A collection of Hawaiian recordings on a 1957 budget album release. This album was originally released on Gramophone records in 1953, with the source material coming from the prior decade. It's a solid hawaiian record from the lead in groove on side 1, to the lock groove on side 2. The recordings are on the older side, they were made in the mid 40's after all, however they manage to hold your attention if you are in the Hawaiian music mood. Side 1 Song Of The Islands You Are Like A Beautiful Flower Sweet Constancy One, Two, Three, Four Kalima Waltz My Isle Of Golden Dreams Moonlight In Hawaii Aloha Eo (Farewell To Thee) Side 2 Paradise Isle Beautiful Kahama Hilo March Mai Poina Oe La'U (Forget Me Not) Maori Brown Eyes Drowsy Waters Dreams Of Old Hawaii Hawaiian Sunset National Hawaiian Orchestra

Yes, especially now that "alternative" music of the past has become mainstream among vinyl collectors, for a bargain price you can be prepared for the mainstream music of the past to become the new alternative music that is considered "edgy" and counterculture (club) to listen to... Note: My description of how reground vinyl is made was inaccurate. The paper label is removed before the vinyl is ground up, although paper residue can make its way into the vinyl, as well as metal shavings from the blades that do the grinding.

This is a 8 rpm record, no that's not a typo. This record and other like it were issued by the Library of Congress for the blind. This appears to be the contents of some Western magazine. The article featured is about a man on the West coast who claimed to be some sort of a prophet…. It's a rather interesting story with a rather tragic end. Note: This video was filmed and uploaded long before I began recording directly from the preamp. The audio will be less then grand, however this video is one of my better performers in terms of views. When I made this, I had no idea this video would be getting the amount of views it would. That being the case, please excuse the low volume.

***ATTENTION!!! I will not hesitate to mute anyone who cannot express their thoughts in a respectful manner. *** There is a lot of talk about cheap plastic retro turntables destroying your records. But is it actually true that low-end Crosley, Ion, Steepletone, GPO etc. record players are to be avoided? This video answers that question and delivers proof.

An excellent orchestral Christmas record released on Wyncote in 1966. In the world of budget vinyl records, Christmas instrumental albums were either the extremely recycled and repackaged "The 1000 Strings Play For Christmas" album, or some in house orchestral production. This is one of the in house orchestral Christmas albums. This album features a small orchestra that has it's moments. As expected for a mid 60's album, this album has near lifelike fidelity. The only real distraction is the noisy vinyl Wyncote pressed most of their albums on. Using digital software this has been reduced to tolerable levels, but its presence is still very much there. As typical of my uploads, I upload albums by track at the rate of one per week. I encourage you to subscribe so you don't miss out on the rest of the album. An awesome orchestral Christmas album released on Rondo-Lette records in 1958. Featuring a fantastic studio group with a very unique sound, this album is an awesome Christmas background record. This album keeps your attention the entire time through twelve fascinating Christmas favorites. The sonics are pretty good, the only flaws coming from the sub-standard condition of the copy this recording is drawn from. Despite the flaws present in this recording, this album is well worth the listen. This record is a knock off record, containing hit songs from that time, however using no-name artist that sounded close the original. The records were sold at low prices. This record was produced by Gilmar a record label in California in the 1960's. This record is odd for two reasons (A) it has 8 hits songs on it, and (B) it's pressed in translucent red vinyl, I've never seen a record like this anywhere. Update there is another copy of a red Gilmar record on Ebay (8-17-12). The songs on this record are: Theme from a summer place, Let it be me, Harbor lights, Outside my window since there's not a Wikipedia article about this label here some information about it: In 1956, Martian Gilbert formed Gilmar records and had a extensive radio, television, and newspaper ad campaign selling a three record set of E.P. 45's containing 18 hit songs, the campaign was a success and had nearly 10,000 orders placed. At first the records were pressed with three songs a side (including there 45 and 78 rpm releases) then they made compact LP's that had four hits a side (the 45 rpm sleeves suggest they made 12 inch LP's too, but I have never seen them). soon the 78's were dropped and the number of songs increased per side, with eight songs per 45 and five songs per compact LP. the company sponsored a TV program in the 60's named "The Record Hop" They folded sometime in the mid to late 60's (exact date not known).

A budget release featuring selections from "The King and I" and other Show tunes. This is an excellent album of Show tunes featuring "The King and I". Featuring a full orchestra and a set of excellent vocalists, this album is a great example of what mid-century budget labels put out. The fidelity is very good, considering this album was recorded in 1953. This album will be presented track by track. Each track will be uploaded one by one, at the rate of one a week, until the entire album has be uploaded. An excellent Christmas album featuring the talents of two European choirs that is composed of 20 tracks. Christmas albums were a staple of Budget record labels in the 50's and 60's. So long as the contents seemed to fit the what the record buying public was going for, any Christmas album sold decently. The fidelity of these sets of recordings is decent considering the recording techniques employed when recording at Church choir in the 50's. This album will be presented track by track. Each track will be uploaded one by one, at the rate of one a week, until the entire album has be uploaded. For all of you vinyl lovers that want to clean your records cheaply and effectively. Here is my low cost solution. There are hundreds of youtube videos dedicated to various techniques of cleaning records. I think my way is probably one of the best low cost methods. If you have the finances to invest in a professional record cleaning system you may not need this information. But if you are like most of us trying to pinch pennies and save money, this is a great way to clean those thrift store and flea market records you find while crate digging. All of the components of this system will usually cost you less than 10 dollars and last for many years. Get the word out! Records are works of art and need to be treated with dignity and respect. A clean, well cared for record will last for hundreds of years. Lets preserve this musical legacy for future generations. Peace... August 16, 2017 UPDATE!!! For an even cheaper formula, I have started adding just a few drops of a clear detergent such as Ivory Liquid or Dawn Free & Gentle INSTEAD of the Jet Dry. Sometimes the Jet Dry seemed to leave a slight haze on the vinyl if too much was added to the formula. With the few drops of clear detergent, I see very little to no haze. However, if this method with the Jet Dry is working for you, Great! It worked well with me for a long time. Thanks for watching.

No. Important footnotes: (click Show More) * I am in no way advocating the purchase of Crosley Cruiser record players. They sound terrible and better choices are available in the same price range. I'm just disproving the claim that they will "destroy" or "chew up" records. In normal use and with proper care, your records will be fine. * BSR record changers were the Crosleys of their day; they were lambasted by audiophiles as "record grinders", because many of them had tracking forces similar to the cheap record players of today -- but yet, if you've ever listened to a used record from the '60s through '80s, chances are it was played on a BSR or similarly crude record player at some point in its life, and yet was not "destroyed". * I take "destroyed" or "chewed up" to mean a record that has become unplayable and unlistenable due to skipping or extreme distortion; not merely to mean the scratchiness typical of "well-loved" records. When faced with a scratchy record, most people just turn down the tone control and continue to play it. * The elliptical styli favored by audiophiles will cause excessive record wear at tracking forces much above 3 grams, so 3 to 3.5 grams is frequently cited as the maximum safe tracking force for all turntables. However, the conical or spherical styli used by inexpensive record players and "DJ" cartridges can apply higher tracking forces without any significant risk of excessive wear. When stereo LPs first came out, 5 to 6 grams was cited as the maximum safe tracking force, as compared to the 10 to 12 grams that was typical of older monaural record players! * As I mentioned in the video, the LP I used for my test has very low groove modulation, causing surface noise to be much more audible. Modern LPs and 12-inch singles are cut much louder, enough to drown out the surface noise of all but the most extreme tracking forces I used during my test. * Some audiophiles have defended their overblown claims by saying that the damage caused by a cheap record player will only be audible on a "good" turntable, because on a Crosley the fidelity is so low that you wouldn't be able to hear it. But other tests have disproven this; see Record Raid's video "Will cheap turntables damage your records?": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K3XcD46Wk0

For your Christmas music playlist consideration. Yet another sweet, old-school cheapie LP on Design Records (DLPX-2) by The Cricket Playhouse Choir & Players. Retro holiday images add to the nostalgic mood. As an interesting sidenote, the record jacket and the record label disagree as to which is side one & which is side two...well, it's a budget label LP...We'll go with the record jacket. Also, take notice how much the last two tracks sound rather like the Munchkins from Oz. Side One: 1. Ding Aling Dong, The Sleighbell Song. 2. Tinker Town Santa Claus 3. Little Christmas Stocking With The Hole In The Toe 4. I've Got Eighteen Cents 5. Sound Of Christmas 6. 'Twas The Night Before Christmas Side Two: 1. Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer 2. Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" by Brett Morrison 3. Joy To The World 4. It Came Upon A Midnight Clear 5. Silent Night 6. O Come All Ye Faithful 7. God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen 8. Jingle Bells Enjoy the season!

As typical of my uploads, I upload albums by track at the rate of one per week. I encourage you to subscribe so you don't miss out on the rest of the album. Here are some of the absolute best vinyl records from the 2000s, specifically 2000-2009. Some of these albums were instrumental into my getting heavily invested in the music world, and most of them flutter around the indie scene when it comes to genre/sound, but all of them are wonderful and you should definitely own them. ♬ RECOMMENDED VINYL GEAR: ♬ Audio Technica AT-LP120 Turntable - http://amzn.to/2sOuTNQ Pro-Ject - Debut Carbon DC Turntable - http://amzn.to/2sUegB2 Nagaoka MP-110 Cartridge http://amzn.to/2Fx52OX Polk Signature Audio S15 Speakers http://amzn.to/2tdIUVS Onkyo TX-8020 Stereo Receiver - http://amzn.to/2sSa7Ot Velvet Record Cleaner Brush https://amzn.to/2rqZoY5 IKEA Kallax Bookcase 2x4 - http://amzn.to/2sOur2m IKEA Kallax Bookcase 4x4 - http://amzn.to/2sSp82u IKEA Kallax Bookcase 2x2 - http://amzn.to/2sUoP6S ✔ Check Us Out: www.toomanyrecords.net ✔ ★ FOLLOW ME! ★ INSTAGRAM - http://instagram.com/toomanyrecords_ TWITTER - https://twitter.com/toomanyrecords FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/toomanyrecords PATREON - https://www.patreon.com/toomanyrecords PODCAST - https://www.dragonwagonradio.com/toomanyrecords DISCLAIMER: This description contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small commission. A fantastic set of Seeburg 1000 background tracks, this video contains a complete side of one of discs in the amazing Seeburg Background music series. Just skip to 0:11 to get straight to the music. Seeburg put out a background music system starting in 1959 and it went clear to 1986, issuing thing special background recordings on nine inch, 16 and 2/3 rpm records, with a two-inch center spindle hole. They were designed to be played on a special record player that could hold 25 records, and play both sides of the record, rotating through them in a cycle, the idea was that you would have heard 1000 tunes by the time the whole stack completed.... which the average side is about 40 minutes long, so 80 minutes a record, times that by 25.... that is more than enough to go the entire day and then some without hearing a single repeat.... They were issued as a subscription, and all of them were supposed to be returned to Seeburg to be destroyed after they were rotated out... yet a lot of them still made it to the present (akin to all those V-DIscs in WW2 that were not supposed to last past that conflict but are still around as a hot collector's item). You can expect to pay around 10 dollars per disk if you wish to own one of these records these days. There was a set of "series" that offered the subscriber various "flavors" of music. The Mood series was made for restaurants and upscale establishments, it was lush and posh as possible. The Basic series was a little more upbeat but mostly the same, made for shopping malls and supermarkets..... The Industrial series was made for factories, and are very upbeat and rather varied, by the 1970's we have Disco in this series... Other series were developed for the "private" market, like the Encore series (Jazz based, very classy), the Penthouse series, and all sorts.... Eventually, the old record based system failed to be competitive with tape-based systems, and they eventually took over. Now we just have pop music being passed off a background music now when we go shopping. Feel free to ID the tracks, and do know that I did clean up the audio with denoise and clickrepair, so what artifacts from the record the audio comes from are very few and far between.

This is a budget record released by the Enoch Light based record label Prom Records. This record is a microgroove record and plays at 78 rpm (which make this record sort of an oddity).

Broadway records was a cheap budget label from L.A. Christmas albums just do not come any more generic then this one here. Like a lot of budget labels of the day, this album features recycled material from three different artists; Johnny Cole, Studio recordings that appear on Crown records on "Kiddies Christmas"(CLP-5083), and a recording of "White Christmas" from Eli Oberstein's budget record line. I own the complete versions of all these songs (they're edited here), so I will not be cleaning up this album like I normal do.

A charming budget label vinyl record in it's entirety. Presented for your Christmas Music Playlist consideration. Not only is the music nostalgic, but the old fashioned holiday images will add to Christmas feeling. Imagine arriving home from the grocery store on a December day in the 1950s or 1960s, where you picked the LP up at a rack of cheap records as an afterthought. "Oh we can play it while the kids decorate the tree." "Home For Christmas" on Palace Records, STXM, stereo, no date given. Side One: 1) Jingle Bells/John Rawles Orchestra & Chorus 2) Home For The Holidays/ " " " 3) Silent Night/ " " " 4) Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer/ " " " 5) It Came Upon A Midnight Clear/ " " " 6) I'm Getting Nottin' For Christmas/ " " " 7) O Little Town Of Bethlehem/ " " " Side 2) 8) White Christmas/Sy Mann at The Wultitzer organ with chimes 9) Adeste Fideles/ " " " 10) Silent Night/ " " " 11) Joy To The World/ " " " 12) Away In A Manger/ " " " 13) God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen/ " " " You may notice the record back cover lists "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" as a selection on Side Two, but it is, in fact, not on the LP itself...an error not untypical of budget label records.

Walmart is bringing in Vinyl Records for the Christmas season 2017. I asked the employee at the counter if WM was going to carry Records, she told me they were carring Records because they were selling those cheap ass Record Players for Christmas season. Most Albums I saw were 180g vinyl and for 22 bucks a pop ! Its worth a look, you never know what you will find. Last 180 I bought was $32 at a record store. YIKES !!! Wally World strikes again.

My Fair Lady, virtually every budget record label in existence made some My Fair Lady cover album of their own. This is the third Eli Oberstien release I own that is connected to my Fair Lady, with this video's upload, now all three of those releases are now online. This album does not have every single song from the Broadway musical, however, it does have every song that was released on the official 'Complete' My Fair Lady album released by Columbia records at about this same time period. You can tell that illustration on the cover featured here was likey trying to imitate the face of the figure shown controlling Professor Higgins on the album cover of the official Columbia records release from the original cast. Regardless, this album is noteworthy. I OCR'd the liner notes (Rondolette was a classier Oberstien label which featured liner notes and stereo recordings) and made corrections as needed. 'STEREOPHONIC SA144 MY FAIR LADY Adapted from Bernard Shaw -Pygmalion" Book and Lyrics by ALAN JAY Lerner • Music by FREDERICK. The integration of the songs into this wonderful hit show, which opened in New York on March 15, 1956, not only did not interfere with it but is enhanced it in every way. The lyrics of Mr. Lerner tit the situation beautifully and the singable and danceable melodies of Mr. Loewe have made this one of the biggest and best musical comedies of our time The plot of MY FAIR LADY closely follows that of Shaw's enduring comedy—the story of the flower girl taken in hand by Henry Higgins and his friend Colonel Pickering and their training of her in speech and deportment to where she is passed off as a duchess at a court reception, is fine theater The ending where Higgins sings 'I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face', and threesies that Eliza has broken through his iced reserve and is likely to become the professor's wife, is something everyone will remember after having seen this musical show LAWRENCE CHEISI who sings the part of Henry Higgins Has been on most of the important television programs and was featured with Celeste Holm, Rise Stevens, June Havoc, etc.. An excellent Jazz album of "Cool Sounds" with has plenty of variety to keep one interested. Hollywood Records, a mid to late 50's budget record label, produced some pretty interesting records. This is certainly one of those interesting releases. From the intriguing cover design to the varied Jazz music tracks it contains, this album fails to disappoint. This album is solid from it's opening track "Opus No. 1" to it's closing "Quiet Please". This is definitely an album worth listening to. The fidelity is really good for a budget label, all the recordings sound like they were recorded in 1956 when this album was released. Other budget labels of this era would use old recycled recordings from the late 40's or earlier, but Hollywood didn't do that. This album will be presented track by track. Each track will be uploaded one by one, at the rate of one a week, until the entire album has be uploaded. With that in mind, remember to Subscribe to "The World Of Budget Vinyl Records" so that you can catch each video as they're uploaded each week. A painfully low budget album composed of Sousa Marches. Featuring reprocessed stereo recordings of an unknown marching band, and a cover that screams cheap, this is a true budget album in every sense of the word. Acorn records was well known for their low production standards and misspelled and poorly written liner notes and titles. Their explanation for stereo is hilarious, mostly because it contains many grammar and spelling errors, it reads: "In these recordings the music has not been reshaped or reformed for the benefit of stereo. Rather, stereo and stereocoustics have been molded to fit the music and it is only thus that stereo sound has a chance to really sing, and to dazzle the connoisseur. 'Stereo' is the unrelenting division of orchestras into very discreet parts, thus engendering the technique of recording soloists or sections on separate mikes individually against their accompaniment. The philosophy of microphone placement is consistent with the acoustical environments and are specially selected to suit the subject." I've read some pretty interesting things on the backs of record jackets before, but this tops the cake. That's not all, on the label we are informed that the record is Stereo-Fonic. I've seen only a handful of this Acorn releasess, which indicates that they sold poorly. It's not that hard to figure out why that's the case, consumers are willing to take a hit in quality for a lower price tag…. But there still has to be enough perceived quality to sell in any real numbers.
