa), is praised by gods and grants every kind of wealth wished for. - The Yogini Hridaya (Heart of the Yogini), also known as Nitya Hridaya and Sundari Hridaya, is said to be one part of the entire work known as the Nityashodashikarnava (Ocean of the 16 Nityas), the other part being often separately treated as the Vamakeshvara Tantra. The work, which abounds in elliptical terms and code words peculiar to the Shri Vidya tradition, is divided into three chapters corresponding to three parts (sanketa) described as chakra (or yantra), mantra and puja, or worship. The Yogini Hridaya belongs to what is known as the Kadi line of Shri Vidya. Kadi means "the letter Ka etc", and refers to the fifteen lettered mantra which starts ka e I la hrim, which is referred to elsewhere on this Web site. The well known Shri Yantra is considered to be one with the mantra and with the devata (goddess in this case) known as Shri Shri Mahatripurasundari. The Shri Chakra Nyasa identifies the different elements of the Shri Yantra with different parts of the human organism. As the devotee touches the particular part of the body, she or he visualises the particular aspect and at the same time pronounces a mantra, linked to the particular matrikas or letters of the Sanskrit alphabet. Shri Chakra Nyasa After having done the daily declared practice of Shri Devi, and having given ritual offering (upachara), mantra, and holding a flower between folded hands, the devotee should meditate firstly on the form of the Shri Chakra on the head. Aim Hrim Shrim hail to the collective deities of the Chakra, the Prakata, Gupta, Guptatara, Sampradaya, Kulakaula, Nigarbha, Rahasya, Atirahasya, Pararahasya Yoginis. These should be diffused over all the limbs. Mahashodha Nyasa Nyasa or touching the various parts of the body with mantras is an integral part of Tantra. Apart from the Tantrik significance, the touching of the various parts of the body activates and purifies the various nadis or nerve centers of the body. The Sodha Nyasa (sixfold nyasa), which is part of the daily worship of Tripurasundari, called Nityotsava, itself a commentary on the famous Kalpasutras of Parashuram. Parashurama was a Brahman initiated by Lord Dattatreya into the worship of Shri Shri Mahatripurasundari Lalita Devi. The Kalpasutras provides a compendium for the worship of that Devi. Various forms of nyasa, which means ‘placing’, enter into this and all other forms of tantrika puja. The dialogue between Parashuram and Dattatreya is contained in the Tripura Rahasya. The Sodha Nyasa in which Devi outspreads as Ganeshas, planets, 27 nakshatras (asterisms), yoginis of the seven dhatus or bodily elements of ayurveda, sidereal zodiac, and sacred sites (pithas) is described in very many agamas such as Vamakeshvara Tantra, Gandharva Tantra, Jnanarnava, The 1,000 Names of Lalita, etc.. It is described in detail in the Yogini Hridaya, itself said to form the latter part of the Vamakeshvara Tantra.

Lalita Sahasranama (IAST: lalitāsahasranāma) is a text from Brahmanda Purana. It is a sacred text to the Hindu worshippers of the Goddess Lalita Devi, i.e. the Divine Mother or Goddess Durga, in the form, Shakti. Lalitha is the Goddess of bliss and should not be misunderstood that Lalitha is similar to Parvathi, Consort of Shiva. Etymologically, "Lalitha" means "She Who Plays". In the root form (vyutpatti), the word "Lalitha" means "spontaneous" from which the meaning "easy" is derived and implicitly extends to "play". Lalita Sahasranamam contains the thousand names of the Hindu mother goddess Lalita. The names are organized as hymns (stotras). It is the only sahasranama that does not repeat a single name. Further, in order to maintain the meter, sahasranamas use the artifice of adding words like tu, api, ca, and hi, which are conjunctions that do not necessarily add to the meaning of the name except in cases of interpretation. The Lalita Sahasranama does not use any such auxiliary conjunctions and is unique in being an enumeration of holy names that meets the metrical, poetical and mystic requirements of a sahasranama by their order throughout the text. Lalita Sahasranama begins by calling the goddess Shri Mata (Revered Mother), Shri Maharajni (Revered Empress) and Shrimat Simhasaneshwari (The goddess in the most revered throne).[2] In verses 2 and 3 of the Sahasranama she is described as a Udayatbhanu Sahasrabha (the one who is as bright as the rays of thousand rising suns), Chaturbahu Samanvita (the one who has four hands) and Ragasvarupa Pashadhya (the one who is the embodiment of love and the who is holding the rope).[3] Chidagnikunda Sambhuta (one who was born from the altar of the fire of consciousness) and Devakarya Samudyata (one who manifested Herself for fulfilling the objects of the devas) are among other names mentioned in the sahasranama. This stotra (hymn of praise) occurs in the Brahmanda Purana (history of the universe) in the chapter of discussion between Hayagreeva and Agasthya. Hayagreeva is an incarnation of Vishnu with the head of a horse who is held to be the storehouse of knowledge. Agasthya is one of the sages of yore and one of the stars of the constellation Saptarishi (Ursa major). At the request of Agasthya, Hayagreeva is said to have taught him the thousand holiest names of Lalita. This has been conveyed to us by the sage Maharishi Vyasa. Lalita Sahasranama is the only sahasranama composed by vagdevatas under Lalita's direction. All the other sahasranamas are said to have been passed on the writings by Maharishi Vyasa. Note that even before Vyasa many worshipped the Devas with Sahasranmas. Vyasa did not compose sahasranams, but only popularized them through his writings. Presenting very powerful Full Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam Stotram. Lalitha is the Goddess of bliss, an epithet for Shiva's wife Goddess Parvati. Lalita Sahasranamam contains the thousand names of the Hindu mother goddess Lalita. This is the most favored form of prayer to Goddess Lalithambika and it is also very secret and powerful than any other forms of Tantra or Mantra. Song Credits: Title: Shri Lalita Sahasranam Album: Sujata Dutt Music Director: Traditional Lyrics: Traditional Language: Sanskrit 1] Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasranama is as beneficial as visiting religious places, taking bath in a holy river, offering food, offering materials. It is an indirect blessing to those who cannot do these kind of offerings to God. 2] Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasranama will ward off the evil from uncompleted pooja vidhis or rituals etc. It will also form a way of penance. 3] Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasranama will ward off premature death, will provide a long and contended healthy life. Fever can be cured by religiously chanting Sree Lalitha Sahasranamam by touching on a persons forehead. The number of times you chant the more benefit you are likely to get. The vibhuti used for Sree Lalitha Sahasranama archana can be applied then on the forehead, which will give much relief to fever and headache. 4] It is said that if one chants religiously Sree Lalitha Sahasra Namam keeping a glass of water (or in a vessel) in front and then pours it over the head, all sorts of troubles related to once planetary positions and from evil spirits will be warded off. 5] It is said that if a person chants Sree Lalitha Sahasranama keeping in mind a picture of Sree Lalitha Devi situated in the divine ocean which contains `Amrut' , he will be cured from any kind of disease related to poison. 6] It is said that if a person consumes ghee, which is kept while chanting Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam, he will be cured of impotency and will have children. 7]Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam will ward off any kind of evil deeds or rituals (black magic) aimed at the person who chants the namam. The power derived from the chanting supersedes all other forms of prayers and the person will no more require to consult astrologers or any sorts of occultists. He will have tremendous self confidence in himself. 8] Through the regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam, the atmosphere will be purified. Each nerve in our body will be invigorated and subtle energies will be awakened in the person. 9] Sree Lalitha Devi will protect a person who regularly chants Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam from accidents and from the attacks of enemy and will make him victorious in all his good deeds. 10]Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam will make a person blessed with word power, fame, good will etc. Particular importance should be given to chant Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam on Friday's which is very auspicious for the blessing of Devi. 11]Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam is the form of prayer that any one and every one can chant at any time and every time. It does not matter if one could not complete it. Because each of the namam in itself is powerful and will provide all sorts of benefits. It depends on what you wish and how you go about it. 12]It is said that chanting the name of Lord Siva once is as good as chanting the name of Mahavishnu a thousand times. And chanting the name of Devi once is as good as chanting the name of Siva, a thousand times. And of which Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam is the most important one to Sree Lalitha Devi herself. 13] It is very beneficial if all members of the family unite and chants Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam once in a day in the evening or whenever time permits. A family that prays together stays together. It will bring about unity, peacefulness, clear mind to perform and by thus prosperity. 14] In homes where Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam is chanted regularly there will never be any shortage of the basic necessities of life. This is the reason why the ancient Gurus would instruct their desciples to chant Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam even after initiating them into the mantras of other deities such as Lord Krishna, Lord Rama and other Gods and Goddesses. 15] It is also to be noted that by religiously chanting Sree Lalitha Sahasra namavali, we are seeking the blessings of Sree Lalithambika, who is also called Kalima, Durga ma, Devi, Parasakthi, Bhagavathi etc, who in turns is the universal mother. And how can a mother ignore her children when they are in distress or duress or troubles of any sorts? So keep utmost faith in her and start chanting. 16] Each one of the namam by itself is a powerful weapon for many sorts of day-to-day problems. For more subscribe to our channel:

We have seen Golu celebrations in another video uploaded from Ayyangar Kitchen. In this video we are going to see how the sumangalis (married women) are admired during Navratri. The famous suhasini pooja during Navratri is believed to be very auspicious. During this pooja the sumangalis are considered as a manifestation of Goddess Durga. During the Suhashini pooja the sumangalis are offered meals, fruits and clothes. The total number of sumangalis should be 3,5,7 etc. This is done to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga.
