The woman who invented Mother's Day came to hate it!news cnn ===================================================== She just wanted to honor her mom Long before her death, Jarvis' mom Ann Reeves Jarvis hoped someone would dedicate a day to honor mothers. When she died on May 9, 1905, Jarvis set out to do just that. She began campaigning not only for her mom but for moms everywhere. It started off with her hometown of Grafton, West Virginia, which takes credit for hosting the first official Mother's Day celebration three years later at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church. Since then, the church has been dubbed the "International Mother's Day Shrine." In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill recognizing Jarvis' Mother's Day as a national holiday. ===================================================== LIKE | COMMENT | SHARE | SUBSCRIBE Thanks for watching.

★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED This is Monica, and her stepmother hated her so much she had to move out. But let’s start from the beginning. Monica’s mom died when she was around 3 years old, and it made her dad miserable, because he loved her very much. For years he was single, not even daring to start dating again, but when she was 14, he met Taylor. She sort of looked like her mother, but she wasn’t anything like her in terms of character. Her dad asked her if she would be okay with them being together, and of course she said yes, because she wanted him to be happy. Soon they got married and Taylor moved in with them together with her son James, who was 12 at the time. At first everything was alright – her dad and Taylor clearly loved each other very much, and James was quite easy-going. She hadn’t seen her dad so happy in years! But soon, she started to notice that Taylor was manipulating him. She would always make him adapt to her lifestyle and if she did something wrong, she turned everything around, so it was Monica’s dad who was “at fault”. Monica herself wasn’t having any of it, and Taylor began to dislike her attitude and started treating her badly, and always blamed her if something went wrong. Even if James did something, it was her fault. For example, she would get angry at her because she didn’t wash the dishes, even if there was only one dirty plate and James had eaten from it. It was HER who got lectured by Taylor. And that’s the least of the things she would say or do. At first her dad tried to defend Monica, but Taylor eventually made him think that she was right, and that she was a spoiled, ungrateful kid. She told him that Monica was stealing money, which wasn’t true and she doesn’t know where she got the idea from. By this point, their entire “family” turned on her: Taylor was as condescending as ever, and if she tried to defend herself, her dad would say, “don’t talk with your mother like that”. Of course, she would always answer: “she’s not my mother and she never will be”, which would make her dad angry. And James listened to all of this and started to see her as a villain too, and Taylor did her best to turn him against her as well. Why did Taylor do that? She probably didn’t like how much attention her father was giving her, which was understandable, because she was his DAUGHTER. Ugh. Realizing that Taylor had taken over their lives, she tried to talk to her dad, but he wouldn’t listen. So she approached her grandparents, explained the situation to them, and asked if she could move in with them. They said yes, as they also disliked Taylor very much. She moved out, and both her and Taylor were happy about it. After a year, it felt like she wasn’t part of the family at all. She saw her father just two times a month at best. At worst, they could go for two months without seeing each other. One day, he called her and said: “Honey, please come home, I talked with Taylor and she is okay with it”. Seriously? TAYLOR is OKAY with it? She rudely answered: “I won’t ever step inside that house while she’s still there”. She expected her dad to call, to apologize, to try to fix things, but it never happened. She understood that he was afraid to be lonely again, and she didn’t mind him having a partner, but it wasn’t okay how she treated her. Nothing helped, even when her grandparents tried to talk about it with him, so she completely gave up on him. Two years passed, and he was still with her, but he was miserable again. By this point she felt like her grandparents were her parents, and she had a lot of things going on in her life – her first serious boyfriend, school, and other stuff, so she didn’t even think about her family problems anymore. Then one day, to her surprise, James wrote to her on Facebook. He said how sorry he was about how she had been treated, and that he didn’t understand it at the time, but he wanted them to be friends, or at least not enemies. She asked him what had made him do what he did, and he told her all about his mom, Taylor, and how she only got crazier with time. Later, she met with James and she was honestly proud of him, because he was such a smart, good guy. He said that her dad was much better to him than his real father had ever been, and Taylor got mad every time he took his side. He said that he saw that her dad was tired, and maybe someday he would finally separate from her. James wanted them to be friends, even siblings, and support each other, and even if her dad and Taylor separated, he wanted to stay in touch. Monica doesn’t know what will happen in the future, and she’s still hurt about “losing” her dad, but at least she’s found a new family member who is a good person.

Miscarriages are definitely one of the most difficult things any women will go through. In some cases, some women still have to give birth to the stillborn. This is a story about a woman who found out her child had tragically passed away inside her at 8 months old. She was in labor for 12 hours to push her out. The pain was unimaginable but as a way to get some closure, the hospital staff allowed her to hold the child briefly and dressed her to put her to rest in peace. After she received the urn, she spiraled into deep depression and seeing happy mothers on social media with their children or newly born babies, just made it even harder. But as the strong woman that she is, she found ways to not let it affect her as in the end, life has to go on. She sought after every way she could get help but in the end, time is what she needed for it to hurt less. It never really goes away the pain of losing someone, but as time goes on, you focus more on the positive things in your life and the wonderful memories with them rather than what you lost. We hope you enjoyed this video. If you have a story you'd like to share that can help others, please submit them to www. Thank you for all of your support! Your Minutevideos Team

★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED: This is Lenny, and he feels really offended. You might laugh when you hear his story, or you might just be confused – who knows. The thing is that his mom hid the truth from him for quite a long time, and it was very upsetting for him when he realized why she did it. Lenny’s story starts as millions of other teenage stories around the world do – a happy family, everything going fine, until one day...“Son, we have to tell you something: we’re getting divorced.” Just like everyone else, Lenny was perplexed and a bit offended, but, well, ok – life goes on. He wasn’t a child anymore, and even if it’s an unpleasant moment in your life, you have to live and let live. Both of his parents were thoroughly decent people, and he was sure they knew what was best for them. Lenny tried to ask them what the reason was, because everything seemed to have been going quite well, but they remained vague. Well, love sometimes just ends. He stayed on living with his mom, but he’d always had a very close relationship with his dad, and so he spent half of his time at home and half at his dad’s place, normally at the weekends. And then one day, he noticed something strange when he got back home after a long weekend at his dad’s. There were definitely traces of another person who’d been staying with his mom while he hadn’t been there. He found two empty wine glasses in the kitchen sink, someone’s t-shirt he had never seen before, and even a new toothbrush in the bathroom. His mom removed it quickly, thinking that he hadn’t noticed. But he had. Lenny felt pretty uneasy. You know, it’s almost a stereotype – normally when two people get divorced, they spend some time thinking it all over and feeling very down, or at least that’s what he thought they did. But his mom definitely didn’t want to waste her time feeling sad.He had the idea to go see his dad and ask him if he knew something. Strangely enough, his dad again stayed vague. He was normally a very straightforward person, and it was strange to see him avoid answering. Of course, it heightened Lenny’s curiosity even more. But he didn’t push him. His dad had tried not to make a drama out of his divorce and he was visibly uncomfortable about discussing it. However, Lenny was getting irritated. He was 15, nearly 16, close to being a grown-up man and he was convinced that he couldn’t be traumatized by anything! Why didn’t they just clear things up for everyone? It just didn’t occur to him that they could have been keeping the truth to themselves not to protect him, but to protect themselves. Lenny found out the truth almost casually. He entered the living room and saw his mom together with some woman on the sofa watching TV. He greeted them casually and went to the kitchen to get himself a glass of water, lost in his thoughts. Then he paused for a moment and was like, wait, what the…he didn’t know the woman. They were holding hands and she was dressed in some kind of pajamas, which meant she was sleeping there. His mom joined him in the kitchen to ask why he was home so early. She had that tone to her voice – you know, when you hear it you know at once that something’s up. And her face was somehow embarrassed even if she tried to hide it. “Mom, who is that?” “Oh, that’s Lana, she’s just a friend who came to visit me and watch a bit of TV” she answered, with that unnatural voice. And that’s when Lenny erupted, because understatements are ok but he hated it when people lied to him. “In pajamas? Come on mom! Tell me what’s going on here!” That’s when his mom sighed and sat down in a chair. “Ok, we need to talk”. “Oh come on, cut that ‘we need to talk’ stuff! Who is she, your girlfriend? Why can’t you tell me directly, are you ashamed?” You should have seen his mom’s face, a weird mixture of embarrassment and relief. “Well”, she said, “yes, she is my girlfriend. I just didn’t know how you would take it.” It was a bit insulting, to be honest. Who did she think he was, a caveman? It turned out that that was the reason his parents had broken up – his mom fell in love with Lana and couldn’t help it, so she felt it fairer to ask for a divorce. She begged her dad not to tell Lenny anything, because she thought that he would be disgusted or hate her. Ok, Lenny then said, what would be the difference if you had a boyfriend? Live your life, just introduce him to Lana, she was spending lots of time in their house and he didn’t know anything about her! Lana turned out to be a very nice woman and all in all they’re now living an absolutely normal life. Lenny feels a bit sorry for his dad, but these things happen in life. And here’s some advice: if you think something you do is embarrassing and you hide it from your family, the chances are you are making a mistake. Sometimes understatement is more offensive than the naked truth. Music by Epidemic Sound:

SUBSCRIBE If you like my channel: ► This is Stan. Do you know that phrase, “big brother is watching you”? In his case, it’s “big mother is watching you”. Sounds creepy, eh? We all want to grow up, but for Stan, growing up was really urgent, because his mom was a control freak who needed to check every one of his steps. Until he started going to school, Stan didn’t even notice something was wrong with his life. His mom brought him up alone, and of course she loved him so much, always defending him from everything and being by his side. That’s normal for a toddler. But school is a time to learn to be independent, starting with small steps. He remembers his first day – you know how it often happens that kids start crying when separated from their parents for the first time? Well, there were tears - but this time, it was Stan’s mom crying, saying, “Please don’t go!”. Gosh, that was embarrassing. And from then on, his mom wanted to control every step of his life. Every day she came to take him home from school, but they didn’t drive home straightaway. She went to his teachers and asked for a daily update on his progress. It was really tiring for them. But they were very understanding for a couple of months – you know, a single mom, the only child. But eventually, they asked her to stop it. However, she still took every chance to control him. He would do his homework as they drove home, and she always stood in his bedroom watching him as he finished it off. Stan’s room didn’t even have a door, for God’s sake! When he wanted to go for a walk with the kids from the neighborhood, she would say, “I’ll come with you, but I won’t bother you, don’t worry.” And she just stayed there watching them from a distance! Needless to say, he didn’t have many friends. No one wants to be observed all the time. While he was growing up, Stan realized that this was not a case of normal parental concern. He asked his mom why he needed to be constantly observed and couldn’t get at least a bit of privacy. She answered: “Why, do you have secrets from your mommy?” The worst part was that now that he was in his early teens, Stan had his social media accounts, his smartphone, his blog. He wanted to keep them secret, but his mom managed to find them all, get the passwords and control the chats. It was so frustrating when he came home and she would start discussing the conversation he’d had yesterday with someone. He tried to rebel against it, to change the passwords and get himself a freaking door for his room, but these efforts ended with his mom being in hysterics on how dangerous the world is, that it’s full of criminals and pedophiles, and that when he grew up he would understand her. When he turned 14, the time came for drastic action. He understood that it was impossible to reason with his mom and to convince her to finally get a life. So Stan changed his tactics. He had to develop a secret life of his own, because otherwise he would have no social connections apart from his mom. For several months, it went fine; his mom was sure he was leading a perfect home-school-home life, and he was now enjoying his social life almost like any other teen. But one day, a catastrophe happened. He left his secret smartphone at home, and while he was out his mom found it, unblocked it and read everything he had there. You can’t imagine how this made him feel when he came back home. It was at that point that his mom had a sort of emotional breakdown, having seen that he had slipped out of her control. That time, Stan was grounded for good. His mom told him to stay in his room, and he couldn’t leave it even to go to the kitchen. It seems that she didn’t realize the situation had became totally crazy and very dangerous, and she was behaving like some kind of maniac. Stan understood that he had to do something. The time came to stop the rebellion and to behave like an adult. He thought about a possible solution (he had a lot of free time to think) and went to his mom to convince her to go to a family psychologist. Of course, first she said no. But he insisted, because he didn’t see any other solution, and also because this was the only way for him to leave the house. After all, she had to agree just to shut him up. It turned out that therapy was the thing that they both needed badly. His mom was reluctant, but within the first half hour she was already opening up to the doctor. Stan also had issues, but they were more a reaction to his mom’s actions. When they returned home, his mom told him all of a sudden that he was going to go back to school, and that he was even going to have a door for his room. Wow! That’s what you call a therapeutic effect. The problem is that he was not sure what was happening in her head, because now she was giving him liberty with the same enthusiasm that she had when she had kept him locked up. All he wants to do now is grow up ASAP. Music by Epidemic Sound:

Story By Ruth | Subscribe Our Channel: This is Ruth. Her story is kind of sad, because it's about how her parents recently got divorced. Ruth’s parents were married for 20 years, and at least in her eyes they’d always seemed like the ideal couple. It’s true that they were pretty different, but she thought it was that classic case when two people complete each other just like two pieces of a puzzle. Her dad is a big, quiet man, always ready to give a kind smile to anyone. Her mom is the exact opposite – a firework of a person. She’s always talking or doing something, laughing noisily and having arguments with people. So, what did they have in common? RUTH. She was an only child and they both adored her. Some time after her 15th birthday, Ruth’s parents said they needed to talk to her. She hated that “We need to talk” stuff, and straight away felt pretty nervous. Her bad feeling was correct, as she soon heard that phrase every child dreads: “We decided that we need to divorce. You’re grown up and we hope you understand us.” Well, she acted very considerately, and didn’t ask a thing about what had happened. But one thing bothered her above all. How come she’d never notices they weren’t getting along anymore? All of a sudden their life became a real hell. They started the divorce process like two civilized people, and kept it up like that when dividing their assets...until it came to the most precious thing – their daughter. Both her mom and dad wanted her to live with them, and was determined to stand their ground. “Mom? Dad? I’m a person, not a thing! Maybe you could ask me what I want?” Ruth thought. Now Ruth had always known she would need to grow up one day, but didn’t expect that it would have to happen so soon. The three of them were still living together, but it was no longer their nice cozy home anymore. Ruth noticed one thing in particular that was worrying her a lot. Her mom was trying to win her affection in any way possible. She started buying her expensive stuff and took her out to spas and restaurants, and generally started acting more like her best friend than her mother. It was nice, but didn’t give her a good feeling. The worst thing was that when they were alone she always tried to convince Ruth that her father was a weak person or that he was too busy to give her attention, and plenty of other not very nice things. Whereas her dad was acting like he’d already lost – he was there always looking sad, eating his dinners all alone and staring at her like a kicked dog. Right before the court date, Ruth accidentally overheard something super-painful. Her mom and dad were having a private conversation, and she heard her mother say: “If you claim that you can’t take care of Ruth, I’ll let you see her freely anytime you want; otherwise I’ll accuse you of being violent and will do everything I can to limit your time with her. Do as I say, because you know that she'll choose me anyway!” Ruth felt like she’d been struck by lightning. Her eyes were opened at once to just how manipulative her mom was. And this blackmail was horrible! She heard her dad give in to her mom just so he would have the opportunity to see her. She was overwhelmed, and at that moment made her decision. The next day, to everyone’s shock, she said that she wanted to live with her dad. Her mom looked like she’d been slapped in the face, and her dad burst into tears right there in front of everyone. Afterwards, Ruth stayed on to live with her dad, and once her mom had left she felt bitter inside. With their “friendship” over, she called Ruth from time to time just to tell her what an ungrateful traitor she was. Ruth didn’t know how to answer her. Ruth was convinced that she had done nothing wrong, though. Whereas her dad was now totally happy, always caring, always asking for her opinion and giving her nice treats. She now had lots of freedom, which was really handy for a 15-year-old girl. Ruth wanted to go overnight to a music festival, and her dad on this occasion stood firm and said that he wouldn’t let her go because she was too young. She cried and yelled but he said it wasn’t up for negotiation. Desperate to go, she suddenly shouted at him: “You know what? If you don’t let me go, I’ll call mom and ask her to let me live with her!” That kicked dog expression appeared once more on her dad's face; he just said “Ok. Do whatever you like,” and left the room in silence. Ruth stood there unable to believe how much she’d just screwed up. She felt so ashamed! At that moment, she realised how much she had inherited her mother’s personality traits. She had that same trait of being a shameless manipulator that Ruth detested her for. But soon she also realised that she could understand her mother a little better now: she had manipulated Ruth and blackmailed her dad because she had been desperate, and she did it for something way more serious than her daughter’s petty teenage whims.

Her life was completely normal until she turned 12. Jenny had very loving parents. Her mom was a very energetic woman and her dad was a nice calm guy. She takes more after her mom, and was growing up into an active and optimistic young woman. But one day, everything changed. Jenny's mom revealed that she had met another man, and she was moving to another city with him. And then it got even worse: "Jenny", she said, "I have no intention of going to court to make you live with me. I think you’d better stay with your dad – you spend your life here. It would be better for everyone". If you think this was horrible enough, Jenny has even more to tell you. She felt so betrayed by her mother, and so indignant. Really, is that the right way to treat your own children? At the same time, she realized that if her mother didn’t want her, then she needed to adjust. This is how she ended up staying with her dad. He was so sad – it must be so unpleasant when a woman you love decides that she doesn’t need you anymore. And so, he started relaxing with a drink or two in the evening. "Sorry, Jenny", he said, "it just makes me feel better. Do you mind?" One of her dad's rare defects was his lack of willpower. Jenny was still very young at the time and didn’t realize this fast enough. When it began to dawn on her that he had a problem, it was too late. Two drinks became four, four became eight, then he fell asleep in the armchair and Jenny had to help him towards the bedroom. He said he felt better, he didn’t feel so useless and lonely. At the time, he seemed to be just one step away from full-blown depression, but Jenny would have preferred it if he had taken some medication rather than drink himself into unconsciousness. The real tragedy started when he decided that he'd scared Jenny too much at home with his drinking and decided he had better go out to do it instead. The fact is that social alcoholism is the worst. He found some small filthy bars, disgusting pubs, horrible dens, where he would drink with other alcoholics and talk to them about his miserable life. He would cry and ask for forgiveness, and then promise to give it up. But he just couldn’t do it. The problem was that he now spent every evening drinking, and would crawl home rather than walk. Sometimes he came in with bruises. Sometimes, he forgot to come home. In those cases, Jenny would have to take a taxi and do a pub crawl of her own, looking for him. Not a nice environment for a teenage girl. Imagine it - she had to learn how to persuade his buddies to let him go home, and she sometimes even had to bring a baseball bat with her to make herself understood. Everyone knew that Jenny was not someone to mess with. Of course, she tried to keep her spirits up, but it was hard even for a tough person like her. She felt so sad and lonely, and every day those feelings grew. One day, she went into a bar to fetch her dad, and there was an enormous guy who claimed that her dad hadn’t paid. He was nearly senseless. Jenny doesn’t remember exactly how she managed to get out of there, but she brought her dad home feeling absolutely desperate. She didn’t have any hope left, and thought that she was doomed to spend the next few years searching for her drunk dad every night. It was a dead end. The next day she wanted to tell her dad that she had to leave him and go to her mom, or elsewhere - she just couldn’t take it anymore. She was crying, and her dad was looking at her with a horrified expression on his face – he had never seen her cry. This was the turning point, when he realized that he couldn’t do it anymore – to himself, but above all to his daughter. It was the first time she saw that her dad had willpower after all. The same day he went to his first AA session. The next day was Jenny's 15th birthday, and she decided to stay with her dad for some time to see if he could remain sober. It turned out that life is beautiful even without drinking. He repeats this every day, and constantly apologizes for those hellish three years. But Jenny's not offended, because she managed to learn a useful lesson even from that horror. Now, she's a wrestler, and quite a talented one – they say that she has the character of a warrior. She knows exactly which bars she got it from. Her dad comes to support her at all her competitions - straight from his AA meetings, absolutely clean. And she now knows that even if the situation is worse than you could ever imagine, there is always hope. Music by Epidemic Sound:

As I've gotten older I realize that things are not always what they're supposed to be. The strained expressions and Colgate smiles in a family portrait never reveal what feelings lie deep within the troubled soul of a person. Oftentimes we assume that the younger family members will always be the ones with major issues. Mainly because this world as it is can be so hard to adjust to with the plethora of challenges being thrown at us from day to day externally as well as from within. We also expect age to bring maturity and wisdom and are shocked when we find that the graying hair and slowing steps of our Elders give no indication to the venom that they possess inside. Venom? Yes, a child who spent the entire weekend playing around and not taking the task of completing their homework in a timely fashion, we have Mothers out here who've never absorbed the lessons of their youth or haven't come to the terms of being held accountable with the bad choices of their past and become envious of the clean slates that their daughters have as they prepare to pursue their dreams out in the world. .......and this is more common than one could think. So every accomplishment that their happy child would make is greeted with a negative comment or a dream killing action that discourages them and drains their spirit. These heartbroken daughters can sometimes succumb to the devastation of depression during their younger years living under the same roof of their chameleon-like Mother as well as long after into their own maturing years because a mothers love is something that everyone needs in some form or another! Some will be blessed to figure it out and make the necessary emotional adjustments to overcome this venom filled stranger masquerading as a caring individual but most I believe maintain the open wounds that have them wondering what did they do to deserve this continuous pain that they never asked for. You see, these types of Mothers will come to your aid when you are down in life because that's the only time that they can feel superior to your accomplishments or your potential. But OH if you meet a new love interest that appears to be a prospect for the long haul then watch out for the sabotage to begin! She will work day and night to find fault with that one who you really feel is the one for you and will bring in other family members and siblings into the fray to campaign against your happiness in the name of caring for you. But nothing could be further from the truth as at the root of it all is a hate that can only be usurped from the bottomless pits of hell! It doesn't really surprise most who have Mothers like this but many women will always yearn for that time when their Mother comes out of here distant cold ways to be that one who shares that formerly elusive feeling of love and protection to that bleeding soul of a daughter whose inner child had been abandoned. But in actuality it never comes, like that bus that never arrived to the station and left you stranded, you now have to find your own way to receive the maternal love that you never had. Sometimes you can be blessed to receive it from an Aunt, a Grandmother or even that elderly Lady at the church. But if not, you can move through life in a broken state, not feeling as full in your spirit because of never receiving that reassuring from a Mother whom never complimented you, always blamed you in a major way for the little mistakes that we make growing up and never allowing you to not feel chastised for events and happenings that you never had anything to do with. This truly hurts as I've dealt with several Ladies like this in relationships that range from acquaintances to marriage. And as a supportive friend or loving husband, nothing I could do could really take the pain away completely as my presence in that regard was merely a distraction. So at showtime I want us to delve into the deeper reasons why a Mother could be so hateful in action while pretending to be so caring to their daughters who are emotionally and mentally devastated beyond measure. I also would like hear from those who have suffered through this type of dysfunctional treatment and how they've dealt with it to overcome or are still in the throes of pain seeking help from those who have defeated it. Let's have an evening of healing, embracing and support as we touch on a topic that most will never acknowledge out of denial. Hasn't it gone on too long? Isn't it time that we break the shackles of another person toxicity in order to finally live a happy life? I look forward to reading your comments on this episode of The LanceScurv Show. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Jennifer Holliday: Is She Wrong To Perform At Donald Trump's Inauguration? - The LanceScurv Show" -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Call-in: 888-775-3773 live M-F 6-9am PT / 9-noon ET. Watch/listen: An educated black woman calls Jesse's live radio show, upset that he's saying blacks' problem is their own fault, starting with weak or absent fathers and single mothers. She thinks black families were always broken by whites. She acknowledges that Jews suffered in slavery and oppression too. Jesse says blacks were moral before the Civil Rights Movement. Martin Luther King, Jr., was about love, but the rest of the leaders, Jesse Jackson, John Lewis, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, etc, turned the so-called civil rights movement into hate. She calls Jesse illiterate, and he says he is, he barely graduated high school, and she says she can tell. She says there's so much division with President Donald Trump in office, and she's sure Jesse's a Trump supporter. Jesse says that Obama divided the country with hate. She goes off about the fake Willie Lynch letter (a total hoax), and Jesse says blacks' suffering is from their angry mothers. She says her mother was great, but Jesse says her mother was hell to pay. She tells Jesse, "Kiss my black ass!" then hangs up. It's not white racism — "racism" does not exist, and never has. It's good versus evil, love versus hate. Fighting for a Disabled Mother's Right to See Her Children; After a Mother's Brain Injury Following Childbirth, Her Family Fights for Her to See Her Triplets. April 14, 2010, ABC news. Growing up, Abbie Dorn always dreamed of becoming a mother. Now, at age 34, she is the mother of three healthy toddlers. Her home is filled with pictures of the children, triplets named Esti, Reuvi and Yossi. But in the 4 years since her children were born, Dorn has not been able to talk to them. She can't hold them or watch them play. That's because Dorn endured severe brain damage following their birth. Now, while her children run and play in their Los Angeles home, Dorn's family, more than 2,500 miles away in Myrtle Beach, S.C., is locked in a legal battle with the children's father to grant Dorn the right to see her children. The family's lawsuit, which could make its way to a courtroom by May, could become a landmark in defining what it means to be a parent, especially when that parent is disabled. After graduating from college in Ohio and becoming a chiropractor in Atlanta, she married Dan Dorn, a devoutly religious man who shared her beliefs in Orthodox Judaism. They settled in Los Angeles near his family, and began to plan a family of their own. But Dorn struggled to conceive. After turning to fertility treatments, she finally received word in the fall of 2005 that she was expecting triplets. "She was so excited to be pregnant, she was beginning to say, 'I don't know if I'll ever get to be a mother,'" Dorn's mother, Susan Cohen, said. Happiness turned to heartbreak after Dorn delivered the three children. What happened in the hospital in the hours after the triplets were born is not clear. And the case was eventually settled out of court for more than $7 million. What the family does know is that Dorn began bleeding internally. Her injury was not caught soon enough, and after a series of missteps, Dorn's brain was deprived of oxygen, leaving her severely brain damaged. Since the day her three children were born, Dorn has required around-the-clock care. She can't speak or move on her own, and she remains in bed unless one of her caretakers moves her to a chair. Dorn spent nearly a year in hospital and rehabilitation care in California near her children. On the anniversary of his wife's injury, Dan called Dorn's parents. "He said, 'Well I need to move on,'" said Paul Cohen. Dorn's husband eventually divorced her in 2007. In court documents, his attorney said he was "faced with the necessity of beginning to rebuild his life." Since the divorce, Abbie Dorn has been moved to her parents' home in Myrtle Beach, where she undergoes a daily regime of therapies and rehab. Dorn's now ex-husband has refused to bring the children to see her. They said he refuses to send videos or to allow Dorn to see the children via webcam. Dan's attorneys argue that exposing the children to their severely disabled mother would traumatize them. Medical experts hired by his attorneys to review her records said she would never recover. But Dorn's parents say Dan Dorn's experts are looking at old records, and that after years of rehabilitation, it is clear she has brain function, can understand when people talk to her and can read short passages. Having devoted the past five years to her rehabilitation, Susan and Paul Cohen believe their daughter communicates through her eyes. They say when Dorn has one long blink it means "yes." When she is in pain, she cries out. When she is happy, they say, she can smile. Her eyes follow movements in the room. Her caretakers say several times a day she will say "yeah" or "no" in response to direct questions. Legal Battle Over Children of a Disabled Parent ABC News spent a day with Dorn and watched her undergo therapy. When asked if seeing her children was important to her, Dorn replied with a long blink. "A mother needs to see her children, she gave them life," Paul Cohen said. "Her blood is in their veins. These children need to know they have a mommy and she needs to know her children are growing." The family's lawyer argues that Dorn has rights that have been ignored. "Abbie has a right, a constitutional, legal right to have her parents, her own representatives, to request visitation on her behalf," Lisa Helfend, an attorney for Dorn and her parents, said. Dorn's mother believes her daughter is still "there," saying Dorn cries, smirks and even smiles. "I know that Abbie is there ... it's well beyond a mother's love," Susan Cohen said. "If all she can say to them is one or two words and show in her eyes how much she loves them, I think that will mean a great deal to those children," Susan Cohen said. ABC News' requests for an interview with Dan Dorn were declined. Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation

HELLO! :) May 12, 2013 Made this simple present for my lovely mother! ♥ Song: Mama by Spice Girls Mama cover by Mich ft. my brother, Michael Liggayu: :)) ================================================== Sabi nila hanggat di mo pa naeexperience maging mommy di mo daw malalaman kung gano kahirap maging isang mommy. Giving birth is no joke. Madaming pagdadaanan. Sa 9 months na nasa tiyan nila tayo sobra na nila tayo mahalin. Lalo na sa first moment na mayakap nila tayo :) Kaya Mom, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Words aren't enough to explain how much I am grateful to have you and dad in my life. Haha! Mom, I love you so much! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO MY SEXY MOM! :) Wooohoooo! ♥ DON'T HATE! APPRECIATE ;) Spread the LOVE! There's no religion that could save me No matter how long my knees are on the floor (Ooh) So keep in mind all the sacrifices I'm makin' To keep you by my side To keep you from walkin' out the door. 'Cause there'll be no sunlight If I lose you, baby There'll be no clear skies If I lose you, baby Just like the clouds My eyes will do the same, if you walk away Everyday it'll rain, rain, ra-a-a-ain I'll never be your mother's favorite Your daddy can't even look me in the eye Ooh, if I was in their shoes, I'd be doing the same thing Sayin' "There goes my little girl Walkin' with that troublesome guy" But they're just afraid of something they can't understand Ooh, but little darlin' watch me change their minds Yeah for you I'll try I'll try I'll try I'll try I'll pick up these broken pieces 'til I'm bleeding If that'll make you mine 'Cause there'll be no sunlight If I lose you, baby There'll be no clear skies If I lose you, baby Just like the clouds My eyes will do the same, if you walk away Everyday it'll rain, rain, ra-a-a-ain Oh, don't just say (don't just say) goodbye (goodbye), Don't just say (don't just say) goodbye (goodbye) I'll pick up these broken pieces 'til I'm bleeding If that'll make it right 'Cause there'll be no sunlight If I lose you, baby There'll be no clear skies If I lose you, baby Just like the clouds My eyes will do the same, if you walk away Everyday it'll rain, rain, ra-a-a-ain

Read our blog here: Jesse Lee Peterson led BOND's monthly Men's Forum Thursday, October 6. (If you're in L.A., remember: First Thursday of the month at 7pm till half-past 8 or so). Some new guys showed up -- very intelligent guys who have been looking for the answer; they'd been to different churches, been in bad relationships. Guys talked about their relationships with their fathers and mothers. They were very open and honest, talked about insecurities, anger, fear, resentment. Jesse told one guy that he has become a "woman" -- all of his worries, thoughts, and issues of being nice, getting used, feeling insecure about his body due to being teased as a kid for being fat -- were those of a woman; he wanted to be people-pleasing, he wanted to be nice and have people to like him, he wanted to have connection with people. He identified with his mother because his father caved in -- Jesse told him that his father and mother hate each other, even though they're together and "date" each other (a sign that his mother and the world are in charge, not the father and not God). The man said that he is weak like his father, and emotional like his mother. It pained him to think his parents hate each other. One guy was very intellectual, and thought that he needed to figure out how to create a simple life, but in reality life is simple but he complicated his life. You must forgive before you enter into the kingdom of heaven. One man talked about "conservatism," and the "liberal" brainwashing in California and Los Angeles. For a time he did not believe in God anymore — gave up on God, became an atheist, but found us on YouTube and from an interview with Ben Shapiro -- then he came to church ( and heard Jesse say that God is love. It clicked for him -- turned the light on for him. He bought Jesse's book The Antidote: Healing America from the Poison of Hate, Blame and Victimhood ( The meeting actually lasted until 9:15pm -- at the end, Jesse led everyone in a silent prayer that he urges everyone practice: -- Read Jesse's books: • The Antidote: Healing America from the Poison of Hate, Blame and Victimhood (Oct 2015) • SCAM: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America • From Rage to Responsibility • The Seven Guaranteed Steps to Spiritual, Family and Financial Success - BOND is a nationally recognized 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to "Rebuilding the Family by Rebuilding the Man." Founded in 1990 by Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, BOND offers family and indiviual counseling, mentoring, workshops, townhalls, and other programs and services designed to help men and families. The organization is based in Los Angeles, but has national reach through its various media platforms.
