When You Feel Forsaken Have you ever gone through a time in your life when you weren't feeling particularly spiritual? When it took work to pray. When it was too painful to cast light into the shadowy corners of your heart? I know I have certainly found myself there — the feeling of being forsaken. I've doubted God and I've wrestled with Him when I didn't like His plan for me. I've become angry when my prayers were answered but in the way I didn't desire. I have wondered where He was; if He was. I've been incredibly prodigal. But fortunate enough for me, God has never stopped coming to look for me. It brings me comfort to know that even our Savior had human feelings. The art of Roman crucifixion was an evil genius – it was the perfect tool to bring about the most inhumane of human sufferings. Tendons torn. Body aching. Eventually, you had to arch your back to find balance. This created ever enlarging wounds in the feet. This continued on until the body's lungs would fill with fluid. The heart became compressed. As his heart compresses and his body aches, Jesus cries out in wonder, "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken Me?" This verse we often overlook in worship services, it is often left out of passion plays – because we don't like the thought of our Savior hurting. We don't like to consider the pain our sins caused Him nor do we like to ponder why our Savior, so very sure of His Father, could even consider the possibility He'd been forsaken. But really, these words were brilliant. They connected us. These words were necessary. This was the moment our brokenness reached deep within His spirit. They bound us to our Father like the tiny hand of a newborn curls around his mother's finger. Jesus became sin so that we could be free from it. In becoming our sin He had an incredibly human experience — multiplied by the lives of every being the Father had ever created. He echoed the very heart-wrenching words our heart cries out silently when life gives us lemons, when we have shaken off every reasoning and can find no reason, when we simply don't understand, when we are tempted to consider our Father has forsaken us, leaving us to suffer alone. "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken Me?" These words assure us of every struggle, every valley, every circumstance being vindicated, corrected and justified on the cross. These are the words of our own heart - these words wrapped within His. I find it poetic that our sins were compromised because his heart compressed. What more proof could a nerdy girl need than that of the Author and the Finisher of her faith metaphorically and figuratively giving her His heart? We can be sure that God had to turn His head when Jesus suffered. But because He turned His head, He could look upon our suffering and hold us through it. Never budging, completely enthralled with the purchase He had bought at the highest cost imaginable. At about three o'clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" which means "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?" (Matthew 27:46) Brooke Keith

Keep in touch http://hillsongunited.com http://instagram.com/hillsongunited http://facebook.com/hillsongunited http://twitter.com/hillsongunited Following the journey of the song through the first four times we ever played it live, from studio to arena— There is a parallel to be found within the narrative of seasons and days, the constant-unpredictibility of life, and the unchanging, unfailing nature of God and His faithfulness — and what singing His praises unlocks in us. In this journey, the song serves as the constant and honest-confession within us, as the environment and atmosphere changes like the seasons come-and-go around us. Even When it Hurts is a Praise Song – not exactly in the new-traditional happy-clappy-Sunday-morning sense — no, this is the kind written to sound its loudest in the cold-lonely-silence of the darkest night, or the heart-drenched-desperation of the heaviest of tears. It's a song that finds it’s voice in the moments and seasons where to all common sense and logic, to sing, and be thankful for anything at all, let alone sing a song of praise to God, makes no sense at all - when the fight seems lost and all strength gone with it - when it's hard to even find the words -- louder then, this is that kind of praise song. ++++ We are making the download available on our website (hil.so/EWIH) - and humbly ask that if you can, you would consider donating any amount to the World Vision Syrian refugee fund. if there is anything to be taken from our own hardship and God’s grace and compassion toward us — and even if we are still waiting in our own difficult night for the morning to come, there is perhaps nothing more powerful that we could do, than to take our focus off ourselves, and help others who are suffering. Together we are believing that our generosity, will ring even louder than our song, and will tangibly become the miracle to the desperate plight and prayers and of so many who have lost everything - It’s impossible to fathom the enormity of the crisis, and the turmoil people have been through, and are going through - forced to flee the oppression and war-ravaged-hell-on-earth they once called home, and the daunting uncertainty of all that is before them. Dle Yaman. This traditional Armenian song formed the basis for the "Song of Complaint" used in "The Passion of the Christ" when Veronica moves through the angry crowd to wipe the face of Jesus. The duduk was made by Artur Grigoryan and is a first-class, well made instrument. The reed was made by Gevorg Dabaghyan and is very controllable and has great dynamic range. This was recorded on my MacBook Pro using its inbuilt microphone. Audacity was used to add reverb and compression.

With tears, Pastor Chris shares the compassion of Jesus with BLW cell leaders at the International Cell Leaders Conference (ICLC) 2015. The man of God, Pastor Chris, said "Prepare your life for He [Jesus] is coming again," as he began to turn the attention of the cell ministry leaders to the urgency of their work. Pastor charged them to give their hearts to the Lord truly, refusing to live an empty life. "Be alert and alive," the man of God said, "because Christ Jesus has given you power."

Watch the lamb is another worship song from Ray Boltz that tells the anecdotal story of a father(Simon of Cyrene) and his children on a journey to Jerusalem with a lamb to present as a sacrifice only to find the city in turmoil because Jesus is being crucified. Told from the perspective of Simon, this moving song correlates the Jewish sacrificial system with Gods sacrifice of his own Son (Christ) for remission of our sins and a pathway for our salvation. As we imagine Simon wrestling with what had just happened, we are moved by his simple explanation to his children as he realizes what Christ has done for all mankind. "Watch the Lamb." Listen as Scott Michael Bennett sings the song, and rejoice at the Love God has for us. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 KJV ARTIST: Scott Michael Bennett http://www.scottmichaelbennett.com http://www.facebook.com/scott.michael.bennett Scott Michael Bennett is an international recording artist whose sincere goal is to dramatically inspire people to reach for a higher life with God at its center and other people as its focus. He began to sing at the age of 15 and has been part of the Grammy Award winning Phoenix Symphony Chorus and Arizona State University’s debut of its Men’s Chorus. Though Christian focused music has been his passion, Scott has a powerful voice and shares a love and special ability to sing inspirational music ballads, classical opera, and lighter styles; and though his style is very personal and unique, he is always noted for his very passionate musical expression. In his own words: “I feel every emotion one can feel, when I sing.” LIKE US: Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/katysdachurch LYRICS: Walking on the road to Jerusalem, The time had come to sacrifice again, My two small sons, They walked beside me on the road, The reason that they came was to watch the lamb. "Daddy, daddy, What will see there, There's so much that we don't understand", So I told them of Moses and Father Abraham, Then I said "dear children watch the lamb". "There will be so many in Jerusalem today, We must be sure the lamb doesn't run away", And I told them of Moses and Father Abraham, Then I said "dear children watch the lamb". When we reached the city, I knew something must be wrong, There were no joyful worshipers, No joyful worship songs, I stood there with my children in the midst of angry men, Then I heard the crowd cry out "Crucify Him". We tried to leave the city but we could not get away, Forced to play in this drama a part I did not wish to play, "Why upon this day were men condemned to die?, Why were we standing here, Where soon they would pass by?". I looked and said, "even now they come", The first one cried for mercy, The people gave him none, The second one was violent, He was arrogant and loud, I still can hear his angry voice screaming at the crowd, Then someone said "there's Jesus", I could scarce believe my eyes, A man so badly beaten, He barely looked alive, Blood poured from His body, From the thorns upon His brow, Running down the cross, Falling to the ground. I watched Him as He struggled, I watched Him as He fell, The cross came down upon His back, The crowd began to yell, In that moment I felt such agony, In that moment I felt such loss, Till a Roman soldier grabbed my arm and screamed, "you, carry His cross". At first I tried to resist him, Then his hand reached for his sword, So I knelt and took the cross from the Lord, I placed it on my shoulder, And started down the street, The blood that he'd been shedding was running down my cheek. They led us to Golgotha, They drove nails deep in His feet and hands, Yet upon the cross I heard Him pray "Father, forgive them". Oh, never have I seen such love in any other eyes, "Into thy hands I commit my spirit" He prayed and then He died, I stood for what seemed like years, I'd lost all sense of time until I felt two tiny hands holding tight to mine, My children stood there weeping, I heard the oldest say, "Father please forgive us, the lamb ran away". "Daddy, daddy, What have we seen here?, There's so much that we don't understand", So I took them in my arms, And we turned and faced the cross, Then I said "dear children watch the lamb"

July 2016 Strength of my life Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy Psalm 118 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let Israel now say, “His mercy endures forever.” 3 Let the house of Aaron now say, “His mercy endures forever.” 4 Let those who fear the Lord now say, “His mercy endures forever.” 5 I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. 6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? 7 The Lord is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. 8 It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man. 9 It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in princes. 10 All nations surrounded me, But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. 11 They surrounded me, Yes, they surrounded me; But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. 12 They surrounded me like bees; They were quenched like a fire of thorns; For in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. 13 You pushed me violently, that I might fall, But the Lord helped me. 14 The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation Is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the Lord does valiantly. 16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted; The right hand of the Lord does valiantly. 17 I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord. 18 The Lord has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death. 19 Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go through them, And I will praise the Lord. 20 This is the gate of the Lord, Through which the righteous shall enter. 21 I will praise You, For You have answered me, And have become my salvation. 22 The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. 23 This was the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. 25 Save now, I pray, O Lord; O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity. 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We have blessed you from the house of the Lord. 27 God is the Lord, And He has given us light; Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. 28 You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You. 29 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 27 Declaration of Faith The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident. 4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. 6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. 7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. 8 When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” 9 Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. 10 When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me. 11 Teach me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. 12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence. 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

One of the most prominent books to go to for greater light on the love of Christ in the Bible is the Song of Solomon. But is Song of Solomon an allegory or literal? How should we interpret it? Is it an unwarranted stretch to say that it ultimately speaks of Christ and His church? 🎧MP3: https://illbehonest.com/download/fullsermons/christs-love-better-than-wine-song-of-solomon-part-1-tim-conway.mp3 → Read transcript and view on I'll Be Honest: https://illbehonest.com/christs-love-better-than-wine-song-of-solomon-part-1

I Saw Jesus Christ—Christian Salvation Testimony Troi Cockayne was not raised a Christian, but at the age of 18, he had a supernatural encounter with the living God, Jesus Christ. He then went on to live what he now realizes what a pseudo Christianity for 20 years, full of compromise and double mindedness. That is, until during the darkest time of his life, in the depths of despair, when no-one else was around, not even a pastor, he discovered Jesus was there... This video are for the Christians who are going astray, because they are not hearing the truth in church anymore. Most churches have become worldly, they bring the world into the church, "it's all about me, [selfish] greedy for money etc... We cannot see any difference between a "Christian" and someone of the world anymore. Our way of living is according to GOD. The world live how they want, we cannot be like that. Christians are comfortable in theirs sins now, which is WRONG! We are suppose to be a new creation [born again] in Christ. May The Holy Spirit bring the light back into our lives. What we have to do is Obey Him. Christianity is a personal relationship with our GOD, it has to be mutual, it can't be 1 sided otherwise it's no relationship at all. Jesus loves us, we love Him too. Titus 2:11-14 For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people. That grace instructs us to give up ungodly living and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world, as we wait for the blessed Day we hope for, when the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ will appear. He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good. Romans 6:13 Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. Colossians 1:9 -14 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Ephesians 5:1-21 Since you are God's dear children, you must try to be like him. 2 Your life must be controlled by love, just as Christ loved us and gave his life for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice that pleases God. 3 Since you are God's people, it is not right that any matters of sexual immorality or indecency or greed should even be mentioned among you.4 Nor is it fitting for you to use language which is obscene, profane, or vulgar. Rather you should give thanks to God.5 You may be sure that no one who is immoral, indecent, or greedy (for greed is a form of idolatry) will ever receive a share in the Kingdom of Christ and of God.6 Do not let anyone deceive you with foolish words; it is because of these very things that God's anger will come upon those who do not obey him.7 So have nothing at all to do with such people.8 You yourselves used to be in the darkness, but since you have become the Lord's people, you are in the light. So you must live like people who belong to the light,9 for it is the light that brings a rich harvest of every kind of goodness, righteousness, and truth.10 Try to learn what pleases the Lord.11 Have nothing to do with the worthless things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light. (12 It is really too shameful even to talk about the things they do in secret.)13 And when all things are brought out to the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed;14 for anything that is clearly revealed becomes light. That is why it is said, Wake up, sleeper, and rise from death, and Christ will shine on you. 15 So be careful how you live. Don't live like ignorant people, but like wise people.16 Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days.17 Don't be fools, then, but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do.18 Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you; instead, be filled with the Spirit.19 Speak to one another with the words of psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing hymns and psalms to the Lord with praise in your hearts.20 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, always give thanks for everything to God the Father. 21 Submit yourselves to one another because of your reverence for Christ.

Using the colors from the Wordless Book, this film shows us that through all of life's pain and sorrows, we can find redemption and grace through Jesus, who died for our sins on a cross. It is by Him we have hope of spending eternity with Him. Green: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) Green represents the perfect universe that God created. God saw that it was good. Black: "...for fall have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 2:23) Black represents man's act of disobeying God. When Adam sinned against God, God cursed man and the world man lived in. It is man's own fault that we have pain and sorrow in the world today. This means man was separated from God by his own choices and there is nothing man can do to reach God on his own. Red: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." (John 3:16-17) God's plan was to send His perfect son, Jesus, who never sinned. Because of this, He was able to take our place and die for our sins. The red reminds us of the blood that Jesus shed for our sins. Jesus died on the cross so that you and I can be forgiven for the bad things we do. But He didn't stay dead. Three days later, Jesus arose from the grave! Later, Jesus went to heaven. Now He is preparing a place for all those who believe in Him. Because of what Jesus did for you, you can have your sins forgiven! White: The good news is that man has been given a second chance. Psalm 51:7 says: ..."wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." Jesus wants to forgive you of all your sins and take them away. His blood will wash away all of your sins, no matter what they are. The Bible says that when Jesus forgives our sins, he removes them as far as the East is from the West. Gold: "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:4) "...and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass." (Revelation 21:21) Gold represents the hope we have of spending eternity with God in Heaven. In Heaven, there will be no pain, no tears, no sin. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20) "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) "...if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." (Romans 10:9-10) Green: once again represents a life that has been transformed through the saving knowledge of Jesus. One who gives their life to Jesus Christ must change the way they live. "If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." (Colossians 3:1-17) Praise the Lord! A service of worship in Duke University Chapel. Ms Candice Ryals Provey delivers a sermon entitled "The Way, the Truth, the Life." Opening Excerpt from the Sermon (36:07) It was evening the first day when the disciples gathered and Jesus came, but Thomas wasn't with them. Imagine with me these two very different scenes: Thomas sits alone at home as the shadows gather at dusk, turning over the events of the past week, the past year, thinking through the things he once knew to be true... How in the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and lived among us. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. And Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life." The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness shall not overcome it. And yet, here is Thomas, sitting in what seems to be utter darkness, wondering whether Jesus was indeed the light, the life of the world. Had God forsaken him on the cross? Abandoned Thomas, too, and Israel and her promises? Relinquished the world to its tyranny? Meanwhile, not far away, the disciples are gathered in the glow of candlelight, when a series of remarkable events take place. First, Jesus joins them - this is remarkable enough, given that the doors are locked and just a few days earlier he had been killed, but it's just the beginning. He comes and breathes upon them the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is an odd reference that brings to mind the way God first created humanity so long ago, how God fashioned the human form out of the mud of the earth and breathed life into its nostrils. John is signifying here a cosmic act. We know that something huge is happening, that Jesus is making the disciples alive in a new way, but we don't understand it. Closing Excerpt from the Sermon: (46:08) "When your personal experience, the circumstances of your life, seems to contradict the claims we make about God's love and justice and mercy, you need the community of faith to remind you about a few things. You need to know that your personal experience does not define the whole truth about God and God's will for the world, so that you can begin to locate your story and even your suffering within the larger narrative of what God is doing. You need to know that when you are hurting, anger and lament and protest are valid and appropriate responses within the life of faith, so that you can begin to give voice to your sufferings and make room for your rage. Finally, you need to know that you're not alone. This is why we gather - because the baptismal waters, the breaking of bread, are the signs through which God proclaims to us and we proclaim to each other, "You are not alone, not abandoned, God-forsaken." This is my favorite part, one final remarkable turn of events: it is evening the first day of the week when the disciples gather, and this time Thomas is with them. The truth is Thomas didn't choose Jesus, Jesus chose him. He didn't find the Messiah, the Messiah found him. And even though Thomas does not believe, Christ still believes in him and comes to meet him. Thomas sees Christ's body, broken and yet standing whole before him, and finds that he himself, Thomas, has been restored to life. He sees Jesus and immediately testifies, "My Lord and my God!" This is what it means to believe - to tell the truth about who Jesus is, to tell the story. It was evening when the disciples gathered and Jesus came, and by the next morning, Thomas would be out in the world proclaiming the truth about Jesus to everyone he met. His story is written down so that we might also believe and testify.--So that the good news, the gospel, might spill over and spread from the mountain to the valley. Now when you find yourself down in that valley, in a place that seems like utter darkness, and Lord knows you will, let Thomas show you the way. When you can't hope, when you can't believe, yearn to see Jesus face to face, cry out for an account from God, and gather with the community to wait. For Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again, blessed are you who have not seen and yet have come to believe. Blessed are you who have come here anyway, not believing but desperately wanting to. Blessed are you who yearn for Jesus, the light, the life of the world, to be present here, now. You, too, will see Jesus in the flesh. Blessed are you, every one of you -- not because you have chosen Christ or found the way, but because Christ has chosen you, come seeking after you to find you, and when he meets you, to enliven you with the Spirit and send you out again into the fray."
