from "Freshman Year" pls support the artist https://hopalongqueenansleis.bandcamp... obviously i don't own the song, but I did buy it on bandcamp and a lot of the other ones on youtube got uploaded 8~ years ago if not longer now and they all sound kinda terrible because of the video quality. This is the FLAC version, and hey it's pretty good. I love Frances Quinlan, so if you like her music then go buy her album. Its like 8 dollars.

Preview of the short film "Queen of the Cactus Cove", starring Alia Shawkat (from Arrested Development) and Alex Frost (from Elephant). It's a cute little film, with one of my favorites actresses ever, Alia Shawkat. Her and Alex actually have some very nice chemistry here, and I think if it wasn't for Michael Cera, he would be my favorite pair for her :) You can see the whole movie here: Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 -

...from the "You're Dreaming" 2016. Red House Records You're Dreaming is the national debut of acclaimed roots music duo The Cactus Blossoms. Led by brothers Jack Torrey and Page Burkum, the band started as a vehicle for the siblings to hone their harmonic abilities on classic American songs with minimal instrumentation. They quickly amassed a fervent fanbase in Minnesota s Twin Cities and found themselves on the public radio's A Prairie Home Companion. Produced by JD McPherson, the 10 original songs on You're Dreaming showcase the incredible seamless vocals of the brothers in the time honored tradition of blood harmony akin to The Everly Brothers. The danceable Stoplight Kisses and Clown Collector deliver memorable, infectious melodies, while the heartfelt ballad Queen of Them All and the introspective If I Can't Win demonstrate their natural and superior songwriting prowess. Infusing elements of early rock n roll and classic country while tracing their musical heroes footsteps back to the roots, The Cactus Blossoms have arrived with a sound thats uniquely their own. -Video Upload powered by

A time-lapse of a blooming "Queen of the Night" cactus which is putting the focus more on the surroundings rather than the unfolding flower itself. A lot of things are happening there. One night stand: the 3rd night I forgot to put on the light betimes (as you can see at 0:24), indeed it's a one night blooming cactus. The vid clearly shows that the beautiful flower opens at night fall and closes the following dawn once and for all.

Ten years ago my Sensei gave me a little piece of the cactus, Queen of the Night (Epiphyllum – Cactus Orchid) to grow. It has finally opened for me for the first time. In two days I was able to make these arrangements within its short, fleeting appearance. Bonus photos: Also included in this video are some photos taken of my arrangements for the Emperor’s Birthday (2015).

We headed out to the Cactus Queen Mine in the high desert to explore its 1000-foot inclined shaft that leads to 12,000 feet of workings spread out over several levels. The Cactus Queen Mine was discovered in 1934 and only operated for approximately seven years until it was shut down by the War Production Board in 1942. Both gold and silver were mined at the Cactus Queen Mine. Interesting artifacts we found on this exploration include a vintage 1940s hammer and an intact ore cart on the tracks at the top of the inclined shaft. We also discovered a large, burned-out area on the 300-level. The headframe that sits above the inclined shaft entrance is in great condition and is interestingly made of metal.

This is a time-lapse video of a "Queen of the Night" (or "Königin der Nacht" in German) Cactus flower while it is unfolding. What you see here took around 41 hours in reality. Quite interesting is the "waving" of the individual petals during the process of unfolding. SoundTrack Credits: MK2 - Hero Theme

This is a video about a unique cactus plant that you might otherwise think was an old pile of dead sticks. The flowers are nice and the fruit is edible. There is a lot of wasp action in the middle of the video, so you may want stay awake for that. This was filmed in the summer and in the fall of 2014, in Tonopah, Arizona. The Peniocereus greggii var. transmontanus is more commonly referred to as an ARIZONA QUEEN OF THE NIGHT CACTUS and a few other names too. The Peniocereus genus contains several thin-stemmed cactus species, with various types of thick, carrot-like or tuberous root structures. This particular cactus species can grow one of the largest root tubers of any plant in the cactus family. The ratio of root-to-stem diameter is by far the largest. These plants can be found growing naturally in some parts of the Sonoran Desert, in southern Arizona and northern Mexico. NOTE: This plant is not a Selenicereus grandiflorus. That is a distant cactus relative from the tropics, with a very similar common name. The wasps are spider hunters called a Tarantula Hawk Wasps. The sting from this large wasp is very painful, by the way. NOTE: These Tarantula Hawk Wasps are the largest types that I know of. The name is Hemipepsis ustulata. This video was filmed with a Sony Handycam HDR-CX230 and edited with Sony's "PlayMemories Home" software. ----------------------------- Links ---------------------------------- Here is a link to an old video with more views of the flowers and more information about these plants: FEATHEREDFAN Channel: ------------------------------- TAGS ------------------------------- Plant Name: Golden Barrel Cactus [taxonomy:binomial=Echinocactus grusonii] Plant Name: Arizona Queen of the Night Cactus [taxonomy:binomial=Peniocereus greggii] [taxonomy:trinomial=Peniocereus greggii transmontanus] Animal Name: Tarantula Hawk Wasp (females) [taxonomy:binomial=Hemipepsis ustulata] Animal Name: Painted Lady (Butterfly) [taxonomy:binomial=Vanessa cardui]

Epiphyllum - Queen of the Night - is among the most popular species of this genus. It bears white, fragrant flowers that bloom for one night only -- then wither by morning. If you sneak up on it during the night, you'll catch it in full bloom.
