When we think of the development of the Solar System we imagine... Bonus Videos & "Chemicals of Reality" Premium Video Available @ NEW SISTER CHANNEL "Beyond:" Narrated by Jack Daniel Ending trailer by Ben Patrick Johnson that before Earth developed life, there was nothing much of note to write home about. There's a small possibility that Mars may have once had oceans, and an even smaller possibility that it might have harboured life. But in terms of complex life, in terms of habitability, Earth was the guy who shouted first, right? Wrong. If you were to visit Venus today, you would encounter a hellish world that would crush, burn and choke you the moment you step foot on it. Scientists at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies have used a computer modelling system to predict the future of climate change on Earth. If life was able to once exist on Venus, complex life may have had time to arise from it given that the planet probably contained liquid water and it remained habitable for a billion or possibly billions of years.

Venus is a gorgeous naked-eye planet, hanging like a diamond in the twilight -- but it’s beauty is best looked at from afar. Even though Mercury is closer to the sun, Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system, due to a runaway greenhouse effect, and has the most volcanic activity in the solar system. Its north and south poles were flipped, causing it to rotate backwards and making for very strange days on this beautiful but inhospitable world. Watch this updated full res 1080p version of our classic show. Why did Earth thrive and our sister planet, Venus, died? From the fires of a sun's birth... twin planets emerged. Then their paths diverged. Nature draped one world in the greens and blues of life. While enveloping the other in acid clouds... high heat... and volcanic flows. Why did Venus take such a disastrous turn? For as long as we have gazed upon the stars, they have offered few signs... that somewhere out there... are worlds as rich and diverse as our own. Recently, though, astronomers have found ways to see into the bright lights of nearby stars. They've been discovering planets at a rapid clip... using observatories like NASA's Kepler space telescope... A French observatory known as Corot ... .And an array of ground-based instruments. The count is approaching 500... and rising. These alien worlds run the gamut... from great gas giants many times the size of our Jupiter... to rocky, charred remnants that burned when their parent star exploded. Some have wild elliptical orbits... swinging far out into space... then diving into scorching stellar winds. Still others orbit so close to their parent stars that their surfaces are likely bathed in molten rock. Amid these hostile realms, a few bear tantalizing hints of water or ice... ingredients needed to nurture life as we know it. The race to find other Earths has raised anew the ancient question... whether, out in the folds of our galaxy, planets like our own are abundant... and life commonplace? Or whether Earth is a rare Garden of Eden in a barren universe? With so little direct evidence of these other worlds to go on, we have only the stories of planets within our own solar system to gauge the chances of finding another Earth. Consider, for example, a world that has long had the look and feel of a life-bearing planet. Except for the moon, there's no brighter light in our night skies than the planet Venus... known as both the morning and the evening star. The ancient Romans named it for their goddess of beauty and love. In time, the master painters transformed this classical symbol into an erotic figure. It was a scientist, Galileo Galilei, who demystified planet Venus... charting its phases as it moved around the sun, drawing it into the ranks of the other planets. With a similar size and weight, Venus became known as Earth's sister planet. But how Earth-like is it? The Russian scientist Mikkhail Lomonosov caught a tantalizing hint in 1761. As Venus passed in front of the Sun, he witnessed a hair thin luminescence on its edge. Venus, he found, has an atmosphere. Later observations revealed a thick layer of clouds. Astronomers imagined they were made of water vapor, like those on Earth. Did they obscure stormy, wet conditions below? And did anyone, or anything, live there? NASA sent Mariner 2 to Venus in 1962... in the first-ever close planetary encounter. Its instruments showed that Venus is nothing at all like Earth. Rather, it's extremely hot, with an atmosphere made up mostly of carbon dioxide. The data showed that Venus rotates very slowly... only once every 243 Earth days... and it goes in the opposite direction. American and Soviet scientists found out just how strange Venus is when they sent a series of landers down to take direct readings. Surface temperatures are almost 900 degrees Fahrenheit, hot enough to melt lead, with the air pressure 90 times higher than at sea level on Earth. The air is so thick that it's not a gas, but a "supercritical fluid." Liquid CO2. On our planet, the only naturally occurring source is in the high-temperature, high-pressure environments of undersea volcanoes. It comes in handy for extracting caffeine from coffee beans... or drycleaning our clothes. You just wouldn't want to have to breathe it. The Soviet Venera landers sent back pictures showing that Venus is a vast garden of rock, with no water in sight. In fact, if you were to smooth out the surface of Venus, all the water in the atmosphere would be just 3 centimeters deep. Compare that to Earth... where the oceans would form a layer 3 kilometers deep. If you could land on Venus, you'd be treated to tranquil vistas and sunset skies, painted in orange hues. The winds are light, only a few miles per hour... but the air is so thick that a breeze would knock you over. Look up and you'd see fast-moving clouds... streaking around the planet at 300 kilometers per hour. These clouds form a dense high-altitude layer, from 45 to 66 kilometers above the surface. The clouds are so dense and reflective that Venus absorbs much less solar energy than Earth, even though it's 30% closer to the Sun.

Sign up to our newsletter on Patreon: You Can Also Follow Us On Social Media: The Space Research Institute at the Russian Academy of Sciences, recently published a series of photographs. Taken by the Venera probe over 30 years ago, on the surface of our closest neighbour, Venus… The photos, according to Leonid Ksan-fomaliti, present evidence of living organisms upon Venus - one of the most inhospitable places for human life in the solar system. The second planet from the sun, it is believed to have once been earth-like, although the constant temperature there now is around 480 degrees Celsius, hot enough to melt lead, even hotter than Mercury, which is tremendously closer to our Sun. According to Ksan-fomaliti’s, who is doctor of physical and mathematical science for the Institute of Space Research, the images reveal the movement of extremely strange objects on the surface of Venus. Predictably, NASA, along with many other institutes of research have attempted to debunk his discovery, stating that the objects are nothing more than a lens cap, and ‘noise’ generated by the second-hand pictures, claiming that some of the objects are not present in the original images. Ksan-fomaliti believes that in the images, a scorpion-shaped creature, a disk shaped object, and a ‘black object,’ are visible moving in front of the onboard camera of the Venera 13. Quoting Ksan-fomaliti in an article for the Russian journal Solar System Research magazine: “They all just, ’emerge, fluctuate, and then disappear… “What if we forget about the currently held theory regarding the non-existence of life on Venus, and boldly suggest that these objects,’ these morphological features, captured within these images, could allow us to say that they are indeed living,” end quote. scientists have not ruled out that once, in the very distant past, Venus might have supported life, in a time when the planet had giant oceans, before the greenhouse effect created the temperatures that rule over the planet today. However, they firmly refute the possibility of living creatures alive on the planet’s surface today. As Ivan, writer over at ancient origins eloquently put it, “The problem with science and scholars in search for extra-terrestrial life, is that mankind believes that for life to exist elsewhere in the solar system, or universe, a planet should have a similar climate and conditions to those of Earth.” End quote. In support of his argument, and in staunch defiance of the rigidly held views upon the environment needed to sustain life… A reality Discovered in 1977, hydrothermal vents deep within our oceans, which belch steam from deep within the earth’s mantle, have temperatures just as hot as the surface of Venus. They are also home to countless previously thought impossible, creatures. Showing humans, especially the sceptics, that anything is possible.

Venus is often said to be Earths twin sister, as they are both of similar sizes, mass and density, but that's were the similarities end. So let's look at 5 incredible facts about Earths burning sibling, Venus! **REMEMBER TO SUBSCRIBE FOR MUCH MORE TO COME** FʘLLʘW THE VENDOR 101 Subscribe - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Google+ - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twitter - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Facebook - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Script - This mysterious planet that was named after the roman goddess of love and beauty, is no place for humans or any kind of life as we no it. It is the second planet from the sun and is the brightest object in the nights sky after the moon because of its thick clouds that reflect the suns light, allowing us to see it shining magnificently just after sun set. 1-Venus is the only planet in our solar system to rotate clockwise and experts believe that at some point in the planets history, something may have collided with it and changed its rotation. Even more strangely, the rotation appears to be slowing down, as the planet has been recorded to be turning 6.5 minutes more slowly in 2014 than in the early 1990s. 2-Venus has no moons or rings which puts it in a group of only two planets in our solar system that are all alone in there orbit around the sun. The other planet is Mercury and scientists currently do not know why they do not have any moons. 3-Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system, with a surface temperature of over 464 degrees Celsius. The planet is so hot because the carbon dioxide in its atmosphere traps the suns heat which causes it to over heat and this is called a runaway greenhouse effect. The pressure on the surface of Venus is 90 times greater than Earths and when the first space craft tried to land on the planet it was crushed before it even reached the surface. 4- Venus has more Volcanoes on its surface than any other planet in our solar system, however experts are unsure on how active they currently are. But Venus does have fresh lava flows, which implies that volcanoes erupted anywhere from the past few hundred years to the past three million years. The largest volcano on the hot planet is called Maat Mons and is 6 km high. 5-Billions of years ago, Venus may of had a climate similar to that of Earths and scientists believe that the boiling planet once had large oceans flowing across its surface. However, as the planet became hotter due to the greenhouse effect, the water boiled off and became impossible to support life as we know it. It's pretty clear we're OBSESSED with the idea of Mars, especially in regard to it being a potential colony for earthlings. But is that really the best option? Is there a better place for us to colonize in our solar system? Well, how about Venus? Sure the surface temperature is over 450 degrees Celsius, with crazy pressure, but there might be a smart way around that, making Venus a better option for long term colonization than Mars! How? This video was given to me by a Japanese movie director that came to record me a few months ago. He was a bit discouraged because he wanted to tell me its just gas leaving the sun, but its not. Its a giant UFO sucking the suns materials though a thin stream line. Its gravity is so big that when it leaves at incredible speed, its gravity causes a tsunami effect across the sun below the UFO. Amazing evidence of alien with hi tech ships. This may be Nibiru, or also known as planet X, the mysterious planet that NASA says does exist, yet has never been seen before, until now. Scott C.
